LOGINMy laughter died down, but the smile stayed on my face. Shaking my head, I picked up the towel again and rubbed my hair dry a bit more before I threw it onto the bed. She was one of a kind, especially when drunk. Last night was very entertaining and something I wouldn’t forget, ever.
I dropped the towel, which was a mistake because Albany chose that moment to exit the bathroom. Her loud gasp made my lips twitch. I hesitated for a few seconds before I turned to face her.
Albany’s chocolate brown eyes slowly trailed over my body. They once again lingered on my abs before moving lower. I watched as colour slowly spread up her neck and into her cheeks.
How far down does that blush go?
My cock twitched when she sucked her bottom lip into her mouth and pressed her thighs together. She swallowed and took a step back, bumping into the door. It seemed to snap her out of whatever daze she was in because in the next seconds, she spun around and entered the bathroom again.
She slammed the door closed a bit harder and slid the lock into place.
Shaking my head, I entered the closet and pulled out my clothes. After dressing, I fixed my tie and pulled on my shoes before I combed my hair. I paused and stared as her words flashed through my mind. Reaching up, I fingered a few grey strands in my hair.
Do I really look so old?
My eyes darted over my face, I had a few crows’ feet at the corners of my eyes, but I had no wrinkles or anything. I looked good for someone my age. Was my age the reason she rejected me in the first place? No. I shook my head. She doesn’t know my age, and apparently, she wasn’t that familiar with my name.
I couldn’t decide if that was a good thing or a bad thing.
When I walked out of the closet, Albany was standing by the edge of the bed, frowning down at her phone. Her eyes snapped up to mine when I cleared my throat.
Moving closer, I stopped when I had a clear view of her.
My eyes slowly trailed over her short frame. Short but with the right amount of curves in all the right places. Her skin was pale, but not overly so, just enough to make her blush easily visible. Curly auburn hair that hung down her back last night was now in a messy bun. She had long dark eyelashes that created dark circles across her cheeks when her eyes were closed, and cupid bow pink lips that I was dying to taste.
I had dressed her in one of my old shirts when I put her in bed. It was a shirt that was too small for me but fitted her perfectly. Ending a few inches above her knees, it showed off her firm calves, slim ankles, and small feet.
“Where are my clothes?” she asked, unable to look me in the eye.
“In the washer, I’ll go get it for you.” I turned, but stopped when she spoke again.
“Why did you undress me in the first place? Why didn’t you take me home as I had—?”
“You sound like a child, Albany,” I scolded with a frown. “You passed out before I could get your address from you, and your clothes were covered in vomit. Should I have let you sleep in it?”
Her mouth dropped open and then slammed shut. When she turned her head away, I walked out of the room. Blowing out a breath, I shook my head as I walked down the stairs and into the kitchen.
“Good morning, Mr. Miller,” Fiona, my housekeeper, greeted me with a smile.
“Morning.” I returned her smile with one of my own. “I put some washing in the machine last night. Is it done?”
“Oh yes, I took it out.” She paused. “I wasn’t sure what to do with it. Do you want it now?”
“Yes, please, Fiona.”
I watched her until she was out of sight and then leaned over the island to swipe a piece of fruit from the bowl. Chewing, I retraced my steps back up to my bedroom, but Albany was no longer there.
Frowning, I checked the bathroom but found it empty.
My eyes widened when I entered the closet. The drawers were half open, and some clothes littered the floor. An alarm went off, sending me into action.
Running out of the room and down the stairs, I threw the front door open and stepped outside just in time to see Albany slipping through the gates.
“Albany!” I yelled as I hurried after her.
She glanced over her shoulder and flipped me off. Just as I reached the gates, a car pulled up which she climbed into. I stared after it as it drove away and disappeared around a corner.
“Vixen,” I muttered, turning to enter my yard.
But even though I was pissed at her, I couldn’t help but smile. That was another first for me: having a woman running off before I could even offer her breakfast.
There was no way I was going to let her off the hook so easily.
“The clothes, Mr. Miller,” Fiona said as she held the neatly folded clothes up to me.
“Thank you.” I took it from her and stared down at it silently for a few seconds before I looked up at her. “Is breakfast ready?”
“In a few minutes, sir.”
“Bring it to my office, please.” I stepped around her. “I have a few calls I need to make.”

Raising the clothes to my nose, I sniffed at them, but they didn’t smell like Albany anymore. With a sigh, I dropped it onto the couch as I passed it on my way over to my desk. Pulling my chair out, I took a seat and opened my laptop.
As I waited for it to switch on, I reached for my phone.
Thomas’s phone went straight to voicemail. I ended the call and waited a few minutes before I tried again, but the same thing happened. One glance at the clock assured me that he had to be up already. Why was his phone off?
Shaking my head, I made a mental note to call him again later and then opened my browser. My fingers hovered over the keyboard as I stared at the screen.
Where to begin?
In the end, I simply typed in her name but paused. I didn’t know what her surname was. She didn’t have an ID with her last night since she left her wallet in her apartment. I could make some calls to figure out exactly who she was, but that was the last thing I wanted to do.
So, I typed in the name of her bakery instead.
I wanted to know everything I could about her.
“What does it say?”Albany missed her period. She snuck out of the house, thinking nobody would notice, and then returned home with a brown paper bag she had hidden under her clothes, or tried to.There was a soft click, and then the door slowly opened. My eyes darted over her face, searching for her excitement, but I only found unshed tears in her eyes. Without a word, she turned back around and walked over to the basin where she stared down at the pregnancy test.Stepping into the bathroom, I closed the door. My eyes dropped to the test.“Negative,” she croaked. “I thought I was. I missed my period.”Wrapping my arms around her waist, I hugged her to my body as I lowered my chin to her shoulder. Our eyes locked in the mirror.“We will make an appointment with the doctor,” I told her. “These tests aren’t always accurate.”“It doesn’t matter.”“It does.” My hold tightened. “Your period is only a day late, cupcake. Let’s wait for a few more days and then take another test.”“W-What if
“The best time to get pregnant is when you’re ovulating and twenty-four hours after that…”I jerked upright and slammed the laptop shut when Thomas entered the kitchen. He hadn’t noticed me yet, which made me blow out a relieved breath. Walking over to the fridge, he opened it and stared at the contents for a few seconds, and then slammed the door shut again.“Are you going to make all of us spend quality time together?” he said, startling me.“Didn’t you have fun?”Thomas turned, hesitated a moment, and walked closer. “I love you and I love our family, but I don’t want you to force us to spend time together.”“Force you?” Steven entered, frowning at his brother. “It’s not like she held a gun to your head.”“Stay out of this.”Steven’s eyes narrowed.I tensed, waiting for a fight to break out. “I’m sorry,” I apologized before either of them could utter a word. “I just thought that it might be helpful. It just feels like you don’t talk as much as the others and I-”“We’re fine,” Thomas
FOUR YEARS AGO (CONTENT WARNING: TALK ABOUT PAST ABUSE AND ASSAULT)I rubbed my hands nervously on my pants. Sweat coated nearly every inch of my skin, making my clothes stick to me. I tugged on my shirt and shuffled nervously from foot to foot. My eyes locked on him as he moved around the room, studying everything from the furniture to the photos on the wall.“This is cool,” he muttered. “I wish my parents would let me do something like this in our basement.”“It took a lot of convincing,” I told him. “We might have conspired against them. I made sure to play my video games extra loud and then argued that if we had the space down here, they wouldn’t hear it.”He laughed. “Smart.”“Do you want to play?” I pointed towards the TV and beanbags.“Sure.”We got seated and started playing. A moment later, I found him next to me, our bodies brushing as we played. My heartbeat increased with every touch. It became increasingly difficult to concentrate, and I wasn’t sure if he was feeling the s
The five of us were all seated around the huge Christmas tree Severide got for us. I smiled as I remembered our trip into town to buy our own decorations. All of us together, hopefully the first of many more trips to come. Of course, we had to endure hours of strange and sometimes disgusting looks from the other people who were shopping. And I wasn’t going to lie by saying that it might have gotten to me. For a few seconds, I had looked at things from their perspective, but then I looked at my men and I remembered how lucky I was to have them. They were my family, and I would want to trade them for anything. Sure, the ride had been rough. When one year passed after our breakup, I expected the worst. I feared that I might never see them again. While I was busy building my bakery, I had kept track of them as much as I could. I was tempted to go to Kieran’s gym opening, but I hadn’t been ready to face them, so I read about it in the newspaper and drooled over them in the photos, until I
I raised my head and looked over my shoulder at her. “Then you better come closer.”She was next to us in an instant, taking a seat on the edge of the bed, her eyes trailing over Severide and then me. Albany swallowed, her lips parted like she wanted to say something, but she remained silent.I turned my focus back to Severide’s cock. Wrapping my hand around the base, I tilted it up and took him into my mouth. Inch by inch, I took him deeper until the head of his cock finally hit the back of my throat.“Shit, Kieran.” It was the only warning I had before he exploded.I swallowed his cum and then cleaned every drop from his cock before I straddled his thighs and gripped my cock. Albany leaned forward and rested her head on Severide’s stomach. I smiled at her when she opened her mouth.Shifting closer, I guided my cock towards her mouth. Her tongue darted out to collect the precum from my tip. Sucking in a breath, I pushed my hips forward, sinking deeper into the warmth of her mouth.Tw
I raised my hand but froze as doubt flooded my mind. The only thing I had planned was to talk to Severide about what Albany wanted. We were doing all this for her anyway, which was the only thing I had to go on.But I hadn’t even considered the fact that he might not agree to this.Shaking my head, I opened the door and entered the room without knocking. I came to a shocked halt when my eyes locked on him.Severide’s cheeks flooded with colour as he reached for the sheets. I smirked at him and kicked the door closed behind me, and leaned back against it.“We’ve seen each other naked before,” I muttered.“Get out,” he hissed, ignoring my comment.I raised an eyebrow at him. “I’m sorry for interrupting. Were you close?”Severide sneered at me as he got up from the bed and, with the sheets clutched around his hips, stormed into the bathroom. The door slammed shut behind him so hard that the paintings on the wall vibrated from the force.Closing my eyes, I allowed my head to drop back aga
“We’re going to talk and you’re going to listen, or I’m going to tie you to a chair and make you listen.”I could still feel his hand wrapped around my neck. Nobody had ever touched me in that way, and by hell, I fucking liked it. I loved the way his fingers dug into my skin without it actually hur
My head snapped up when my office door was thrown open. Whatever I was about to yell at the intruder died down when my eyes locked on the man who entered. I was out of my chair and hurrying around my desk in seconds.“What is it? What happened? Is it your father?”Steven shook his head and ran a sh
“Hi, I’m looking for Steven. . .uh. . .Professor Steven. . .” I trailed off and gave her a small smile. “I’m sorry I forgot his last name.”The elderly woman waved her hand and gave me a friendly smile. “It happens to all of us. Is he expecting you?”I was about to shake my head, but decided agains
I had gotten too used to having Lee around, I realized the next morning as I tried to keep up with everything that needed to be done. I had to help the customers at the front and keep an eye on the cakes baking in the oven. Then there were a dozen cupcakes that needed to be decorated and made ready
