تسجيل الدخولHannah's POVSunday mornings in our dorm had a specific kind of energy.Slow.Unbothered.The kind where nobody felt guilty about staying in bed past ten because there was nowhere to be and nothing demanding anything from you.Serena had stayed over after the game — she said she was too tired to walk back to her own dorm and honestly I didn't argue because I didn't have the energy to either. She was curled up at the foot of my bed with Maya's spare blanket, phone in hand, doing that thing she'd been doing since last night where she smiled at the screen and then immediately tried to look like she wasn't smiling. She was doing it again right now.I watched her for a second."Just text him back," I said without looking up from my own phone. She looked up."I don't know what you're talking about.""You've reread the same message four times."She looked back down."I'm just thinking of what to say.""You never think about what to say."A pause."He's different," she said quietly.I didn't
Hannah's POVI didn't understand football.I want to make that very clear.I had absolutely no idea what was happening for the first twenty minutes of that second half.People around me were screaming, groaning, jumping, grabbing each other, and I was just standing there holding my drink trying to follow the ball with my eyes and failing completely."What just happened?" I asked Maya for the fourth time."Hudson's quarterback — that's Zachary — just called an audible at the line," she said, eyes fixed on the field."And that means?""He changed the play at the last second because he read the defense."I stared at her."How do you know all of this?"She finally looked at me."Hannah. I have three older brothers."I turned back to the field.Okay.I would just watch. And watching, I slowly started to understand. Not the rules exactly. But the rhythm of it.The way they moved together like they'd rehearsed this a thousand times, because they had. The way Zachary would drop back, scan, an
Hannah's POVThe next day was Saturday, and I didn't really have anything to do. Evelyn called and said I could take the day off today because she was taking Madison to her play date with her friends, so I had nothing to do, but I liked it. It was peaceful. And if you're asking why, it's because Tiffany was out with her tech friends — according to her she has a group thing — while Maya was on her phone doing whatever. It was quiet and peaceful until Serena barged into the room like she owned it — well, technically she does — and the first thing she said was —"We are going out." She smiled so hard it brought out the dimples I never even knew she had.I looked at her like she was dumb, then I looked at Maya, then I looked at Serena again."Are you talking to us?" I pointed to me and Maya. She looked around, then looked at me and Maya."Uhm… duh, stupid, of course I'm talking to the both of you." She went straight to my closet.I stood up from my bed to go meet her."Do you mind telling
Hannah's POVWe didn't hear from Maya until evening, and that was when Tiffany came inside the dorm room with her.To say she looked like a mess was an understatement. The makeup she put on in the morning was already smudged from crying. I've never seen Maya cry before, and I've only stayed here for like a month or two, I think. Serena was in the bathroom, and when she came out she saw Maya, and the first thing she said was —"Woow."Tiffany gave her death glares from beside Maya, but Maya didn't see. Serena composed herself and came to sit on the bean bag."How are you, Maya?" I said.Tiffany led her to her bed and went to the bathroom to freshen up. Maya looked at us."I'm so sorry guys for snapping at you guys in the morning, I just needed time to process everything," she said."It's fine, Maya," I said."Can I ask though, if you don't mind," Serena said.Maya looked like she already knew what she wanted to ask, but still asked her to go on. Serena adjusted herself on the bean bag.
Hannah's PovAfter the whole encounter at Zach's house that night, we came back to my dorm and Serena had said she was staying over because Nia had texted to tell her that her girlfriend was over and she needed some alone time, so that meant Serena had stayed over. That night we didn't even get to finish stepping foot inside the dorm room — Tiffany had bombarded us with questions, and so because I told Serena beforehand that she couldn't say anything to them, she made up with a series of answers from her head that surprisingly even Maya believed. After the whole thing we all went to bed.The next day was a Friday, and luckily for me and Serena our Jurisprudence professor wouldn't be able to come because his wife just gave birth — or at least that's what the class representative said. So basically no class for the day, because normally we would have five hours on that class. To say I was relieved was an understatement. I really can't imagine myself sitting for five hours today. Serena
Hannah's POVI told myself it wasn't a big deal.Just a notebook.Just going to pick it up.In and out.Simple.That's what I kept repeating to myself the entire morning while pretending to be focused on my reading assignment. But every time I tried to actually read the same sentence would just sit there on the page doing absolutely nothing useful.Serena noticed.Of course she noticed. She was sitting on the edge of my bed with her phone in her hand watching me turn the same page back and forth like it personally offended me."Are you going to tell me what's going on," she said. "Or are you going to keep pretending to read?""I'm reading.""Hannah. You've been on page four for forty minutes."I closed the book. She raised an eyebrow."Zachary texted me yesterday," I said carefully.Serena went very still. Then she sat up straight."I'm sorry. Come again?""He found my notebook. The one from the project meeting. He said I left it at his house."She stared at me."Zachary Reed. Texted
Hannah’s POVFor a second…I forgot how to breathe.Zachary Reed.Standing in the doorway.Looking just as shocked as I felt.And suddenly—everything clicked.Reed.Of course.That’s why the surname sounded familiar.That’s why William looked so familiar.The eyes.The jaw.The expression.How had
Hannah’s POV The next morning— I woke up nervous. Not the bad kind. Not panic. Not dread. Just… restless. Like butterflies had completely taken over my stomach. I stared at the ceiling for a while before reaching for my phone on the bedside table. 9:07 AM. My meeting with Evely
Hannah’s POVI stared at my phone like it had personally betrayed me.“…Evelyn texted me,” I repeated. No one spoke for about three full seconds. Then Tiffany practically launched herself across the bed.“Show me.”I held the phone tighter against my chest.“No.”“Hannah.”“No.”Serena was already
Hannah’s POV I couldn’t believe what I just heard. No… Actually I refused to believe it. I sat frozen in my chair while Professor Lawson continued speaking at the front of the class like he hadn’t just casually ruined my entire semester. A group project. With Zachary Reed. My stomach t
