Chapter 26

Connor woke me two hours before my family woke up as he always does.

We walked back to my yard together after he helped me gather all my things.

Once we got to the edge of my yard, I turned and planted a small kiss to his lips.

" I won't see you tonight because I'll be with Tasha, but stay safe so I can see you the next night," I say.

" Don't worry about me. I'll be fine. Now go. Enjoy time with your friends and family. I'll see you soon," says Connor, smiling at me.

I smiled and hugged him before turning and running to my house.

I slipped through the back door and locked it behind me before turning and walking as fast and quietly to my room as I could.

I close my room door and change into my pajamas. I then slip into my bed and fall asleep fast.

John wakes me up two hours later and tells me that Kurt will be leaving the pack hospital today, and that we're going to be out front to see him.

Alpha George is working so he's not going to be able to be there for him.

So John offered our assistance to help Luna Chloe help her son get settled back into his room.

He's still a bit hurt, but not enough to be in the pack hospital anymore.

However, he will be in bed to rest for about four days before he can get up and walk around all he wants.

I nodded and hurried into the bathroom. I took a quick shower, and brushed my teeth.

I then combed my hair and put it in a nice braid before rushing downstairs to meet John.

John handed me a blueberry muffin.

My mother must have made some before she left today.

I took it gratefully and ate it as I left with John to go to the pack hospital.

We got there to wait for Kurt and Luna Chloe to come out in record time.

About ten minutes later, Luna Chloe walks out with Kurt right next to her.

When he spots us he grins. We grin back. Luna Chloe, John and I walk around him as he walks in case he needs help.

I highly doubt it though. Kurt is the son of an Alpha. He's strong and can walk on his own without us being around him for help.

However, we still worried about him and Luna Chloe wanted us to be there just in case.

Alpha's house is in a very secure area, but given the fact of what's been going on with the rogue attacks and the escaped prisoners from Alpha Conan's pack, Alpha George, and Luna Chloe have been staying on the top floor of the pack house.

There are many bedrooms in the packed house in case a major attack happens and the women and children have to stay there for shelter and a place to sleep till it's safe.

The top floor has enough room for Alpha's family, the bête's family and the third-in-command family to stay.

The biggest rooms are for Alpha and his family.

John and I followed Luna, Chloe and Kurt into the packed house and up the steps to the top floor.

Once we finally made it there, we led Kurt into the room next to the Alpha and Luna's.

We help him get settled in bed and make sure that he's got whatever he needs.

" Amber, would you please go and get some water for Kurt downstairs?" asks Luna Chloe.

" I would love to," I said, before turning and walking out of the room and practically skipping down the stairs. Yes, skipping. Mostly because not only is it fun, it gets me down the steps faster.

I then walk into the kitchen and grab a cup. I filled it with water and turned off the sink before hurrying out of the kitchen and making my way back up the steps towards Kurt's room.

I walked into the room and handed it over to Kurt. He thanks me for it before taking a sip of it and setting it onto the desk next to him.

We spent a while with him before John and I had to leave.

I said bye to John before making my way over to Tasha's.

We had spent a lot of the day helping out with Kurt.

It was just after super time and I had grabbed something to eat before heading over to Tasha.

I knocked on the door and about ten seconds later, Tasha's mom opened the door.

" Hello." I say.

" Ah Amber. So glad you could come. Tasha's in her room getting things set for tonight," says her mom, letting me in.

I quickly thanked her before I hurried up to Tasha's room.

I knocked on the door twice before gently opening it. " Tasha said," I'm here."

" Well, don't just stand there with the door open. Get your butt in here and close it," says Tasha.

I laughed before walking in and closing the door behind me.

Tasha is sitting in her bed. There's a big blow-up mattress a few feet away from her bed.

She pats the side of the bed for me to sit, which I do.

" So, I heard you helped out with Kurt today?" she says.

I nod. " Yeah, we helped him get comfy in his room and stayed to talk for a bit before leaving," I say.

She looks at me and I can tell she wants to ask me a few things about my mate. " Go ahead and ask what you want," I say.

" How did you two meet?" she says.

" Well, after I had run away after dad made me made by not believing us about the rogue attack, I ran into a deep part of the woods, then I came across his scent. I felt his presence and looked behind me to see his wolf standing a few feet away from me. We made eye contact and that's when things fell into place. I didn't find out he was an escaped prisoner till later. However, I knew he didn't do what he was arrested for. He just doesn't seem like the guy who would ever do something like that," I say.

" That's pretty cute. What does his wolf look like?" she asks, grinning.

" His wolf is a few different shades of grey and his eyes are solid blue," I say.

" Really? I thought with him being Alpha's son, his wolf would be black like most are?" she says.

" I thought so too. His wolf is beautiful. He's also the only person I've ever known to have as blue eyes as a wolf. I haven't even heard of anyone wolf with blue eyes," I say.

" Same here. Isn't his father's wolf black?" says Tasha.

I nod. " I think so. It may be something in his family. You never know." I say.

She nods. " I also have something to tell you."

I nod. " I think my mate was somewhere in the woods last night. I didn't smell his scent or sense his presence, but my wolf was going crazy. I don't know what it was and the only thing that came to mind was mate," says Tasha.

" Well, that's great if it is your mate," I say.

She nods. " Do you think when my family goes to bed we can go see your mate and hopefully see if we can find my mate if he is in the woods?" Says Tasha.

I nod and grin. " Of course. I know my mate would love to help us," I say.

She grins, and with that we talk and do the only thing we can do till her family falls asleep. Wait.
