Robin’s POV The tension in the room remained long even after Manuel exited, leaving just me and the rogue guards behind. It felt like his presence alone brought something heavier into the place, and the guards only began to visibly relax after a couple of minutes had passed. They looked more relaxed, but not enough to drop their guard around me. Their eyes remained hard and followed even the slightest of my movements, which, in my confinement, wasn’t much. My eyes had been open for close to thirty minutes since I woke up, but I just lay there unable to move even a muscle. Laying in our room filled with his scent made the dulling pain in my heart hurt even more. My wolf wasn’t even fighting to come out anymore. He seemed to be trying to make peace with the fact that Robin could actually be gone, that he was actually dead. But me… I could never believe that.
