Chapter 2

Chapter 2

Abigail was shocked and stupefied as she gazed at the mirror in confusion. 'The fat girl in the mirror couldn't be her' She thought in disbelief.

Abigail had always been cautious of her weight, and had never been overweight before.

'Stop screaming!' A whisper in her head yelled at her. Abigail stopped screaming, as she examined herself in the mirror. She pulled a hand to her face and pinched it firmly, the person in the mirror did the same.

Unbelievable! How could this happen? Was she dreaming? Abigail never tore her gaze away from the fat girl staring right back at her in the mirror. She slapped herself, groaning from the stinging pain coming from her cheek, and the person in the mirror followed her action.

'Not a dream Aby. How did you turn into a fat girl?' Abigail had a lot of questions. Although her slender, pristine face no longer exists, but her facial features could still be seen, and Abigail could affirm it was her. She turned on the phone she had taken from the table, unlocking it swiftly. The date on the screen made Abigail release a piercing scream and the phone fell to the ground. It was two years later.

What the fudging hell?! How did it become two years later in time and suddenly turned into an unrecognizable fat person?

Is this some kind of a crossover? The more Abigail thought about a possible explanation for her predicament, her head began to hurt badly.

The door to the bathroom pushed open, and Mr Reed walked in, already dressed in his black suit. Abigail didn't even glance his way. Her head was a total mess and she had several thoughts grazing her mind.

She picked up the phone, she wanted to confirm the time again, more precisely the year, but discovered her phone had broken due to the fall. It was just then Abigail realized that she was not in the bathroom of her own room. Earlier she had been too scared and busy with Mr Reed to notice. And her phone looked very different, much older.

Mr Reed leaned lightly against the golden wall of the bathroom, he did not utter a word, and regarded Abigail, quietly.

Abigail's fingers ruffled through her brown hair, clutching a handful with her hand in annoyance. She turned to Mr Reed. "My phone is broken, can you lend me your phone?"

Asher Reed stared at her carefully. His eyes were icy cold, piercing deep into the soul of her blue orbs. It made Abigail become more tense, her legs weakening from intense fear and nervousness. "I..I just want to check the time"

He thought deeply, before handing his phone to her. Abigail didn't need to unlock the phone, she could see the date boldly displayed on the screen when it turned on.

It was exactly the same as the date on her phone. Two years later from the time she remembered.

She held the phone tightly, turning to meet Mr Reed green irises. "What year is it?" She asked cautiously.

He didn't respond, he simply pointed at the date on the phone.

"It can't be" She took a step back. Abigail's lips released an unusual laughter which morphed quickly into broken sobs. She returned the phone to him.

Mr Reed was not surprised by Abigail's absentminded state, he had dealt with it so many times already. He went to her and took her hand, pulling her out from the bathroom.

She was seated on the sofa in the bedroom, and after some minutes, Abigail calmed down. Her eyes scanned the large bedroom, finally landing on Mr Reed who was seating far from her, working on his tablet. Abigail cleared her throat, tilting her head to him. "Is this your room, Mr Reed?" She looked around again, no matter how hard she tried to remember, Abigail couldn't remember how she came to Mr Reed house, let alone his room.

"Hmmm" He focused on his tablet.

Abigail held her hands together in an attempt to quell her reckless anxiety. She was increasingly sure that she had somehow travelled two years into the future. It was unbelievable, but the cruel reality made her believe it without a doubt.

But what happened these last two years? How did she gain so much weight and turned into a fat girl? And why was she here with Mr Reed?

Abigail shut her eyes tightly with the hope of returning back to the year she remembered, she took several deep breaths, when she opened her eyes nothing had changed. She was still in Mr Reed bedroom, and he was firmly positioned opposite her. She did not cross back.

Abigail wanted to cry, but she knew it wouldn't change anything. She had alot of questions to ask, but one at a time.

"Mr Reed, why am here in your room?" She waited for his answer but he didn't say a word, even as much glance her way not until he was done working on his tablet. Mr Reed gracefully rose from his seat, and strode closer to her, holding something more in his hand. At this time, Abigail touched the back of her head and she cried in pain…..
