Awkward Mistake

(Ivy’s POV)

Ever since that night, Celina and Jace had grown cold with each other again. They avoided each other’s eyes, spoke less, and when they did, it was always just a brief talk, mostly important things they needed to relay to each other.

As much as I wanted to help them, I knew it wasn’t my place. They had to figure it out themselves. So I tried to focus on other things, hoping they’d patch things up soon.

It was late afternoon and I was heading to the kitchen. But just as I stepped inside, Ryker was there, making me falter on my steps, for a moment, our eyes met, then, without a word, he turned and walked out.

Sigh. There he goes again. This has been going on for quite a while now.

It wasn’t the first time. He had been avoiding me, skipping out on meetings, never showing up at dinners, and vanishing whenever I entered the room. It’s like he’s avoiding every place he knows I’ll be in. At first, I thought I was imagining it. But now… it was obvious.

But now? I can see it clear
