My Savior

Chapter One

My Savior

Two Years Later

Eliza's POV

The morning sun seeped into the room and it shown on my face, I cranked my eyes open one after the other and stared blankly at the ceiling of my one room apartment.

I sighed after imagining the long day in front of me, it was the same routine, waking up and going to the coffee shop, being belittled and humiliated by the customers.

I jumped down from the bed and rubbed my eyes, the last thing I would want was getting late to the coffee shop, my boss wouldn't take it lightly with me.

I walked into the bathroom and washed my face in the sink, I leaned on it afterwards and stared into the mirror, and what comes to my mind whenever I do that was my sister.

The last time I set my eyes on Emily was two years back when she came to visit me in the hospital, she was pregnant at that time and she also told me that she would be getting married soon, it was all like a dream to me, she disappeared after that.

I didn't know what I did to her to deserve that, I knew I had cost her so much, she had to take up many job to take care of my cancer, she was always there for me and I had always imagined paying her back after I get back on my feet, but she was nowhere to be found after that.

Emily left me all alone, I appreciated her taking good care of me, but she left me at the point I needed her the most, she left me to die, she didn't even look back, it's been two years and she never came to see me.

I would have been dead if not for the man who saved me, I haven't met him before, he was my savior, and I would want to pay him back like I had promised.

I sighed as I stepped under the shower, my life has been a mess since I woke up from coma after that surgery, I had nothing, I had always depended on Emily, she was always there for me since our parents death.

In some way, I felt like Emily would have an explanation for leaving me alone, and I was waiting patiently for the day she would come for me, I believed that she was going to come someday, I was going to see my sister again, and I was going to listen to her reason for leaving me.

I sniffled, that was when I realized that I was crying, I missed her so much, she was all I ever had, she was my only family.

Since our parents death, I had to battle with cancer, and I eventually dropped out of school at the elementary stage because of bullying, my classmates would always bully me and remind me everyday that I had cancer and I was going to die soon.

They even made up the story that cancer was contagious and anyone who goes close to me would get it too, I couldn't cope with that, I had to stop going to the school.

I stepped back into the room, and picked up the clothe I would be wearing for the day, while I ruminated over what my boss told me the day before.

She said they would be changing a lot of things in the shop in the coming month, and that would start with the workers, so I would have to stop working there. She promised that she was going to call me back if things work out and I trusted her with that because she has always been good to me, and she makes me remember Emily most times.

I slid into my pair of black jeans and a white shirt, I wore a white sneakers and a black bag hung across my shoulder.

I stepped out of the house and stumbled to the street, I was saving up to buy a new phone so I could put my sim card back in, I felt like Emily might have been calling to get to me.

I had to sell the phone and some of my belongings to get an apartment after getting back from the hospital.

I flagged down a cab and headed for the coffee shop. Few minutes later, I got there and I was glad that I wasn't late, my boss was nice to me but one thing she hated was lateness and I always tried to avoid that.

I walked into the shop and picked up my apron, I started with watching the cups that was used the day before.

That was how my day starts everyday, I also wanted to get a job in a big company, I wanted to wear a corporate shirt and a cute skirt, but how could I do that when I didn't even go to school, I had to drop out at elementary school.

I was still watching the cups when the boss walked up to me.

"Eliza, there is someone out there who wants to see you," she informed.

"See me?," I asked and the first person who came to my mind was Emily, she might be the one who came to see me, I felt a sudden happiness and I almost shouted, "You mean someone is out there to see me?," I asked for confirmation because I still couldn't believe it.

"Yes Eliza, there's a black car outside, the.."

"Thank you," I didn't wait for her to finish what she was going to say before rushing out of the shop, I even forgot to pull off my apron.

I could see the black car as I stepped out of the shop, I became scared suddenly, I didn't know why that happened but I could feel my heart racing.

I stopped and sighed, trying to calm myself down, I counted and took a deep breath, then I ran to the car.

It was a black car, the glass was also tinted and it was almost impossible to see what was going on inside.

I knocked on the door, hoping that would be the best day of my life if I saw Emily again, I was so anxious.

I knocked again and the door came open, a hand came out and pulled me into the car.

I thought it was going to be my sister, but it was some guys cladded in black suits.
