Emily was surprised, he was actually threatening her, he was the one who came late, clearly he doesn't want to come for the "date" so why wouldn't he let her leave.

Emily turned back to Caden, she would have just ignored him and walked away if not for her father, the Stone enterprises needed this alliance more than the Kingstons, they are just doing them a favor and Emily couldn't afford to blow it or else her father would put her head on a stick.

"What do you want?" Emily asked.

"Sit down, we need to set some ground rules if we are going to get married, that's the only reason I actually came for this dinner" Caden replied and Emily sighed before sitting back down.

"I'm listening," she spoke after she got comfortable.

"You have to stay away from me. We are only married in name only, and that's it," Caden informed.

"Fine with me, I don't see any problem with that," Emily replied with a small smile, and Caden wondered why she was happy with the idea.

Most women are dying for a chance to get close to him, and this woman is happy to stay away from him?

The theory didn't sit well with Caden. He is used to women throwing themselves at him like confetti, so why is Emily Stone different.

"If that's all I would take my leave," Emily said after a while when she saw that Caden wasn't speaking anymore.

When she saw he didn't object, she stood up and walked out of the restaurant while Caden watched her go with an expressionless face.

_

{CLUB~9PM}

The noise was deafening, smoke, weed, cigarette, séx and alcohol filled the air. The club was fully packed with people dancing and enjoying themselves to the loud music.

Caden sat at the VIP section with a wine glass in his hands. He stared down at the busy club, his face neutral as he sipped from the glass in his hands.

"I knew you'll be here." George's voice sounded through the noise. He sat beside Caden. "How was the dinner with your bride to be?" George asked.

"Nothing interesting," Caden simply said.

"You'll be married to her. You better find something interesting," George replied as his eyes ran through the dancing crowd. His pupils dilated when his eyes fell on a certain someone. "Oh, look who we have here," George smirked.

Caden traced his eyes, and his eyebrows frowned when he saw Emily. She was putting on a white short dress that hugged her curves perfectly, highlighting her features.

He wondered why she was here, judging by the information he got about her, Emily definitely isn't the club type, so why the hell is she in a club a week before their wedding.

.

Emily navigated her way through the crowd barely, she has never been to a club before and just as she stepped in here she knew exactly why, the noise was deafening, she already felt dizzy from all the noise and smoke she inhaled, it hasn't even been up to 20mins she entered here.

She wouldn't be here if not for Madison and her crazy ideas, they got a tip on famous actress Zoey Sanders, someone gave them an information that she dances at the particular club almost every night, Liam put both her and Madison in charge of gathering more information on Zoey, so they had to come and not look like they were fishing for information which led to the extremely uncomfortable dress she is putting on.

"How did you get lost in the crowd? I was looking for you, I think I spotted Zoey. " Madison blurted loudly immediately when she met Emily.

"I don't feel okay here. My head is spinning from the loud music," Emily yelled with much difficulty.

"We just need to find Zoey and take a picture of her, then we are done here. If you're feeling dizzy, go to the bathroom and clear your head," Madison said before leaving Emily.

Emily sighed before walking aimlessly. She had no idea where the damn bathroom was. She saw a door and she decided to go through it. It led to a hallway, the noise faded as she walked further. Thankfully, she saw the bathroom and walked in.

After splashing water on her face multiple times, she wasn't feeling dizzy as much as before, so she took deep breaths before leaving the bathroom.

She won't spend another minute in this club. She would rather wait for Madison outside.

As Emily made her way back to the club, two guys came through the door, and they reeked of alcohol and cigarettes. Emily had to stop herself from holding her nose as she got closer to them.

"Hey beautiful," one of them called.

Shît.

She didn't want to attract unwanted attention, so she walked faster, away from them but she was on heels and her dress was tight so she didn't move far enough before the guy held her hand and pulled her back.

"Where are you going, pretty thing?" he said, smoke coming out of his mouth as he spoke, and Emily started coughing.

This is exactly why she never goes to a club because now she is in unwanted trouble with some dudes.

"I'm in a hurry, let me go." Emily tried to free herself from his grip.

"We just wanna talk," the other said. He was clearly drunk, maybe not as drunk as the one who held her wrist.

Emily knew she was in trouble, she didn't know what to do or how to get out of this situation, she really shouldn't have followed Madison here, she should have asked Liam to assign her to something else.

The less drunk guy smirked, his hands brushed her hair touching her face, and Emily felt the urge to puke.

She didn't think twice before she kicked the guy who held her in the balls. His grip on her hand lessened as he doubled over from the pain.

Emily immediately retrieved her hand and bolted for the door, she heard the other one follow her but she was glad she reached the door, immediately she opened it and went into the club she bumped into someone but she didn't have time to see who that was or apologize, the other guy was on her trail so she quickly brushed passed the person she bumped into and entered the Crowd.

She walked through the crowd, hoping to get lost so she wouldn't be found. She didn't know for how long she had been walking, but she didn't even bother to turn back to see if the dude was still after her. She got close to the stage, and she saw Zoey Sanders dancing on it.

Famous actress Zoey Sanders is a stripper in a nightclub?

These actresses never learn, do they?

Emily was going to take a picture of Zoey with her phone, but she couldn't find it. She groaned because she probably dropped it while running from those disgusting freaks.

"Emily!" She heard Madison's voice, and she turned to meet her. "Where did you go? Your bathroom break was long, " Madison asked.

"Did you take a picture of Zoey?" Emily asked instead, and Madison nodded.

"Already got all the evidence we need for tomorrow's news," Madison replied, and Emily nodded.

"Good, let's get out of here before I die, literally," Emily said, and they left the club.

Unknown to them, Caden was watching them at the far end of the club with Emily's phone in his hand.

She bumped into him while running away from the guy who was chasing her and dropped her phone, which he picked up.

Caden smirked as he thought of something interesting.

"This would be an interesting marriage," he muttered to himself before leaving.

_

{INSIDE EMILY'S CAR}

"I lost my phone in the club, I shouldn't have gone there," Emily complained.

"Oh c'mon, you'll just get a new one," Madison replied.

"I can't just get a new one, my contacts, my files, my everything, my pictures, all gone" Emily yelled, her eyes on the road because it was very late and she can't afford crashing into someone.

"Okay, sorry for your loss, but on the bright side, we got what we went there for, and Liam would be proud of us." Madison tried to cheer Emily up.

"I guess so," Emily replied. She stopped the car in front of Madison's apartment, and Madison got down.

"Thank you very much, Mrs. Stone, and don't worry too much about your phone, goodnight, " Madison said before leaving, and Emily sighed.

"Crazy girl," she muttered and drove home.

_

{NEXT DAY}

Emily woke up because of the knock on her door. She stood up from the bed sluggishly and opened the door to meet a maid.

"A package came in for you this morning," the maid said, presenting the medium-sized box to Emily, and she frowned. She didn't remember ordering anything at all.

Emily collected the box and shut her door. She went to her bed and opened it. There was a letter inside, and she frowned before opening up the letter.

"Never knew you were the clubbing type, guessing you're not as boring as I thought."

Emily blinked as she wondered who the letter was from. Does she have a stalker now?

She opened the box and saw her phone, the one she thought she had lost and she screamed but she held her mouth not to alert everyone in the house.

How?

The phone lit up, indicating a message, and Emily's heart dropped to her stomach.

Caden: Gotten my gift yet?

This would be the first time she has seen him since that day at the hotel where he shattered her. Emily forgot how to breath, his face didn't change throughout the past year. The only difference is his eyes. They looked darker than she remembered. But the most important thing was how did he know whereto find her? "Aren't you going to let me in?" Caden asked. "Who is it?" Layla asked. Caden pushed past Emily and walked into the house. "Hi Mrs stone." Caden smiled, and Layla wiped the tears from her face. She is as shocked as her daughter to see Caden here. "It's quite easy to find this place considering it's the only property that doesn't belong to your father but your mother," Caden replied, and Emily swallowed. She didn't expect their next meeting to be like this. "Why are you here?" Emily asked again. "You both must believe Harper is innocent, but he isn't," Caden started, his face turni

{TWO WEEKS LATER~CADEN'S HOUSE~7PM} Lia parked her car roughly in front of the building and came down from it. She walked into the house like she owned it with a slight frown on her face. Caden didn't let her stay here with him. He said she had no business in his house till they were married, and he kept putting off the marriage. What annoyed Lia the most was the fact that her mother didn't do anything about it but either way she would be getting married to Caden soon and he wouldn't give her reasons not to let her live with him. "Ma'am, you're not allowed to walk in whenever you wish," Luis said, blocking Lia. "Who are you to tell me what to do?" Lia snapped. "I am caden's fiance, and you're just a servant” Luis' eyes darkened. He didn't like Lia even for a second. She didn't have any respect for him even though he was old enough to be her father. "Mr. Kingston gave the order," Luis said calmly. "Caden!" Lia screamed. She knew Caden was here since she was sure he wasn't at

"I have no plans of coming back to New York, I hope you understand that," Emily said, and Madison sighed. "Alright, whatever you say," Madison replied, and Emily smiled. "Enough about New York, I made pancakes last night, I would heat it up for you," Emily said, and Madison's face fell. Madison chuckled awkwardly. "You did?" She asked in a not so excited voice. "Yeah... My cooking has improved, " Emily informed. "I highly doubt that, my taste buds know better," Madison replied, and Emily frowned. "Bring it for tasting," Madison replied with a sigh, and Emily rushed into the kitchen joyfully. _ {BELMONT HOTEL~2PM} Caden sat on the soft sofa in a private room inside the hotel. {A YEAR LATER~LUNATEX CORP~9AM} Caden walked into the newly furnished building with a null expression. He made his way to his private elevator reserved only for the president. "It's none of your concern what happens between myself and Caden," Emily replied and walked away. "Emily!" She heard Madison's voice. Her friend rushed up to her and engulfed her in a hug. "We have so much to talk about," Madison pulled away. "I know, I would take you to my room," Emily replied weakly, and she walked away with Madison. James watched them go with an expressionless gaze. It was pure coincidence he met Emily here, he actually came here to meet his sister, who he was hiding away from that man. His phone rang in his pocket, and he picked it up with a sigh.
