Tyler's POV

I woke up with a throbbing pain in my head.

The pain was so intense that I had to lay completely still for a moment without opening my eyes, letting my brain catch up with the rest of me before I attempted anything more complicated than breathing.

The surface beneath me was a hard one this time not a sofa. The air smelt and felt different too.

I slowly opened my eyes. The ceiling above me was low and unpainted. A single bare bulb in an old fixture. Concrete walls. A thin strip o

  • The Billoniare's Fake Husband    Home Sweet chaos

Quin's POV Sitting beside Tyler felt surreal. For the last thirty-two hours, finding him had been the only thing that mattered. Now he was sitting less than two feet away from me with his head resting against the window and his eyes closed. Safe and alive. I still hadn't fully processed it. Even after calling Ethan to help with getting him out I prayed and hoped he was ok. The moment I had gotten into the elevator leaving the board meeting I contacted him without a single second of hesitation. He had confirmed availability in under minutes. Ethan was an ex military personal who owned a security company. It made perfect sense to involve him even if it was a last minute call. He was one of the few people I trusted in situations that required competence like this. He also owed me a favor from a few years ago. A favor I had collected without hesitation. Aiden had been surprisingly foolish. He had spent so much time planning how to take Tyler and kept him away that he'd apparentl

  • The Billoniare's Fake Husband    The Rescue

Tyler's POV I woke up with a throbbing pain in my head. A thin strip of grey daylight coming through a small window set high in the far wall, close to the ceiling, the kind of window that existed for ventilation rather than visibility. I was in a basement. And I was moved here while I was unconscious. I sat up slowly and my head disagreed with the whole idea of me moving at all. I sat up anyway, pressing the heel of my bound hands against my temple and waiting for the worst of the spinning to settle. The back of my skull was tender in one specific spot that corr

  • The Billoniare's Fake Husband    The Devil walks into the Board room

Quin's POVI had been standing in front of the window for more than thirty minutes with my phone in my hand and Jake's last update sitting in my head, with Tyler's face from the video sitting behind my eyes, and I had told myself I was thinking strategically and giving Jake the time he needed to break through the Shanghai relay and find the precise location. The truth was that I didn't know which direction to move in yet, and moving in the wrong direction cost time I currently didn't have, so I was standing at the window watching the city operate without me and waiting for something certain to arrive.I hated the waiting part of all this.My phone rang. I looked at it and frowned before answering. Claire called my personal number approximately twice a year, and both times had been genuine emergencies."Mr. McKenzie." Her voice came out low. "I'm sorry to bother you. I know you're dealing with something.""What is it, Claire?""There's a board meeting this morning."I looked out the wi

  • The Billoniare's Fake Husband    The Demand

Quin's POVSleeping wasn't even an option at the moment. How could I sleep when the only reason I've gotten a good sleep for the past few weeks was missing.I was still at my desk when the city outside the window shifted from the deep grey of pre-dawn into the pale reluctant light of early morning. I had been sitting there since two in the morning going through everything Jake had sent across during the night. Financial records, property documents, associate names, company registrations going back years. I had read all of it multiple times, marked everything relevant, called Jake at four in the morning to go through three specific names that kept appearing across different documents in ways that didn't feel accidental.Jake had answered on the first ring.We talked for almost an hour . After that I had sat with everything spread across the desk and my cold coffee and the quiet apartment.By six in the morning I had been through everything Jake had sent and was at the window watching t

  • The Billoniare's Fake Husband    Almost made it

Tyler's POVThe zip tie had a breaking point.I knew it did because everything had a breaking point. That was the only thought I allowed myself to hold onto as I pressed my wrists against the corner of the table and pulled. The plastic bit into my skin immediately, sharp and insistent, sending a burning sensation up both arms that I breathed through and ignored.I pulled and held. I continued with determination. The angle was wrong. I adjusted, shifting my weight forward on the sofa and repositioning my wrists so the corner of the table caught the plastic at a different point. I could feel the slight give now, barely there but present, like the first hairline crack in something that was about to break properly.I pulled harder. The burn in my wrists intensified but I kept going.I was so focused on the table corner and the pressure that I almost missed the slight change in the sound from the hallway outside. Footsteps that had been moving in a regular pattern, back and forth went comp

  • The Billoniare's Fake Husband    A Bargaining Chip

Tyler's Pov My neck felt heavy. Like I had been carrying something really big on it.I slowly opened my eyes but was met with disappointment.I was still in Aiden's house. I was really hoping it was a bad dream. I had gotten tired from looking for what to use to cut the zip tie loose. I couldn't even remember falling asleep the previous night.I adjusted myself on the couch and tried to stretch, checking first to make sure Aiden hadn't returned to do anything sketchy while I was unconscious. The room looked exactly as it had the night before.I was alone. For now.I sat up slowly and took stock of my body. My neck still throbbed where I had been hit. My wrists were sore from the zip tie, the skin around it tender from the times I had pulled against it during the night. My back ached from sleeping on a sofa that was comfortable enough for sitting and considerably less comfortable for an entire night of restless half-sleep.Everything else was functional.I looked around the room again

  • The Billoniare's Fake Husband    One Hell of an Entertainment

Quin’s POVDinner with my parents was an absolute disaster. But I don't care because my father won't have a reason to not give me what belongs to me all in the name of marriage.I still don't know why he thinks marriage is that important. I'd rather get myself different playthings than to be tied t

  • The Billoniare's Fake Husband    Dinner with my Fake Husband's parents

Tyler’s POVI should not be this nervous, it's just dinner. That thought had been going through my head for the past ten minutes as I stood in front of the mirror, adjusting my sleeve for no real reason other than the fact that my hands refused to stay still. I’d already fixed it more times than ne

  • The Billoniare's Fake Husband     Moving in with the Devil

Tyler's POV I should have said no.I should have stood my ground. That was the thought running through my head as I stood outside my apartment building later that afternoon, staring at the black SUV parked by the curb like it was some kind of threat.Because that’s exactly what it felt like. A thre

  • The Billoniare's Fake Husband    Sealed Deal

Tyler’s POVThe contract was obviously thicker than the one Quin had emailed me the night before. That was the first thing I noticed when he slid the document across the desk which was official looking enough to make my stomach tighten.I picked it up slowly.“it looks more than what you sent. You
