I tossed and turned in bed, unable to sleep. No matter how many times I closed my eyes, my mind wouldn’t quiet down.

With a frustrated sigh, I finally sat up, swung my legs over the edge, and made my way downstairs.

The kitchen was quiet since everyone was probably asleep by now, but here I am still wide awake. I just can’t calm down, especially since this is the first time I’ve seen Marcus this serious and…and anxious.

Even Grandpa was acting strangely after the meeting. They didn’t even talk to us, they just went straight to a private room with Marcus and the only person they allowed inside was Ronan.

I grabbed a glass, filled it with water, and took a few gulps, the coolness easing my throat. Hopefully the water flashes my worries as well so I can finally take a good night sleep.

As I made my way back upstairs, something caught my eye making me freeze on the spot.
