By the time the lunch bell rang, I was already outside, flanked by foluke and Meredith. Ray had called Stacy to come pick us up. We were talking about the homecoming dance when stacy's car pulled up beside us.
"Who the hell is that _?" Foluke said immediately Stacy stepped out of her blue van."Ray's nanny." I repliedIf eyes could pop out and jaws could reach the floor, theirs just did."Anyways, that's my ride." I said waving at them and ran to meet up with Stacy."Ray called me." She said, "Where's he by the way?""Really? Thought he was here?" I said."Nope. He said to come pick you up." Stacy rolled her eyes. "Hop in the car.""Oh." I sat silently all through the car ride till we got home, my mind wandering. Where did he go?When we finally arrived the house, I couldn't wait to get out of the car that I tripped a billion time on my leg.The house was sparkling and had a faint smell of lemon. I sighed in relief, never have I been so hI have never woken up so early my entire life. I woke up exactly 7'0clock, feeling so happy and refreshed. I was dressed in tights and sneakers with a pretty t-shirt and put on my favorite strawberry lipstick.I smiled inwardly and went down the kitchen.Ray wasn't in the kitchen yet except Alain who was studying for a biology test. Prior to yesterday's event, he looked calm. Like nothing ever happened."I hate biology." Alaine said, handing me a sandwich but not quite looking at me.I took a bite and was about saying something when I got interrupted."I quite like biology." Ray announced.I turned around, eager to see him. For heaven's sake Emmy. Stop acting like a lost puppy. InHis hair was was extremely messy, sticking out in every possible way and his green eyes were dull."I would say take a picture it last longer. But we both know you already have." Ray said when he caught me staring.

I got out of the car, carefully bundling up my dress so that it didn't get soiled. It was the home coming ball today, and Meredith had taken time to do my makeup. She did everything to perfection I could hardly believe it was me in the mirror when I saw myself. The Roman baked powder she used on my face was such a fine blend you wouldn't know I had on powder. For my lips, she used nude lipstick and topped it with gloss, that my already plump lips become plumpier, full and glittering. The person right in the mirror wasn't me. I could attest to that."Okay." Meredith said, "I want plenty of pictures and you better have a dance. Mascara is water proof just incase there's any drama. Your lipgloss and mascara are all in your purse."I smiled. "Aren't you coming?"Meredith smiled. "Best of luck . I've got plenty of things to do. Curfew is to not return home before midnight." She said and drove off.I laughed and suddenly butterflies erupted
The cheers was deafening.Alaine shook his head and held out his hands for me to take and I grabbed it.The crowd continued to clap and I couldn't help but smile. "Fine, I too can dance with whomever I like." Mitchell said and stalked off to were Ray stood, yanking him towards her."Hey!" I shouted, taking a step towards but moved back when the entire crowd turned to look at me."Can I have this dance?" Alaine said smiling.I smiled. "Sorry, I wasn't expecting this drama."He laughed. "It's okay. Besides, it's high time Mitchell and I had a dance with someone other than each other.""Mitchell would freak out if she heard you say that. I said, "I mean for the first time she's loosing her place as the homecoming queen.""We broke up." He blurted out.I have him a blank look as he wrapped his hands around my waist and I instinctively put mine around his neck as we moved in rhythmn with the slow s
The doorbell dinged donged. A sign that someone was at the door.I really didn't want to go down. I just wanted to stay up in my room all day and think about my life. I didn't need any disturbances. The bell rang again for the upteenth time and I swore. God save me if that was Ray. On a second thought, Ray wouldn't knock neither would Alain. I wasn't expecting anyone, where they?Sluggishly, I went out of my room and took the stairs one at a time. I got to the door and flung it open. "Mum!" I screamed in surprise."when did you get back? I've missed you so much!""Two hours ago, love." She pecked me on both cheeks. "How come you're the only one home?""Ray and I fell out." I said, "I left him behind, didn't think I could stomach him.""Oh dear, what happened?" She asked with a worried expression, "Wasn't today supposed to be homecoming?""Exactly!" I concurred , "Homecoming happened! He kissed someone else.""
"I'm going to tell the whole world you killed me." I said, desperately holding on to the railing and trying not to fall."Oh, come on. It's fun!" Ray yelled, gliding past me."Easy for you to say." I replied, "You're not the one desperately trying not to fall.""Come on and quit whining!" Ray said, "leave the rails. If you fall, I'll catch you.""Or I could just stand here and hope that I do not make tomorrow's headlines of death by ice skating.""God! You're so dramatic." He retorted, running a finger into his hair. "Here." He extended his hands for me to hold on to and I laughed."You're crazy if you think I'm letting go." I said. "That's like the tenth time you're promising not to let me fall but you end up doing it anyway.""This is an easier option." He said."What's that?" I asked, narrowing my eyes."This." He said, circling his arms around my waist and picking me up. I was so shocked I let go of
I found somewhere quiet to sit and wiped away tears that had clouded my vision. I needed quiet. "Emmy." Ray said walking towards me."What do you want?" I asked heatedly. "I came her to get away from you, so you can save your explanation for who's interested.""Emmy, I'm sorry." He said, attempting to place a hand on my shoulder which I shook off. "I didn't mean it. All those things I said, I was just pissed off?"I took a step backward. "You were pissed off and you decided to take out your agression on me?"He looked frustrated, like he was going to cry. And I couldn't help but to think in that's moment how cute he looked. But I didn't tell him I'd already forgiven him even before he asked. That he'd won my heart a long time ago and I couldn't ignore him for long. I wasn't going to give him the satisfaction of that so I continued. "Don't you think I deserve to know what just happened there? Of course you don't! No one is deserving enou
"Faithful God!" I said looking at the tall glass building. "My dad works here?"""Yup!" Alaine replied tugging me through the warm cold lobby, "And the Stormwind's co-owns the building."I gasped, looking at the post surrounding. I knew the Stormwind's were rich. The building was up to 70 floors at most, made up of glass and stood proudly on a street called Blue street. My dad had called some hours ago minutes after Ray dropped me off at the hotel we were staying, and asked me to come over that he wanted show me his office. My dad worked here in New York, which was why he was never at home. But what I didn't know was that the building he worked in was owned by the Stormwind's. Alaine had offered to drive me here since he knew his way around and I wasn't willing to ask Ray to drive me here either. He was stressed already as it seemed."There are several offices here." Alaine piped in as the elevator door opened and dozens of white peop
