"Fuck! You're dead, today!"

"Hahaha... try it if you can, asshole!"

Aslan stepped on the gas harder. The highway was quieter at night, at least much quieter than in the daytime. Aslan laughed out loud, enjoying the adrenaline rush of speeding with his enemy.

A car horn sounded from behind. Aslan drove faster. He was not going to let his enemy win. This was not really a race. Aslan had just happened to run into a group of young men he'd beaten up a while back for being rude to him. They seemed to be holding a grudge. Aslan was alone this time, none of his minions were following him, so he hurriedly escaped in his car and created this indirect race.

"Bastards! Come down if you dare! Don't just hide behind your fancy car."

Aslan chuckled as the gang caught up with him. "Well, I know my car is fancy, thanks."

Aslan stepped on the gas again. The speed of the car increased dramatically. His pursuers fell farther and farther behind.

"Hahaha! Those rats can't keep up with me! Wohoo!"

Aslan was too busy looking in his rearview mirror to notice another vehicle coming from the opposite direction. He only noticed when the car's headlights shone on him and its horn honked loudly.

"Oh, shit!"

Aslan panicked, reflexively jerking the steering wheel to the side. He also tried to slam on the brakes as the car pulled into a gas station. Because of his speed, Aslan was unable to stop his car in time. The front of his car hit another car that happened to be parked at the gas station. The sound of the crash was quite loud.

"Damn it! I hit someone's car."

The car of the cowards chasing Aslan had stopped not far from the gas station. They saw Aslan's car swerve and hit another car at the gas station. As soon as they saw that, they quickly turned around and fled before they got involved.

Aslan touched his forehead. There was a small abrasion. But it was nothing to worry about right now.

"Ouch, now what?"

Inevitably, Aslan got out of his car to inspect it. He knocked on the glass of the car door and found no one inside. A small feeling of relief rose in his heart.

"Well, at least no one died," Aslan muttered to himself.

"But my car is badly damaged."

Someone suddenly spoke from behind Aslan's body. Aslan's heart pounded. He jumped in surprise at the person's arrival.

"Oh, my God! You scared the hell out of me!"

The man, dressed in a neat suit, crossed his arms over his chest and glared at Aslan.

Aslan cleared his throat. "So this is your car?"

"That's right, and you just wrecked it."

Aslan took a long breath. "Oh, come on, it's just a little scratched."

The man rolled his eyes. "A little?"

"Okay, okay, a lot. But your car is not broken."

"And how are you going to take responsibility for that, huh?"

Aslan scratched his neck. "Money. Okay, I'll give you money. You can go to a garage or hire a mechanic to fix it. How's that?"

The man smiled sarcastically. "Is that how you take responsibility? With money? Are you just a spoiled rich kid or something?"

Aslan snorted in annoyance. He hated being thought of that way most of all, although he was not wrong.

"Hey, I'm trying to be nice here. Don't make me angry."

The man just looked at Aslan with a lazy look in his eyes. Suddenly, he pulled out his cell phone and dialed someone. At first, Aslan thought the man was calling his family or perhaps a friend, but he was wrong. The man was calling a local cop.

"What the hell? You called the cops?!"

The man grinned. "Yeah, you got to take responsibility, you spoiled brat."

Aslan squeezed his own head. This is bad. This was really bad.

"Fuck! Why did you even call the cops? I can pay for your car, you know!"

Shortly after Aslan had argued with the man, the sound of cop sirens could be heard approaching. Aslan was confused. He wanted to get into his car and run away, but the man grabbed his arm.

"Watch out if you dare to run."

And so Aslan ended up at the police station. A fat policeman asked him a lot of questions. Aslan was really dizzy.

"Name?"

"Aslan."

"Aslan... who?"

Aslan took a long breath. "Kennedy."

"Second gender?"

Aslan chuckled in annoyance. "Is that necessary? I thought second gender was private."

"We're just doing a procedure to check your identity against the police database."

"I don't want to answer."

"How dare you resist a police officer."

Aslan stuck out his tongue. "I don't care!"

"You!"

The man who had reported him earlier suddenly approached. "That's all right, no need to force him, officer. Or... Just get your family here to pick you up."

Aslan gritted his teeth. "Fine! I'm a Beta."

The man raised an eyebrow. "Oh yeah?"

Aslan gave the man a sharp look. "What the hell are you talking about? I could clearly give you money to fix your crappy car, and instead you're taking me to the police station."

The man chuckled. "Nothing, I just wanted a spoiled brat like you to learn some manners."

"Fuck you!"

The man looked at the policeman dealing with Aslan. "Officer, can I have a little chat with him? I just want a little apology from him."

The policeman took a long breath and nodded. "Fine. Just don't let him out until his family gets here."

The man nodded. "Of course."

This time, Aslan was facing the man. He was too lazy to look at him. He was already annoyed.

"Come on, are you angry with me? Shouldn't I be angry with you?"

Aslan snorted. "Shut up."

"I'm Skylar, by the way. Skylar Reynolds."

"I don't need an introduction."

The man who claimed to be Skylar shrugged. "I just wanted you to know. You said earlier that your name was Aslan. Aslan Kennedy. Is it possible you're from the Kennedy family?"

Aslan's shoulders immediately stiffened when Skylar asked. He remained silent for a few moments, but Skylar continued to watch him.

"So it's true, huh?"

Aslan snorted. "No, probably just the same name. How many Kennedy names do you think there are in the world, huh?"

"Yeah, you're right. And why don't you tell me your second gender? I mean, that's a common thing when it comes to identity registration, right?"

Aslan looked at Skylar pointedly. "None of your business."

"So you don't want to contact your family? Or do you just want to stay at the police station until tomorrow?"

Skylar enjoyed the way Aslan's expression changed every time he asked a question. Skylar knew that Aslan was clearly not that much younger than he was. Maybe they were not that far apart in age, but Aslan's demeanor was much more childish.

Skylar kept trying to ask him things, and Aslan kept showing a distracted expression. They continued like this for a while, until three men in neat black suits entered the police station and spoke to the officers on duty.

"Are they your family or... your bodyguards?"

Aslan turned his head, and the look on his face immediately turned to annoyance. "Shit, why are they even here?"

Skylar continued to watch Aslan, then he chuckled, "So it's true? You're that Kennedy?"

"Shut up!"

"Mr. Aslan, we have to go. The matter with the cops is settled."

Aslan snorted in annoyance. "What the hell are you doing here?"

"Your brother asked us to come get Mr. Aslan."

Aslan exhaled heavily. "And how did Allen know I was at the police station?"

The three bodyguards did not answer Aslan's question. They quickly led Aslan out of the station. Skylar had overheard Aslan's conversation. He followed Aslan and the guards outside. The policemen, who had been so stern, were immediately subdued.

Just as Aslan got into his escort's car, Skylar waved with a grin.

"Hey, Ash, you still haven't compensated me yet for the damage to my car, remember?"

The bodyguards looked at Skylar. "We'll take care of your car right away. Please excuse us."

The car drove away. Skylar chuckled. "Trying to hide his true identity, huh? But why? If he's really from that Kennedy family, shouldn't he be proud of it? He's a Kennedy, so why is his second gender Beta? This Kennedy family, isn't it famous for having a bunch of alphas?"

“Are you mad?!”Skylar ignored his boss’s outcry. He didn’t care if people thought he was mad. Right now, this was the only way he could save Aslan. He’d do anything as long as he could find Aslan and bring him back with him.“Skylar… ugh…”His boss’s breathing was growing increasingly ragged. His chest ached so badly that even taking a breath was a struggle.“Stop those pheromones! Are you trying to kill me, huh?! Ugh!”Even if Skylar could suppress his own pheromones, his boss would still be affected. Skylar’s physical condition had become increasingly unstable since parting ways with Aslan. Then that instability worsened because Skylar’s mental state wasn’t in good shape either.“Take me to them right now!”The boss tried to step back, but Skylar’s grip on both his shoulders tightened. Gradually, the boss’s knees grew weak. It felt as if every muscle and bone in his body had suddenly gone limp, making him want to collapse right then and there.“You… argh… You ungrateful brat! You s

A few days before the Zagami ship incident…Skylar had a new goal, to free Aslan from the Kennedy basement and take him away with him. If he hadn’t managed to free Aslan from that dreadful place, then Skylar must not die. After seeing Aslan's condition in the basement of the Rosat headquarters firsthand, Skylar couldn’t stop thinking about him. Aslan's expression and everything about him that day completely filled Skylar’s mind. The kiss Aslan had given him and the goodbye he’d said. For many reasons, these memories made Skylar’s chest ache unbearably. It was painful. It hurt so much that it felt as if a huge rock had been dropped on his chest. When he returned home, he immediately began devising plans to save Aslan. He thought of many things, such as how he could get into the Kennedy headquarters without being detected. He had to ensure that he could enter the headquarters again unaided. Then, he thought about how he could sneak into the basement. Previously, he had been able to ente

“I don’t recall giving you permission to meddle in this project, Allen.”Allen gritted his teeth. He had just learned that his father's recent absences weren't actually due to handling shipments of new products overseas, but to inspecting the new facilities that would be used to continue the project for Aslan. At the time, he had wondered why his father had deliberately left him out of those business trips. Although their relationship had been strained lately, they still managed Rosat’s business together. No matter what happened, Allen would inherit the entire Rosat business in the end.Allen had only just found out about the construction of the facility. Apparently, his father had established it several years ago. How foolish of him to not know anything about it. In fact, he only found out about the facility from information Haruki had obtained. He had no idea how Haruki had gotten it. For now, that didn’t matter.“Why are you doing this, Father?”Aaron glanced briefly at Allen. "I c

"You..."Skylar was startled and quickly drew the knife he had tucked into his clothes. The man who had just tapped his shoulder was now standing before him, pointing a gun at Skylar’s face."Trust me, you don't want to do this."Skylar gritted his teeth at those words. He was on high alert. Unfortunately, he couldn’t reach the gun he’d hidden behind his back. In a desperate situation like this, Skylar acted on instinct. The knife was at his waist, concealed by the clothes he’d stolen from one of Kennedy’s men earlier. It was clearly easier and faster to reach.“You’re sure you want to attack me? With just that little knife?”Skylar glared at him. “You think I won’t be able to win with just this knife, Allen Kennedy?”The person who caught him sneaking into Rosat headquarters was none other than Allen Kennedy himself. It was strange, actually. His presence suggested that he already knew Skylar was going to infiltrate the headquarters. Skylar was literally in the area outside the headq

Dr. Brandon Kim was taken aback by Allen’s request. He was asking him to take part in research on Aslan—the same research that Dr. Kim had vehemently refused a few years ago. What on earth was this?“What do you mean, Mr. Allen?” Dr. Kim asked."Just as I said, Dr. Kim. Take part in this research. You’ll lead the project and find a cure for Aslan. My father still hasn’t given up on his desire to make Aslan a true alpha again. You’re a genius, aren’t you? You’ve never stopped researching the second gender. With your genius and dedication to studying the second gender, I’m sure you can do it."Dr. Brandon Kim immediately refused. “I can’t do that, Mr. Allen. As you know, I turned down your father’s request a few years ago. I don’t want to conduct dangerous experiments on humans. I’ve dedicated my life to researching the second gender, but I’ve never conducted experiments on humans directly. I only interview subjects then research and analyse the data I obtain from them. Besides, humans

“You’re that doctor from back then, aren’t you?”Skylar looked at him suspiciously. Why had that doctor come?Krester Mikami. Skylar knew who he was, of course. His name was listed among the medical staff who had treated Aslan years ago. He was one of the people who had traumatized Aslan. Skylar still remembered how Aslan had reacted when he met the doctor back then.“What are you doing here? How did you find out the address of this house?”Everyone who knew Skylar knew that he lived in an apartment. He had only told Aslan and his two employees the address of this house. If his boss had shown up unexpectedly, or if those mysterious higher-ups had appeared to eliminate him, Skylar wouldn't have been surprised. But Mikami wasn’t among his acquaintances, nor was he a spy sent by his boss.Seeing that Skylar was wary of him, Mikami hurriedly explained the reason for his visit.“Please calm down, Mr. Reynolds. I’m here because there’s something important I need to discuss with you.”“Then

A few days after the nightclub incident, Aslan was very upset. He did not understand what he was going through, and it made him feel uncomfortable. Since the results of his second gender test had been given before he met Skylar, nothing like the nightclub incident had ever happened. Not once or twi

After escaping from Skylar, Aslan went straight home without telling his friends who were still at the nightclub. He could not face Skylar again. For some reason, Skylar could not forget Aslan's scent. It was quite seductive. Skylar followed his instincts and followed Aslan back to the nightclub.Aslan was with his friends again. "What the hell are you doing, Ash?!"Aslan hated this. Every time Allen took care of his problems, the man would scold him, too. Aslan had not asked for help. The incident with Skylar was no big deal, and Aslan was sure he could handle it himself. But suddenly, without any confirmation, Allen sent
