"Fuck! You're dead, today!"
"Hahaha... try it if you can, asshole!"
Aslan stepped on the gas harder. The highway was quieter at night, at least much quieter than in the daytime. Aslan laughed out loud, enjoying the adrenaline rush of speeding with his enemy.
A car horn sounded from behind. Aslan drove faster. He was not going to let his enemy win. This was not really a race. Aslan had just happened to run into a group of young men he'd beaten up a while back for being rude to him. They seemed to be holding a grudge. Aslan was alone this time, none of his minions were following him, so he hurriedly escaped in his car and created this indirect race.
"Bastards! Come down if you dare! Don't just hide behind your fancy car."
Aslan chuckled as the gang caught up with him. "Well, I know my car is fancy, thanks."
Aslan stepped on the gas again. The speed of the car increased dramatically. His pursuers fell farther and farther behind.
"Hahaha! Those rats can't keep up with me! Wohoo!"
Aslan was too busy looking in his rearview mirror to notice another vehicle coming from the opposite direction. He only noticed when the car's headlights shone on him and its horn honked loudly.
"Oh, shit!"
Aslan panicked, reflexively jerking the steering wheel to the side. He also tried to slam on the brakes as the car pulled into a gas station. Because of his speed, Aslan was unable to stop his car in time. The front of his car hit another car that happened to be parked at the gas station. The sound of the crash was quite loud.
"Damn it! I hit someone's car."
The car of the cowards chasing Aslan had stopped not far from the gas station. They saw Aslan's car swerve and hit another car at the gas station. As soon as they saw that, they quickly turned around and fled before they got involved.
Aslan touched his forehead. There was a small abrasion. But it was nothing to worry about right now.
"Ouch, now what?"
Inevitably, Aslan got out of his car to inspect it. He knocked on the glass of the car door and found no one inside. A small feeling of relief rose in his heart.
"Well, at least no one died," Aslan muttered to himself.
"But my car is badly damaged."
Someone suddenly spoke from behind Aslan's body. Aslan's heart pounded. He jumped in surprise at the person's arrival.
"Oh, my God! You scared the hell out of me!"
The man, dressed in a neat suit, crossed his arms over his chest and glared at Aslan.
Aslan cleared his throat. "So this is your car?"
"That's right, and you just wrecked it."
Aslan took a long breath. "Oh, come on, it's just a little scratched."
The man rolled his eyes. "A little?"
"Okay, okay, a lot. But your car is not broken."
"And how are you going to take responsibility for that, huh?"
Aslan scratched his neck. "Money. Okay, I'll give you money. You can go to a garage or hire a mechanic to fix it. How's that?"
The man smiled sarcastically. "Is that how you take responsibility? With money? Are you just a spoiled rich kid or something?"
Aslan snorted in annoyance. He hated being thought of that way most of all, although he was not wrong.
"Hey, I'm trying to be nice here. Don't make me angry."
The man just looked at Aslan with a lazy look in his eyes. Suddenly, he pulled out his cell phone and dialed someone. At first, Aslan thought the man was calling his family or perhaps a friend, but he was wrong. The man was calling a local cop.
"What the hell? You called the cops?!"
The man grinned. "Yeah, you got to take responsibility, you spoiled brat."
Aslan squeezed his own head. This is bad. This was really bad.
"Fuck! Why did you even call the cops? I can pay for your car, you know!"
Shortly after Aslan had argued with the man, the sound of cop sirens could be heard approaching. Aslan was confused. He wanted to get into his car and run away, but the man grabbed his arm.
"Watch out if you dare to run."
And so Aslan ended up at the police station. A fat policeman asked him a lot of questions. Aslan was really dizzy.
"Name?"
"Aslan."
"Aslan... who?"
Aslan took a long breath. "Kennedy."
"Second gender?"
Aslan chuckled in annoyance. "Is that necessary? I thought second gender was private."
"We're just doing a procedure to check your identity against the police database."
"I don't want to answer."
"How dare you resist a police officer."
Aslan stuck out his tongue. "I don't care!"
"You!"
The man who had reported him earlier suddenly approached. "That's all right, no need to force him, officer. Or... Just get your family here to pick you up."
Aslan gritted his teeth. "Fine! I'm a Beta."
The man raised an eyebrow. "Oh yeah?"
Aslan gave the man a sharp look. "What the hell are you talking about? I could clearly give you money to fix your crappy car, and instead you're taking me to the police station."
The man chuckled. "Nothing, I just wanted a spoiled brat like you to learn some manners."
"Fuck you!"
The man looked at the policeman dealing with Aslan. "Officer, can I have a little chat with him? I just want a little apology from him."
The policeman took a long breath and nodded. "Fine. Just don't let him out until his family gets here."
The man nodded. "Of course."
This time, Aslan was facing the man. He was too lazy to look at him. He was already annoyed.
"Come on, are you angry with me? Shouldn't I be angry with you?"
Aslan snorted. "Shut up."
"I'm Skylar, by the way. Skylar Reynolds."
"I don't need an introduction."
The man who claimed to be Skylar shrugged. "I just wanted you to know. You said earlier that your name was Aslan. Aslan Kennedy. Is it possible you're from the Kennedy family?"
Aslan's shoulders immediately stiffened when Skylar asked. He remained silent for a few moments, but Skylar continued to watch him.
"So it's true, huh?"
Aslan snorted. "No, probably just the same name. How many Kennedy names do you think there are in the world, huh?"
"Yeah, you're right. And why don't you tell me your second gender? I mean, that's a common thing when it comes to identity registration, right?"
Aslan looked at Skylar pointedly. "None of your business."
"So you don't want to contact your family? Or do you just want to stay at the police station until tomorrow?"
Skylar enjoyed the way Aslan's expression changed every time he asked a question. Skylar knew that Aslan was clearly not that much younger than he was. Maybe they were not that far apart in age, but Aslan's demeanor was much more childish.
Skylar kept trying to ask him things, and Aslan kept showing a distracted expression. They continued like this for a while, until three men in neat black suits entered the police station and spoke to the officers on duty.
"Are they your family or... your bodyguards?"
Aslan turned his head, and the look on his face immediately turned to annoyance. "Shit, why are they even here?"
Skylar continued to watch Aslan, then he chuckled, "So it's true? You're that Kennedy?"
"Shut up!"
"Mr. Aslan, we have to go. The matter with the cops is settled."
Aslan snorted in annoyance. "What the hell are you doing here?"
"Your brother asked us to come get Mr. Aslan."
Aslan exhaled heavily. "And how did Allen know I was at the police station?"
The three bodyguards did not answer Aslan's question. They quickly led Aslan out of the station. Skylar had overheard Aslan's conversation. He followed Aslan and the guards outside. The policemen, who had been so stern, were immediately subdued.
Just as Aslan got into his escort's car, Skylar waved with a grin.
"Hey, Ash, you still haven't compensated me yet for the damage to my car, remember?"
The bodyguards looked at Skylar. "We'll take care of your car right away. Please excuse us."
The car drove away. Skylar chuckled. "Trying to hide his true identity, huh? But why? If he's really from that Kennedy family, shouldn't he be proud of it? He's a Kennedy, so why is his second gender Beta? This Kennedy family, isn't it famous for having a bunch of alphas?"

For the first time in his life, Aslan felt comfortable in physical contact with another human being. He had never liked to be touched by anyone, not even his own family. Even with Allen, the only family member who cared about him, Aslan usually avoided him when his brother tried to touch him. This time, however, Aslan felt comfortable in Skylar's embrace. For a moment, Aslan forgot that the man hugging him was Skylar, the person who had made him feel extremely uncomfortable. Luckily, Aslan quickly came to his senses and pushed Skylar's chest away, breaking the embrace. Aslan's face turned red, but he tried to hide it by acting cocky."What the fuck? Why are you hugging me? Don't touch me like that!" Aslan snapped at Skylar. Even though his heart was wildly racing.Skylar didn't react to the outburst. Normally, Skylar would have giggled and responded with some teasing remark. But this time it was different. Instead, Skylar wore a strange expression that left Aslan flustered. Finally, A
William and Mike were surprised to see Aslan protecting Skylar. They were Allen's main bodyguards and didn't know Aslan very well. According to Allen's information, Aslan was a selfish young man. He made friends just to have fun with them, not out of sincerity. The only person that Aslan was close to was Mario. But now, Aslan was defending the man who was bothering him. Moreover, the man was not a close friend of His. "Mr. Aslan, doesn't this man's presence make you annoyed? He's making you uncomfortable, so why are you protecting him?" William asked.Aslan remained silent. To be honest, he doesn't know either. What William had said was true. Skylar was very annoying to Aslan. He even felt uncomfortable around the man. But... well, Aslan was confused how to explain it. He just felt he had to protect Skylar from those two bodyguards."We have orders to protect you at all times and to deal with anyone who disturbs you, sir," Mike chimed in.Aslan clenched his fists. He was angry and sh
Aslan hadn't expected Allen's main bodyguard to be watching his every move so closely. Aslan was used to being guarded by bodyguards, and there had always been bodyguards at his house. The problem is, Allen's two main guards are watching him so strictly. It had only been a day since Aslan had been with that two bodyguards. Their names were Mike and William. The two men always wore expressionless faces. But what really annoyed Aslan was that they followed him everywhere."For God's sake, can you just leave me alone?"That morning, Aslan flew into a rage because Mike and William had entered his room. Even his personal areas had been touched by that two bodyguards."We just wanted to make sure you were all right, Mr. Aslan," William explained."He's right. You haven't left your room. It's been two hours since your wake-up time, so we decided to come in. Fortunately, you're all right," Mike added.Aslan sighed deeply. He squeezed his head. These two were really annoying."Well, you two sa
"There has been a rumor circulating for quite some time that our nation's law enforcement agencies have hired a private organization to help them catch people who have committed serious crimes," Allen explained."What kind of organization is this? Something like assassins?" Aslan asked.Allen nodded. "It could be called that, but this organization does not specialize in killing. They help catch criminals. Like undercover police. They're not tied to our country's law enforcement system, so they can move around freely. But sometimes they have to kill too."Aslan listened intently to Allen's explanation. A secret organization, huh? That sounded cool. But if such an organization existed, it meant that the Kennedy family was in danger. Aslan didn't want to get involved in his family's dirty business, but he knew exactly what Rosat was up to. Rosat's business had been going on for a long time, even before their father's era. It was a family business. Passed from one era to another."And now
Until now, Aslan had seen Allen as a cold and protective person. He didn't like Allen controlling him so much. He thought that Allen often invaded his privacy, and that upset Aslan. However, he never thought that Allen was cruel. This was the first time Aslan had seen Allen kill another person. Moreover, he killed without any guilt, as if taking someone's life was not important. Was Allen always like that? Had killing people become second nature to Allen because he did it so often? Or... is Aslan the only one who doesn't know? The questions lingered in Aslan's mind. He was horrified when he saw his brother. His eyes turned to Allen. He, who usually felt uncomfortable because Allen was so protective of him, now felt terrified. His brother was a cold-blooded killer and Aslan never know that."Are you always like this?" Aslan asked.Allen looked at him. "Like what?""Killing others so easily."Allen smiled slightly. "Not really. Not that it's easy to kill people, but it's not hard either
Aslan forgot the last time he had seen his father. It didn't really matter. He didn't feel the need to see his father either. All this time, Aslan had been neglected by his father because he was considered a disgrace to the Kennedy family name. In fact, Allen had always been considered the only son of the Kennedy family. If his father despised Aslan so much, why did he allow Aslan to live until now? Aslan was truly confused."You must come with me," said Allen.Aslan clicked his tongue in annoyance. "What for? Why does the old man want to meet me? I'm not important, am I?"Aslan hated his father. But deep down, he was afraid. Dealing with his father caused Aslan deep trauma."He's our father, Aslan. Don't talk like that."Aslan laughed. "Our father or your father? I don't remember the old man ever thinking of me as his son. So why would he want to meet me?"Allen sighed. He knew that the subject of their father was a very sensitive one for Aslan. Allen understood why, which was why he
Aslan immediately froze. He did not immediately answer his brother's question because he was surprised by his brother's arrival. Aslan had not even expected Allen to come home. He rarely came home, and Aslan rarely interacted with his brother. He could never guess when his brother would come or go. To be honest, Aslan did not really care. Of all the times in the world, why did Allen have to come home when Aslan was having problems like this? What a shame."Answer your brother's question, Aslan. Where have you been? Why did you come home in the morning, hm?" he asked.Aslan tried to calm himself. Then he answered his brother's question. "I... I had business.""Sit down, now!"Aslan snorted angrily. His older brother was quite intimidating, but Aslan always fought back. He refused to be overpowered by anyone, including his own brother."I want to take a shower."Allen stood up immediately and grabbed Aslan's arm. "Where are you going?"Aslan clicked irritably. "What the hell? Let go of
Skylar crouched in front of Aslan's base camp house. He looked up as soon as he heard Aslan's voice speaking to him. Skylar stood and stared at the young man. From his expression, Aslan seemed unhappy with Skylar's presence. That's only natural. What Skylar had done had really messed things up."Why are you still here? I told you to leave!""Wait, I just want to talk to you for a second. I..."Aslan was annoyed. He pushed Skylar's body with all his strength so that he would leave. He could not use his full body strength yet, because his injured waist still hurt. Too much movement aggravated his injury."I'm going! I'm going, okay? But wait a minute. I want to explain, Ash."Aslan folded his arms across his chest. His eyebrows were furrowed and his eyes showed extreme annoyance."Okay, listen to me. About what happened before, I don't know why I did it. I mean, I shouldn't have. That's no excuse, I really don't understand myself."Aslan snorted. "How can you not know why you did it? An
"Answer me, Aslan."Aslan winced, holding back the pain in his arm that Skylar was clutching. Surely something was wrong with Skylar."Argh, let go of me, asshole! What's wrong with you? You always act weird when you see me."Skylar's eyes flashed with anger. As if Aslan had just done something terrible to the man. The question was, what had Aslan done to make Skylar so angry?"Answer me." Again, Skylar demanded an answer. The man's question was strange. Why did he immediately assume that Aslan had slept with Mei?"Answer what? Did I sleep with Mei? Why do you care? It's none of your business if I sleep with Mei, other women, or even other men, is it?"Aslan thought that was the correct answer. Who he slept with was none of Skylar's business. Why should he care? But Skylar became even more angry. His grip tightened and Aslan could no longer stand it."You... ugh, you're hurting me." Aslan's voice was weak, he moaned slightly, and he was in pain.Seeing Aslan in pain, and even his voic
