9. Feeling betrayed

Working with Mr Galanti was, for lack of a better word, crazy.

He was meticulous when it came to work so it meant everything I did had to be perfect. My reports had to show extreme details, down to the smallest ones, or he would be left unsatisfied.

Zara told me he was too demanding which was why his secretaries usually quit whenever the work got too tough and that was equally why the salary for being his secretary skyrocketed. Mr Galanti, however, didn’t see any problem with himself. He believed he just had lazy secretaries who refused to do their work the right way.

As though he was summoned by my thoughts, the telephone by my desk rang. I picked it up with a, “Hello. This is GG Enterprise. How may I help you?”

“Come to my office.” I heard the familiar voice of my boss before he hung up abruptly, not waiting for me to reply. I’d been working for him for more than a week now but I still wasn’t used to his curt approach.
