The air around us became tense the moment I said that, silence followed as we both kept quiet, staring at each other. I knew Alicia had much to say, but was she buckling it all in? Has answering a phone call now turned into a crime? Or a crime I didn’t know about.

For what seemed like forever, she finally decided to speak. But my breathe hitched, hoping she wouldn’t say anything that’ll jeopardize our relationship, or something that’ll hurt my feelings.
