The Blue Eyed Wolf

If there's one thing my wolf and I agree on more than anything, it's how much I hate rules.

You see, my name is Amber, and I'm the daughter of a bête in the Grey Wolf Pack.

My dad is pretty strict, he likes people to follow the rules and the orders they are given without question. My older brother John is just like him, and soon he will be the next bête.

My mother and I, well, were a different story. My mother is sweet and kind and will do what she has to, to help keep us and this pack safe.

As for me, I don't like rules. It makes me feel like I'm going to blow at any second. I'm 17 years old, and my dad wants me to act all super grown up, strong and fearless.

I just want to be free to make my own choices and do what I want, and my wolf agrees. She gets angry all the time when we're yelled at in front of large groups of wolves or my friends for getting distracted and forgetting to follow a rule or order.

I'm very different, but I don't care. To me, it makes me feel unique at times.

Tonight there will be a party held for another pack and my packs at our house, and my dad wants me to go and act all grown up. I will try my best to act grown up.

Right now, I'm getting my clothes set out for the party with my best friend ever. Tasha.

She had always been there for me, when we were in school, or anywhere. She was with me and stood up for me. We've been friends since we were little kids.

" What do you think about this dress?" I ask, holding up a navy blue dress that goes down a little way past my knees.

Tasha looks and gasps. " Oh my gosh, Amber, that would look stunning on you. Oh, oh and use these shoes," she says, showing me a pair of matching shoes.

I smiled and nodded. She searched and searched till she finally found her dress. She got a red dress that went down to just above her knees, with a v-neck and short straps, plus shoes to match. " Amber, I love this dress. It's amazing!!" She cried. I nod in agreement.

I chuckled. It was now three hours till we had to leave for the packed house for the party. So we decided to get ready now. " Race you there," I say.

I then ran into the bathroom first and locked the door. I was laughing as I took a quick shower with Tasha yelling and banging on the door. " NOT FAIR AMBER, YOU GOT A HEAD START!!" She yelled. Soon enough though, she stopped and waited for me to get out.

A few moments later, I slipped out of the shower, dried off and slipped on the dress, I then put on the shoes and let my hair air dry. It was dark brown and naturally curly, and went to my mid back.

I quickly did my make-up and stepped towards the door to open it. The second the door was opened, I was facing an angry Tasha.

I smiled. " Don't worry, it's your turn now," I said, grinning.

She rolled her eyes at me, slipped by me into the bathroom and closed the door behind her.

I went to the body mirror my mother gave me and checked on how I looked. The dress I wore fit my body perfectly. It was one of my favorite dresses.

Soon Tasha came out, and it was now two hours till we had to leave, so we went downstairs and sat on the couch to watch some TV to pass the time.

We were watching Person of Interest till my dad walked through the front door.

" Amber, Tasha. Are you both ready?" he asks.

We switch off the TV and stand up. " Yes Sir." We both say.

" Good, let's go. The Alpha expects us there in 10 minutes to greet the guests when they arrive," he says, and with that he leads us out of the house, and we make our way to the Pack House, which isn't far from our house.

' Man, I really hate acting all grown at a party.' I think, complaining in my head.

' You and me both.'

That was my wolf talking to me. ' Yeah well, no matter how much we hate it, it's important to dad so we can't disobey his orders.' I think back.

' I know, I just wish we didn't have to follow these rules.' She thinks back, she sounded a bit disappointed, which is how I feel right now. ' It would be great to go for a run instead and enjoy a moment of freedom.'

I smile. ' Don't worry. Soon we will go for a run when this party is all over.' I think back.

She doesn't reply, but I can tell she's happy.

" Amber, are you even listening?" Snapped my dad.

I snapped out of my thought and looked at him. " Sorry dad," I say.

He sighs. " Amber. Stop daydreaming and getting lost in thoughts. You need to be more concentrated on other things."

I nod. " Yes Sir. I'll try harder."

He just shakes his head and turns his head to look back at the road. " What I was trying to tell you was, I need you and Tasha to be on your best behavior tonight. We have another pack coming to this party and I don't have time for childish games."

I nod again. " Yes Sir. We will behave." Tasha nodded.

My dad nods and soon we make it to the packed house. He opens the doors and let us go in first. " You both look very nice, by the way," says dad.

I smiled up at him. " I'm going to go talk to the Alpha. You two behave." He says, then he leaves to go find the Alpha.

Tasha and I hung out for a while till members of my pack and the other's pack filled the place and that's when the party finally started.
