Lucy looked around in search for Katherine but could not find her. She inquired of her from every maids she came across but none of them could tell where she was, nor where she had gone to.
Lucy became restless as negative thoughts came rushing down her mind. she shook her head swiftly and sat on a rock, determined to wait for her arrival and since there was nothing to be done at the moment after being relieved from her punishment, it was the best thing to do.
She sat on a wooden chair and bowed her head, strands of her hair around her forehead. Her legs constantly shaking, tapping the ground consistently and producing a rhythm sound. She shifted the chair on which she sat on, her eyes darting over the space like a hummingbird flitting from blossom to flower.
Her leg bounced with an uncontrollable amount of energy as she nervously drummed her fingers on her laps. She couldn't stay still for more than a few seconds, and it was obvious that she was impatient as she fidgeted, groaned, and sometimes glanced at the sky. It was obvious that she was thinking about something, and her agitated posture was a mirror of the internal struggle she was going through.
"Katherine, I don't have all day… I could be summoned any time, where are you?" She stood up in a swift and maneuvered down to a big tree. She rested her back against it.
In no time. She looked up and noticed Ethan who passed by. She recollected that she had seen him at the time she sat on the chair but wasn't looking, probably because she was lost in her own thoughts.
She was able to recognize him as the guard of Leo since she saw him on the training ground when she stopped to watch Leo.
She looked away immediately when she made a brief eye contact with him.
"Why is he just standing there? There's no one here for him to meet or oversee other than me" She pondered, her shoulder slightly raised.
She neglected the guard and looked out for Katherine, tilting and propelling her head forward and sideways. She got up in a hurry when she spotted Katherine coming her way while talking with another maid.
She folded her arms, her heart raced faster than usual. She soon wandered around with her eyes and noticed the guard was no longer around. She was less worried and more concerned about the words Katherine would say.
She waved her hands so Katherine would see her as she was delved into her conversation with the other maid. Katherine seemed to be carried away and did not notice Lucy.
Lucy rushed in haste and screamed out her name.
"Lucy, I haven't seen you in a few hours…" Katherine said as maneuvered down to Lucy's spot.
"Yeah, I lost control of myself and eventually fainted," She whooped with a deep sigh.
"You mean, you fainted… and how did you lose control of yourself," Katherine questioned with curiosity.
Lucy stared into her eyes as she could sense within herself that Katherine already had a glimpse of what she was talking about as Katherine gulped and ran her hands through her hair.
"I got angry because Leo rejected me and I blamed my best friend for it… She tried to apologize but I was overwhelmed by my anger and my eyes shifted its color,"
Katherine kept mute, her gaze pressed on Lucy as she narrated what happened.
"Katherine, Katherine," Lucy said with a low tone, wavering her palm close to her face.
She tapped her on her shoulder and slightly pushed her backward. Katherine was startled, her face looked sweaty. She wagged her head as she seemed to be lost in her thoughts already.
"Where do you stop," She questioned
"Where did you stop listening," Lucy retorted. "Don't lie to me Katherine, you know something," She held her on either side of her shoulder.
"What are you not telling me Katherine, I need to know who locked my powers and why," Lucy shook her still holding on to her shoulders.
Her expression changed from one of wonder to one of realization, her eyes expanding as the reality hit in.
A faint sense of doubt passed over her as the understanding of reality set in. Her lips appeared to part as she hesitated between unsaid words, and her eyes grew wider, captured in a moment of shock.
There was an awkward pause in the air as a flash of embarrassment mixed with surprise on her features. She was at a loss for words for a time, as though she had seen a glimpse of something she wasn't ready to face.
She stammered as she strived to gather her words.
"We can't talk now, this is not the right time," Katherine coughed
Lucy was about to hurl at her but Katherine subtly shifted her gaze, her eyes flicking towards the surroundings. With a barely perceptible movement, she raised her eyebrows and gave
Lucy a quick, meaningful look.
It was a silent communication, a signal that spoke volumes about the unseen observers. Her body language tightened slightly, a subtle indication that caution was required.
Lucy knew immediately who it could be and made a gesture with her eyes so that Katherine would catch up with her as she walked away from her.
Katherine followed after her, leaving her post and soon caught up with her. Lucy stood on a spot, her chest lingering and her heartbeat raced faster than usual. She knew she was about to hear from Katherine the whole truth she had been hiding from her.
She contemplated within herself if she was ready or not. She stared at Katherine as she got nearer but Katherine could not bring herself to stare back at her.
She slightly bowed her head and apologized for everything that happened.
"What's with the apology, you haven't done anything except for what you've been hiding," She reached for her shoulder and rubbed her gently.
"You'll get to understand, soon," She whispered and cleared her throat.
Lucy's POVIn the softly lit room's hush, Katherine's words broke the silence, gently revealing the details of who I was. With each word, the room filled with the gravity of revelations, hinting at changes in how I saw myself and understood my life. The calmness of the room allowed her voice to weave a narrative that unfolded slowly, like the petals of a flower opening to the sunlight. In a quiet moment, Katherine, her voice adopted a gentle cadence tinged with a touch of apprehension, initiated a conversation with me."Lucy, it's time you learn the truth about your family and where you come from," She expressed, her gaze fixed on me.My eyes widened with curiosity as I took a deep breath in, more than ready to know the whole truth about myself. In that moment, a sense of expectation hung in the air and I could feel the anticipation building within me as I prepared to hear a story that held the potential to transform the core of who I thought I was."Mason," the name slipped from Kath
"Argh argghhhh," Lucy yelled as she ran with every strength she had got.As Lucy ran faster, she felt really scared. Fear made her heart beat faster and her body trembled. She wanted to escape so badly, feeling like she had to survive no matter what. Her heart raced as she dashed through the bushes. She could hear the other wolves chasing after her, their scary growls echoing through the woods. It reminded her how dangerous the situation was.Lucy was sweating a lot, and tears mixed with the dirt on her face. She kept running, even though she was getting really tired. Breathing was hard, and her legs felt heavy, like they might give out at any moment.Fear gripped her heart as she realized she was being pursued, the sound of snapping twigs and heavy panting growing louder with each passing moment. She turned her head to notice the wolves that were after her and could see they were closer than before. Their howls and growls grew louder as if they were ready to pounce on her the moment
Lucy hurried through the bustling field of the Moonshine pack, her heart pounding in her chest as she made her way back to the Royal residence where Isabella, the adopted daughter of the Alpha, resided. The events of the past few hours swirled through her mind like a whirlwind, leaving her feeling disoriented and on edge.As she approached the doorstep of Isabella, Lucy's steps faltered for a moment, her mind filled with apprehension at the thought of facing Isabella's wrath. She knew she had acted recklessly, disappearing for a few hours without reporting back to her post and without a word to anyone and she braced herself for the scolding she was sure to receive. But as she entered through the doorstep, her fears were realized when she came face to face with Isabella, who stood waiting for her with a stern expression on her face. "Lucy," she chided, her voice tinged with frustration, "where have you been? You know better than to wander off without permission."Lucy hung her head, u
With Alpha Eric standing in front of her, Lucy felt her heart drop to her stomach. She felt a chill run down her spine as his massive, menacing form stood tall in the doorway, his stern eyes locked on her.Lucy realized at that very instant that she was in serious jeopardy. Lucy," Alpha Eric's voice boomed, cutting through the silence like a thunderclap. "What is the meaning of this?"Lucy's throat went dry as she struggled to form a coherent response. She could feel the weight of his gaze bearing down on her, his piercing eyes seeming to bore into her very soul. She knew that she had to choose her words carefully, for any misstep could spell disaster."Alpha Eric," she began, her voice trembling slightly despite her efforts to maintain composure. "I... I was just..."But before she could finish her sentence, Alpha Eric's expression hardened into a mask of displeasure."Save your excuses, Lucy," he snapped, his voice cutting like a knife through the air. "I will not tolerate this act
Lucy ran with every strength she'd got, crashing through the bushes and tall grasses of the forest, stumping on dried leaves and branches so that they made some creaking sounds. She peeked behind her, constantly as she made an effort to lose the guards that ran after her. She gasped and breathed heavily, holding on to the wish to outrun them. It was either to stop and be captured or run and stay alive. She could hear the sound of their footsteps which became more audible as she ran. The sound of their growls was scary enough to make her quiver and made her have thoughts of what might happen if she was to be caught She merely escaped from the Moonshine pack where she had to labor as a handmaid in the Royal residence of Alpha Eric and Luna Ava. Though she didn't work directly for them but for their daughter, Isabella. Though Isabella was not the biological daughter of Alpha Eric. She was the daughter of his Beta who died alongside him with his mate during a war. Alpha Eric had to tak
Lucy opened her eyes which were still blurry. She shook her head swiftly as she endeavored to notice all that surrounded her. Being oblivious to her surroundings, it took her a while before she detected the iron door that was fixed to the wall, keeping her from breaking out, and the dried leaves that were strewn all over the ground. She was struck with fear when a rat squeaked by, climbing over her back. She moved with great rapidity and with a sudden sharp scream. Her legs dangled, scattering the leaves as she crawled hurriedly and leaned her back against the wall. She gasped for breath as it took a toll on her. "Hey, Katherine... You're here," She whispered, her heart racing faster than usual, and maneuvered hastily to where Katherine was. She was unconscious, she tilted her head swiftly so she opened her eyes but it was all in vain. Her head bleeds and there were spots on her face, so obvious that anyone could tell she received an intensified beating. Katherine was the one who as
Lucy walked under the fiery sun, sweating profusely as she made her way to the room where she was kept with Katherine. She hurried away without stopping not until she bumped into Isabella who was already standing in her way. She shrugged and immediately bowed her head. "Where are you off to in such a hurry," Isabella smirked and dared to reach out for her jaw, lifting her head slightly upward so she would make eye contact with her. Lucy struggled as she didn't want that but received a resounding slap that weakened her, causing her eyes to become fuzzy. "You look at me when I'm talking to you," Isabella vocalized with a sharp tone. Lucy slowly raised her head high up and stared at Isabella, solemnly with a straight face. She was angered, every instinct of her body telling her to fight back but she decided to keep her calm. Her eyes caught Marie who stood behind Isabella. Marie fixed her eyes on her for a moment but then, Lucy was smart enough to read the look on her face as it gav
"How could I perceive this scent, how is this possible," Lucy said in a low tone with her lips partly apart. "I don't even have my wolf yet," She pondered as she trod along the path which the scent she perceived had taken her to. She watched back and forth to see if anyone was following her trail as she could not be found roaming about in such a restricted area. The scent became stronger and soon sensed it must be Leo. She was brought to a stop when she got to a balcony that looked like an abandoned site. She sighted no one but yet, it was the place the scent stopped. She proceeded stealthily without her foot, making a slight sound. "Leo,' She uttered with a soft voice when she sighted him, standing only a few strides away from her. He looked fit in his black jacket and black jeans as he seemed to stand in a stance. "Lucy, you are here, how come," Leo said as he turned around to notice her. Lucy didn't get what he meant by his words, rather, she rushed at him and embraced him firml
