Hannah’s POV

I kept replaying it in my head the entire walk back to the dorm.

The hallway.

The sudden impact.

My books falling again.

And him—Zachary Reed—standing there like I was just another mistake in his way.

By the time I stepped into the room, my mood was already heavy.

Maya looked up from her laptop immediately. “You’re back.”

Tiffany sat cross-legged on her bed, chewing chips loudly. “Okay, talk. What happened this time?”

I hesitated at the door for a second before walking in slowly.

“I bumped into him again,” I said quietly.

Tiffany froze mid-bite. “You mean again again?”

I nodded.

Maya straightened slightly. “Zachary?”

“Yes.”

Tiffany let out a long groan and fell backwards onto her bed. “This guy is starting to sound like your personal nightmare.”

I dropped my bag beside the bed and sat down slowly.

“It wasn’t even dramatic,” I said. “He just… looked at me like I was annoying him again. Like I shouldn’t exist in his space.”

Maya’s expression softened instantly.

“Hannah…” she said gently, moving closer.

“Listen to me. That says more about him than it ever will about you.”

Tiffany sat up again, suddenly serious.

“Exactly. And if he ever crosses the line again, we’re not ignoring it… this time, please I really want to slap his head so bad,” she added, shaking her hand like she was already imagining it.

Despite everything, I let out a small laugh.

“You say that like you can actually reach him,” I teased lightly.

Tiffany pointed at me. “Don’t underestimate my anger.”

That made both me and Maya laugh.

The tension in my chest loosened a little.

Maya sat beside me and gently bumped my shoulder. “You’re not alone here, okay?”

I nodded slowly.

“I know,” I whispered.

And for the first time since the incident, I actually believed it a little.

A few minutes later, Tiffany suddenly clapped her hands loudly.

“No depression allowed in this room,” she announced. “Emergency distraction plan activated.”

Maya sighed. “Here we go.”

Tiffany grabbed the remote like she was commanding an army. “Movie. Now. Snacks. No sad thoughts.”

Soon, the room shifted completely.

Lights dimmed. Snacks opened. Shoes kicked off. Phones ignored.

We were sitting together on the bed, the movie playing softly in the background.

But before it even properly started, Tiffany turned to me again.

“Okay serious question,” she said.

I blinked. “Again?”

“Yes,” she said firmly. “Boy talk.”

My eyes widened slightly. “What?”

Maya laughed. “Tiffany…”

“What?” Tiffany defended. “We’re girls. We’re allowed.”

I felt my cheeks heat up immediately.

“I don’t really have anything to say,” I admitted awkwardly.

Tiffany gasped. “You’ve never had a crush?”

I shook my head quickly.

“I’ve never really… talked to boys properly,” I said honestly. “I was always focused on school, books… my goals.”

Tiffany stared at me like I had just revealed a shocking secret. “Girl, you were in academic isolation.”

Maya laughed softly. “It’s okay, Hannah. There’s no timeline for that.”

Tiffany leaned closer. “But college changes things. Trust me.”

I swallowed nervously.

“I don’t even know how to talk to guys,” I admitted quietly.

Maya smiled warmly. “Then you learn slowly. No pressure.”

Tiffany nodded. “And we supervise.”

That made me laugh again.

The movie started properly after that, but none of us were really focused on it the entire time.

Tiffany kept commenting on every scene loudly, Maya kept correcting her, and I kept laughing in between trying to follow the plot.

For a while, everything felt light.

Like the hallway didn’t exist.

Like Zachary Reed didn’t exist.

Just girls talking, laughing, and sharing space like we had known each other forever.

And I liked that feeling more than I expected.

Zachary’s POV

The house was loud when I got back.

Tyler and Adrian were already arguing about a football replay on the TV again, their voices bouncing off the walls like always.

“That was a clean hit,” Adrian insisted.

“No it wasn’t,” Tyler shot back. “Ref was blind.”

I walked past them without saying anything and dropped my keys on the table.

“Bro, you’ve been weird today,” Tyler called after me.

“I’m not weird,” I replied flatly.

Adrian smirked. “You’ve said that three times already.”

I ignored them and sat on the couch for a while.

Football highlights played on the screen, but I wasn’t watching.

My mind kept drifting.

Back to the hallway.

Back to her.

The way she looked when she fell again.

The way she quickly apologized like she was used to being blamed.

The way she avoided my eyes immediately after.

Tyler flopped down beside me. “You’re zoning out again.”

“I’m not,” I said immediately.

Adrian laughed. “Bro, you’re definitely thinking too much.”

“I don’t think,” I replied coldly.

That made them quiet for a second.

Then Tyler leaned back. “Party tomorrow.

You’re coming.”

“No.”

“You always say no,” Adrian said. “Then show up late anyway.”

“I’m not going,” I repeated.

Tyler sighed. “You’re getting boring, Zachary.”

I scoffed. “Good.”

They went back to arguing about girls and football, but I stopped listening.

Everything sounded distant.

Even them.

My phone rang suddenly.

I glanced at it.

My sister.

I answered immediately.

“Hey,” I said, tone softening slightly.

“Zacharyyyy!” she shouted through the phone.

I exhaled. “You’re too loud.”

“I miss you,” she said. “When are you coming home?”

“Soon,” I replied.

“I got top marks!” she added proudly.

I smiled faintly. “Of course you did.”

“I miss you too,” I said quietly.

Tyler mouthed “soft spot” again from across the room and I ignored him.

After the call, I stood up.

“I’m going upstairs.”

“Of course you are,” Adrian muttered.

I didn’t respond.

My room was quiet.

Too quiet.

I sat at my desk for a long time before opening my sketchbook.

At first, I tried drawing anything else.

Lines. Shapes. Random shadows.

But my hand stopped.

Her face appeared again.

Loose sweater.

Long skirt.

Quiet eyes.

I froze.

“…Why do I keep drawing her?” I muttered.

I shut the sketchbook immediately and leaned back in my chair.

“She’s just another student,” I said quietly.

But even as I said it

My mind refused to listen.

  • The Bully's Redemption     Chapter 28: Game Day

Hannah's POVThe next day was Saturday, and I didn't really have anything to do. Evelyn called and said I could take the day off today because she was taking Madison to her play date with her friends, so I had nothing to do, but I liked it. It was peaceful. And if you're asking why, it's because Tiffany was out with her tech friends — according to her she has a group thing — while Maya was on her phone doing whatever. It was quiet and peaceful until Serena barged into the room like she owned it — well, technically she does — and the first thing she said was —"We are going out." She smiled so hard it brought out the dimples I never even knew she had.I looked at her like she was dumb, then I looked at Maya, then I looked at Serena again."Are you talking to us?" I pointed to me and Maya. She looked around, then looked at me and Maya."Uhm… duh, stupid, of course I'm talking to the both of you." She went straight to my closet.I stood up from my bed to go meet her."Do you mind telling

  • The Bully's Redemption    Chapter 27: The Invitation

Hannah's POVWe didn't hear from Maya until evening, and that was when Tiffany came inside the dorm room with her.To say she looked like a mess was an understatement. The makeup she put on in the morning was already smudged from crying. I've never seen Maya cry before, and I've only stayed here for like a month or two, I think. Serena was in the bathroom, and when she came out she saw Maya, and the first thing she said was —"Woow."Tiffany gave her death glares from beside Maya, but Maya didn't see. Serena composed herself and came to sit on the bean bag."How are you, Maya?" I said.Tiffany led her to her bed and went to the bathroom to freshen up. Maya looked at us."I'm so sorry guys for snapping at you guys in the morning, I just needed time to process everything," she said."It's fine, Maya," I said."Can I ask though, if you don't mind," Serena said.Maya looked like she already knew what she wanted to ask, but still asked her to go on. Serena adjusted herself on the bean bag.

  • The Bully's Redemption     Chapter 26: Things We Don't Talk About

Hannah's PovAfter the whole encounter at Zach's house that night, we came back to my dorm and Serena had said she was staying over because Nia had texted to tell her that her girlfriend was over and she needed some alone time, so that meant Serena had stayed over. That night we didn't even get to finish stepping foot inside the dorm room — Tiffany had bombarded us with questions, and so because I told Serena beforehand that she couldn't say anything to them, she made up with a series of answers from her head that surprisingly even Maya believed. After the whole thing we all went to bed.The next day was a Friday, and luckily for me and Serena our Jurisprudence professor wouldn't be able to come because his wife just gave birth — or at least that's what the class representative said. So basically no class for the day, because normally we would have five hours on that class. To say I was relieved was an understatement. I really can't imagine myself sitting for five hours today. Serena

  • The Bully's Redemption    Chapter 25: The Notebook

Hannah's POVI told myself it wasn't a big deal.Just a notebook.Just going to pick it up.In and out.Simple.That's what I kept repeating to myself the entire morning while pretending to be focused on my reading assignment. But every time I tried to actually read the same sentence would just sit there on the page doing absolutely nothing useful.Serena noticed.Of course she noticed. She was sitting on the edge of my bed with her phone in her hand watching me turn the same page back and forth like it personally offended me."Are you going to tell me what's going on," she said. "Or are you going to keep pretending to read?""I'm reading.""Hannah. You've been on page four for forty minutes."I closed the book. She raised an eyebrow."Zachary texted me yesterday," I said carefully.Serena went very still. Then she sat up straight."I'm sorry. Come again?""He found my notebook. The one from the project meeting. He said I left it at his house."She stared at me."Zachary Reed. Texted

  • The Bully's Redemption    Chapter 24: Small Hours , Loud Thoughts

Hannah's POVThe next day I had to wake up very early — first reason was because I had class, and the second was because Tiffany was screaming her heart out.I woke up to see her on headsets while doing her tech thing, and it was as if she didn't care who heard her or not. It was like hearing a hawk singing, unless with Tiffany it was ten times worse. And the surprising thing was that it didn't wake Maya up — as I looked across the room she was just sleeping like an angel while I was suffering. But after like an hour or so, after I had finished bathing and all, as I came out of the bathroom she was already awake and in the middle of smacking Tiffany with her pillow and Tiffany was trying not to laugh. I looked at the situation and asked the first thing that came out of my mouth."What did she do this time?"Tiffany gasped with her hand on her heart."Oh my God… Hannah!!""What, you might've done something," I said chuckling."She threw her pen at me," Maya said."Well in my defense yo

  • The Bully's Redemption    Chapter 23: Under the Same Roof

Hannah’s POVAbout an hour later, everything had softened.Serena was on the floor with Madison, fully committed to whatever game they had created. Toys everywhere. Laughing. Madison bossing her around like she was the adult. And somehow… Serena didn’t mind.Evelyn and I were on the couch with tea between us, the atmosphere calmer now.Warm.Almost peaceful.Evelyn glanced toward them and smiled lightly.“I like how happy she is with Madison.”I followed her gaze.“She deserves it,” I said quietly. “After everything… I’m glad she’s laughing again.”That made Evelyn pause. She turned to me slightly.“Everything?”I hesitated. Then sighed. So I told her.About Serena’s father.About the call.About how quickly everything changed.Evelyn didn’t interrupt. She just listened. When I finished, she looked thoughtful.“I’m sorry she’s going through that,” she said softly. “But she seems strong.”“She is,” I nodded. “Stronger than she looks.”Evelyn smiled faintly.“I can see that.”Then she t

  • The Bully's Redemption    Chapter 14: The Door Opens

Hannah’s POV The next morning— I woke up nervous. Not the bad kind. Not panic. Not dread. Just… restless. Like butterflies had completely taken over my stomach. I stared at the ceiling for a while before reaching for my phone on the bedside table. 9:07 AM. My meeting with Evely

Hannah’s POVI stared at my phone like it had personally betrayed me.“…Evelyn texted me,” I repeated. No one spoke for about three full seconds. Then Tiffany practically launched herself across the bed.“Show me.”I held the phone tighter against my chest.“No.”“Hannah.”“No.”Serena was already

Hannah’s POV I couldn’t believe what I just heard. No… Actually I refused to believe it. I sat frozen in my chair while Professor Lawson continued speaking at the front of the class like he hadn’t just casually ruined my entire semester. A group project. With Zachary Reed. My stomach t
