ログインXavier’s POV
“What do you mean you let her go?!”Alaric, one of the royal council members but a close friend, shouted at the top of his voice as I narrated what happened during the fight earlier today.
“I….. I….. I didn’t…..have….I…. I was confused”, I stammered as I tried defending myself. “I saw my wife lying in front of me and you expect me to strike her dead just because I thought she was dead”, I added as slowly as I could.
“Your wife is dead!!!”, Alaric shouted again, “she is dead, Xavier. Get that into your skull before you damage yourself and this pack!!”. He added and pushed me back harshly.
“I couldn’t….. I couldn’t do it”, I cried silently. “I know I should have struck that woman but I saw Elowen”, I said and cleaned the streak of tears on my face. “The same face, same build, same voice but different personalities”, I added.
“And that is why you should have killed that evil woman right there!”, he paused for a while to stare at me. “I am disappointed in you as the Alpha of this great pack…. Your only work is to protect the members of this pack and for your information, you have…….”, he couldn’t finish his statement before a sharp voice cut him off.
“Don’t you dare finish that statement”, the voice said and we both turned back to see Mira, my younger sister and Elowen’s close friend when she was still alive entering the office. “I repeat, don’t you dare finish the statement”, she added and stood in front of Alaric.
Mira and Alaric don't get along so anytime they are in the same space, hell will surely let loose.
“And what if I do?”, Alaric replied and moved closer to Mira, maintaining a position that looked like two women in a chest fight.
“You dare not because you wouldn’t want to see what I would do to you”, she replied and Alaric turned again from her to face me.
“Xavier, your only work is to protect the members of this pack and you have failed woefully”, he said to my face loudly and I gulped hard. As I opened my mouth to talk, Mira’s hand flew to Alaric’s face and she slapped him hard.
“I will not stand here and watch you talk to my brother like that”, she muttered and raised her hand up again but I caught it before it could reach Alaric’s face. “Please, stop the noise. My head bangs”, I muttered.
“I will surely deal with you”, Alaric muttered painfully and stormed out of the office. “Gbamm!”, the door made a loud noise behind him as he left.
“Why did you slap him, Mira? You shouldn’t have done that”, I muttered again while rubbing my hands on my silky hair tiredly. “I have a lot on my mind right now and I don’t want to add yours to the lot on my mind. Why do you always pick a fight with Alaric?” I asked while holding my gaze with her.
“And why will you allow him to talk to you like that?” She slammed loudly. “You are the Alpha of this pack and no one is allowed to talk down to you”, she added.
“It’s a long story”, I muttered. “I saw Elowen, she directed the rogues that attacked us earlier”, I said slowly, cleaning the tears that were starting to form in my eyes.
“What…. Who… Elowen…haha”, she stammered. “That isn’t possible because she is dead and we buried her”, she chuckled.
“I know what I saw Mira….. I just saw my wife”, I paused and stood up from the chair I was sitting on, “she looked the same, carried the same energy but the Elowen I know will never lead the rogues to attack a pack and kill people”.
“And that is why she isn’t Elowen”, Mira cut me off brutally. “Elowen will never kill innocent people. Please, come off that thought and let us look for a way to tighten the security of this pack”, she said and sat down on the chair that I stood up from. “Sit down and let's talk”, she added and I sat down on the chair in front of her.
“What do you want to talk about?”, I asked.
“Why do you always let Alaric talk to you like that?” She asked. “You are the Alpha of this pack and nobody has the right to talk to you that way”, she said and I could feel her anger from the way she was speaking.
“He isn’t always like that”, I said
“Oh, oh. So why was he like that when I came in earlier?”, she asked again and folded her arms on her chest.
“I could have captured the woman earlier but I let her go”, I muttered with my face between my palms.
“What!! Why would you do that”, she stood up again and moved closer to me. “Your wife is dead, bro….. She is dead. We buried her and you were there too”, she said and held my shoulders delicately.
“I know what I saw Mira. I have been with this woman longer than I have been without her and even if she is with me in the dark…..”, I paused a little before I continued, “....I will always figure it out”, I sniffed.
“I miss her so much Mira… I miss her”, I said between my tears. “I miss her smiles, the way she talks and the way she makes me feel. So I think it is normal for me to feel this way after seeing her again”, I cried again.
Mira stood in front of me and pulled me closer as she tapped my back gently to calm me down. “I understand you but I want you to calm down, the pack members shouldn’t see you like this”, she said slowly. “If you really think she was the one you saw, I think you should talk to her before we take action against her rogue pack for attacking us”, she added as she continued patting my back slowly.
“I did”, I hicupped.
“You did?” she asked and moved back a little.
“Yes”, I answered and cleaned my tears with the back of my hands.
“What did you say to her? What was her reaction? Did she talk to you?” She asked the questions at the same time and I smiled sadly.
“Which one do you want me to answer first?”, I said amidst my smile.
“Just answer me”, she said and stomped her foot on the ground like a kid that she is.
“I was about to capture her when she faced me and I saw her face properly. I couldn’t think about anything again at the moment. All I did was call her name and I hugged her”, I said slowly.
“Ok, so what did she do?”, she asked again and sat on the chair that she stood up from earlier.
“One of the rogues she came with attacked me and I just had to let her go. She didn’t say anything…… I was so sure she was shocked”, I replied and adjusted my sitting posture.
“Then I don’t think that is Elowen. The Elowen that I know who is your wife and my friend would have been happy to see you and she wouldn’t stoop so low to attack the pack that she is the Luna of…uhmmm”, Mira said and she placed her hands on my thighs, shaking it slightly.
“Mira, I know that is Elowen because the moon crescent tattoo that I drew for her is still on her wrist”, I replied and pushed her hand away from my thighs. “And as long as the tattoo exists on her wrist, we will both lose our lives if we are not together”, I added.
“What?”, she screamed.
Xavier’s POV “Oh my goodness… what happened to you?”Mira asked immediately as I entered the palace grounds that night. “I told you, I warned you about it….. Why would I go ahead to do something like that without proper planning?”, she said again while checking my body like I am a kid. “I know but I don’t regret it”, I murmured. “What….. Where is the Alpha and brother I used to know”, she snapped. “I have never met this person you are talking about but I am so sure that she can never be Elowen”, she added and I looked up immediately. “I know what I saw Mira and I am convinced that she is my wife…. She had the same tattoo, she looked the same….”, I snapped angrily but I was cut short brutally by her. “But her personality is different”, she snapped angrily. “Everyone can get a tattoo….. You need to get back on track, I miss the Alpha of this pack”, she added and left the room angrily, banging the door behind her. “Uhmmmm”, I moaned painfully as I sat down on the chair beside me. I
Vesper’s POV “Run!!!”, I heard a loud and painful voice behind me as I stood in the middle of an unknown place staring at the fire burning angrily in front of me. I don’t know what I am looking for or why I chose to stay there despite the danger right in front of me, but I still stayed. The fire burning looked like a moving one because it kept coming closer to me. “Elowen, you need to leave now”, the voice said again and I turned back to see a tall man standing in the woods. I faced the man to see who was talking to me but I could not see who the man was. “I am waiting for you. Come to me”, he said again and this time, I lifted my feet and moved away from my spot but before I could lift the second, the fire covered me completely. “Nooooo!!!”, the man screamed as I burned away in the fire. “Ahhhh!!”I screamed in agony and my eyes opened immediately. It was all a dream. I sat upright with my hand clamped around my throat. For the first few seconds, I couldn’t move or say anythin

Vesper’s POV “What is the plan now?”, Darius asked as he stepped into the room fully with a glass of wine in his right hand and the other hand buried in his pocket. “There is no time”, he paused for a while and sat down on one of the couches in the room. “We have to attack before it is too late”, he finalized. “I know and I am working on that”, I replied slowly as I faced him because I was staring outside the window when he stepped into the room. “This is my fight and I want to do it the right way without mistakes”, I added, increasing the intensity of my voice. “I know and I am not disputing that”, he said and dropped the glass of wine on the table while spreading his arms to express himself. “I have told the pack rogues about your plan to attack the Lunaris pack for revenge and they are ready to fight for their queen”, he added and I stayed silent, not because I wanted to but because I was trying all I could to make sure that I do not say anything offensive to someone that saved
