She picked the paper and opened it, she immediately recognizes the handwriting as Orion's.

'You are beautiful without them.

Sneaked into your room to place this here, you threatened to cut off the legs of any male that enters your room. Well, I'm safe from that threat considering the fact that I would probably already be on the other side of the world by the time you see this.

Don't give mom and dad a hard time, April. Be good to them, or else....'

That was all that was written on the paper.

"They are my parents too, you know," April giggled.

She went to her desk and took apart her glass photo frame. She inserted the little piece of paper in front of her picture and put the frame back together, placing it on her desk. She observed her it and smiled.

She left the desk, going to continue what she was doing before she was distracted by Orion's note. She took out her red lipstick and paused when it's just a few centimeters away from her lips.

'You are beautiful without them.'

She remembered the first sentence Orion had written. She sheathed the lipstick and dropped it back in the bag.

While smiling, she applied her transparent lip balm, brushed her eyebrows, set her curly hair and looked at herself in the mirror, she loved the way she looked.

She picked her school bag, going out of her room with a giddy smile still plastered on her face.

A few months had passed and none of the Caddels heard from Orion. Mr and Mrs Caddel were worried while April and Iver were upset. He didn't reply to any of their texts, not even their parents.

"Did something happen to him?" Mrs Caddel wondered.

They were at the dining table, eating and couldn't help discussing about Orion.

"I told you he will forget about us," April said, stuffing her mouth.

She wasn't in a good mood. She heard her friend, Uriel, call another girl beautiful the previous day. He even went as far as to spend their entire break with her.

Her mood has been sullen since then, especially because the girl was indeed beautiful'.

She was very slim, has upturned eyes and straight, shiny red hair that reached her waist. April compared the girl to her who had moderate weight, doe eyes and curly black hair that reached a few inches below her shoulders.

It was quite dramatic of her to think that she is inferior to the lady in beauty when in reality, April's dimples itself is enough to defeat the lady in a beauty contest. But April couldn't help it because Uriel had seen the lady as beautiful.

April subtly moved her hand to her stomach, grabbing her flesh. She let go and exhaled in discontentment, dropping her cutlery in her plate of unfinished food.

Her parents just regarded the action as her being frustrated for not hearing from Orion.

"That's nonsense," Iver disagreed with her earlier statement.

"It's not. He has another family now, I'm telling you he already forgot about us," April repeated.

"Stop saying that, April," Mr Caddel said.

"Maybe he's still trying to adapt to his new environment or something," Iver chipped in.

April scoffed, not believing that at all.

More month went by. The Caddels are gathered at the dinner table yet again. It's Orion's birthday, he has been gone for almost a year now and no one heard from him, their messages weren't even delivered.

"You know, I thought he would be there for my graduation. Even if not physically, I at least thought I would be able to hear his words of congratulations," Iver expressed, his eyes stuck on his plate.

Iver would be graduating three months later.

"I told you he already forgot us," April shrugged

"Yeah, you are right," Iver agreed.

April's eyes snapped up towards Iver. She wasn't happy that he agreed with her. Iver and Iver has always been on the opposite side of the coin, never agreeing on anything. Him agreeing with her sentence doesn't sit well with her.

She was the one always being pessimistic and not believing in people while he's the opposite. So she hated seeing him being different now, it doesn't suit him. She wasn't satisfied to see that he was starting to give on Orion ever contacting them.

"I might be wrong though. Brother would never do that. He must be facing some difficulty or something," April spoke against her previous words.

"Wake up April. He found a family several times much better than ours, it makes sense that he doesn't want to associate with us anymore. He even had to give up university so I could have enough funds to go. Who would want that kind of family?" Iver said.

"Iver!" Mrs Caddel cautioned strictly.

"From now on, I don't want to hear anyone speaking about Orion at the dinner table since both of you have nothing positive to say about your brother." Mr Caddel said with authority, referring to April and Iver.

After dinner, April went into her room, picked her phone and texted Orion, same results as the previous months. She called and his line was out of service. She dropped the phone.

She moved to her desk and picked her photo frame, her eyes moving to the little piece of paper beneath her picture. Her hand gently and slowly moved over the words as she re-read them again, like she had done several times already.

She dropped the photo frame and exhaled audibly, her shoulders participating in the process, as they sagged in defeat.

It's the new year and everyone was in a festive mood. The Caddels spent the day happily as a family, all the while wishing Orion was there with them.

The festive period went by and they were looking forward to Iver's birthday which is the next day and his graduation ceremony which is only two weeks away.

It was the midnight and April was sleeping peacefully when she felt someone shaking her. She woke up and saw Iver beside her, looking very worried.

She quickly sat up, curious about why he looked like that.

"Iver, is everything alright?" April asked.

"April, don't you think it's strange that Orion didn't get into contact with us all this while?" Iver asked.

"Yeah. But Dad did say he's staying several countries away from here so there are lot of factors that could contribute to him not being able to contact us," April shrugged.

"That doesn't make sense," Iver said bluntly.

April was offended, she folded her hands against her chest and glared at him.

"Well, what makes sense then?" she asked.

"He might be dead."

Apparently, Carlene had somehow access the picture of Iver and her that has been displayed at the park's screen and she had posted with the caption: He is mine, but he doesn't know it yet, and she tagged him."Your sister is crazy," Iver said to Orion."Just reject her," Orion told him."I've done that.""You don't reject someone one moment and start kissing them the next," April threw in.Iver glared at both of them and continue tapping on his phone. April got a notification that Carlene followed her and then, the notifications just kept flowing in. "Woah! I forgot, she has more followers than Orion and I combined," Iver said."Yeah, she re-posted and now, my phone doesn't have a breathing space," April laughed.Orion coughed twice, continuously."Are you okay?" April asked, looking up from her phone."Yeah, just thirsty," he said and went out of the office, rushing into his room. He finally let go and the cough continued as he made his way into his bathroom. His chest ached as tin

April took his hands in hers. "Honestly, that was how I felt at first when you stopped pushing me away, but not anymore. I see how much you care about me and how much you wanted this, in your eyes, in your touch, in your actions and in your words."Orion exhaled. "I'm sorry if I made you feel like that at the begining, April. I really want this, I want 'us'. I realized I wouldn't have minded if Iver had seen that picture. I mean, everyone already knows except him, Mom and Dad. Do you know why I haven't officially asked you out? I didn't want a secret relationship, April."April's face lit up at his admission. He continued. "I want to be able to hold your hand in public, I want to be able to kiss you in public, I want to be able to call you mine in public. I want to tell them, April." She smiled. "Then, let's do that." "Are you sure?" "This is what I've always wanted, Orion. I'm as sure as I can be."He sighed in relief and April's hand went around his waist as she placed her head a

The screen was still displaying prior information. "How does the display works?" April quickly asked Blue, dragging her back, away from the others. It's just ten pictures for five seconds." Blue replied. "So, how on earth am I supposed to distract him for fifty seconds." "No, wait. They display the time first, then the picture. Do you have an idea about what time it was taken?" "No, how- wait." April quickly fetched out her phone, going to search for the picture they had taken together, she checked the time it was taken. "10:44." April read. "This was taken about a minute after." "Good, now we know it's between the span of 10:42 and 10:44," Blue calculated. The time for the very first picture was displayed and they breath out in relief. Everyone awed at the picture that came up after the time. It continued like that, with people awing at each picture. April kept counting the pictures, there were four more to go and that when the screen displayed 10:43. April's eyes widene

"What are you going to do?" "You expect me to stand here and watch them?" Orion asked, a bit irritated. In a distance, in front of them, was Iver and Carlene, kissing passionately. They didn't seem to be bothered with the fact that people were gathered around them and cheering them on either."No, I expect you to turn around and leave them alone," April gritted out."What? That's my sister!""So what? You are dating his sister too!" April exclaimed."We are......dating?" Orion frowned."Shut up, Orion. You know what I mean. Anyways, we've kissed twice too, haven't we?" "You. Kissed. Me." Orion made it clear."You said you liked it!" April glared at him."I do. I'm just making things clear." He made to move again and once again, April drew him back by his arm."What are going to do, punch him in the face?" "Yes." Orion replied without hesitation."For the record, your sister is the one chasing my brother. Just like I'm the one chasing you.""What?" "It's true. The most efforts is

"Whooooooo!!!" They could hear Blue's victorious scream as she hit Knox's bumper car with hers. Knox looked a bit upset, it seemed he has never done it before considering the fact he was failing miserably. Blue had challenged him to race with her and in his mind, it would be no different than a normal car, in fact it should be easier since he was an expert in rough-driving.He was wrong. They were at the amusement park. Once again Iver's suggestion, even though Orion is the one funding the trip. Collin had stayed behind, not in the mood to go to an amusement park. They had light breakfasts before leaving the house, courtesy of Knox who had woke up very early to go prepare it at her parent's.According to the arrangements they've made, Knox would be cooking them a fancy dinner too and her friends would be staying over. "I don't like her voice," Carlene said with distaste."Stop being bitter," Iver said."Blue's the most lively person I know," April sang as she walked away from the tw

They got home and April was going to go straight into her room but she wanted to check whether Iver was back. She had to ask him too to know whether he also has no idea that her birthday was tomorrow. Now, she would be really pissed if he didn't.She knocked on his door and he told her to come in. April was surprised when she entered and met Carlene sitting on the edge of his bed, an amused expression on her face. Iver was by his desk typing away on his laptop.Iver paused what he was doing, his gaze finding her. "Thank goodness you are here, April. Kindly get her out of my room, please." It almost looked like a desperate plea. He was referring to Carlene. "What are you doing here?" April asked, folding her hands against her chest.Carlene gave her a lopsided smile. "You really want to know?" "Not really. Anyways, my brother is busy and I have something to tell me that doesn't require your ears, so kindly leave the room for us, would you?"Carlene rolled her eyes. "You would need t
