Megan's POV

"Megan? What are you doing here?" Dexter asked after he opened his door.

"Aren't you happy to see me, Dex?" I asked my brother, and I could tell he was not happy to see me, and he wasn't in the mood to speak with me.

He was only wearing a sleeveless tank top and sweatpants, and I could tell he was doing something since I could see a bead of sweat on his forehead.

"What do you want, Meg? If you are here to convince me to go to that stupid party your father-in-law was throwing, you already have my answer, and I don't need to repeat it to you." He said, and I could tell he was angry with me.

"Dexter, I just wanted to speak with you. I am sorry if Ashton's invitation upset you; I am worried about you, Dex." I said while I was wondering why he didn't invite me to get inside his place.

"Aren't you going to invite me in?" I asked, and I could see the disappointed look on his face as he stared at me.

"I am sorry, Meg, this is not the time; I wanted to be alone right now," my brother answered, and my face fell.

"Okay, when can I see you again?" I asked.

"I will call you Meg," he replied as his face relaxed.

"Babe, what took you so long?" A blond woman in her mid-twenties came in sight, and she linked her arm with Dexter. She was wearing my brother's shirt and was looking at me from head to foot.

I looked at her with wide eyes, and then I looked at my brother in disbelief.

"Who is she, Dex?" I asked when I couldn't stop being curious, and I felt frustrated with my brother. I got hurt that the reason he didn't invite me to come

inside his place because he was with someone, and I couldn't believe he would give up on Isabelle.

I am hurting for Ashton's sister, and I know my brother was still in love with Isabelle, and he was only doing all this to get back at Belle.

I could see the guilt written all over his handsome face as he looked at me.

"And who are you? I am Dexter's girlfriend, and if you are one of his ex-girlfriends, you better leave because he is now mine, and you better go before I drag you out." The woman yelled at me.

"I don't care if you are one of those women who are popular and rich; I am not afraid of you, so you better keep your distance," The woman said, and I could see the worried look on my brother's face as he turned his gaze at me.

"I regret to inform you, Miss, whoever you are in Dexter's life, you can never make him leave me, and knowing you didn't have any idea who I am, it only means you are a nobody in his life, you are just one of his flings," I declared as I tried to contain my anger.

"You are a bitch!" She screamed as she looked daggers at me, and I could tell she was ready to attack me, but my brother held her waist.

"Monica, stop!" Dexter said with authority, but it didn't stop his woman from struggling since I could tell she wanted to slap my face.

"I couldn't believe she was the reason why you didn't ask me to see your place, and I am so disappointed with you, Dex," I said, and I walked away from them hastily since I couldn't stand to see him with that woman.

I was trying to control my anger as I curled my fists on my sides, and how I wished I didn't ask my husband to drive me so I could leave right away. I could feel the hammering of my heart against my chest as I thought my brother had a new girlfriend, but I was sure that a woman named Monica meant nothing to him.

I wanted to call Ashton, but I told him I would be done talking with Dexter after three hours. I planned to surprise my brother, but I didn't expect that I would be the one who would be surprised, and I realized Isabelle must hurt him badly.

I hadn't seen Dexter with another woman, and I knew how much he loved Belle, but after seeing that woman wearing his shirt, I could say it was his way of showing the world that he was now ready to move on.

"Megan, wait!" I heard my brother's voice behind me, and I walked faster since I didn't want to speak with him just yet. I felt betrayed that he didn't tell me anything, and he made me feel like I was only a stranger.

"Megan, please," my brother was yelling, and I wanted to turn around and face him, but I couldn't stop feeling angry with him.

I ran, but my brother was faster than I was, and before I could get to the bus station, he was able to catch up with me. No matter how I tried to struggle so I can get away from him, I couldn't make another step as he pulled and spun me around.

"Let me go, Dex!" I yelled at him, but he was only shaking his head.

"No, I am not letting you go, unless you will speak with me," he responded, and I felt so defeated as I looked at him with dismay on my face.

I let out a heavy sigh as I stop struggling from his hold.

"There is nothing to talk about, Dex," I said.

"Meg, you have to listen to me," he replied.

"About what, that you don't love Isabelle anymore?" I asked, and I could see that he stiffened as I mentioned Isabelle's name.

"What happened at the resort was an eye-opener for me, Meg, I waited for her for so many years, but everything I did meant nothing to her." He said as he let go of my wrist.

"You know that is not true, Dex," I said in more than a whisper.

"She is still waiting for you, and you know that,"" I added.

"It took me a long time to speak with her, but at the end she only insulted me, Megan, and no matter how I tried to explain to her that I don't have a choice. I can't tell her about the NDA, Meg, she needed to trust me," Dexter said as he sat looked at me with sadness on his face.

"All I want is her forgiveness, I wasted so many years for her, and I was in too much pain because loving Isabelle was the most beautiful and ugly thing that ever happened to me." My brother added.

"There is nothing left for us, Megan, she will always be the daughter of Gregory Pritzgold while in her eyes I will forever be his father's schoolar. I made a fool of myself for believing in true love, it doesn't exist, and it is time for me to move on and find my own happiness." He continued.

"Besides, I knew even if I will be there for Isabelle; her father will never stop until we will end up hating each other again, and that party you were talking about would be a disaster." He stated and I shook my head.

"Dex, you don't need to stop believing in love, if you don't want to be with Isabelle anymore, I hope you will find someone better. I only meet Monica a while ago, and i could say, she is not the woman for you." I responded, and I could see the hurt on his face.

"Don't judge her, Meg, you just meet her," he replied.

"I wasn't judging her, Dex, that is what I had witnessed, she is not good for you. If you will look for someone new, I hope you will find someone who will respect any member of your family and your circle of friends." I declared.

"Give her another chance, Meg, Monica is great. I am sorry if she got jealous of you, she was remorseful and felt so embarrass after I told her you were my younger sister," he replied.

"She didn't expect you look so beautiful that she thought righ away you were my ex-girlfriend," my btother said, and my face softened.

"I just hope you will not regrer this, Dex," I declared, and he smiled at me.

"Don't worry, Meg, I know what I was doing," he replied.

"I can't force you to be reconnected with Megan, but I only wished you gave her another chance after what happened at grandpa Henry's resort." I said.

"I guess it is too late for that, Megan," he responded.

"I just couldn't believe you can find another woman right away; after that incident. I thought you love her that much, and I realized I was wrong." I stated.

"No, you weren't, Meg, you were right, I loved her so much that I had forgotten to love myself, and now, I wanted to find my own happiness." He replied, and I smiled at my brother.

"Good luck in finding your own happiness, Dex, I wished you can be happy again." I said.

"I am trying, Meg, all I ask from you is your understanding, and please, give Monica another chance." My brother begged.

"Okay, for you, I will try to speak with her again, kindly tell her to control her jealousy, it would be best if she would trust you." I replied.

"Thank you, Meg, it means a lot to me, and I am thankful mom and dad didn't tell you about it yet, I planned to tell you this weekend, but you needed to attend that party, and I wished you will not attend and you have to stop our parents from joining that event, Megan." My brother declared and I was shocked with his words.

"Why?" I asked.

"I could tell something is about to happen, Meg, and I don't want you and our family to be humiliated in front of Gregory's guests." My brother said.

"Hey, nothing like that will happen, Dex, if you will join this party, I am sure you will be excited knowing Gregory is now a different man." I replied.

"Believe me, Meg, it was only for his own benefit, I know how wicked he can be, and you better go back to Majuscule or else you will get hurt" He replied.

My face saddened as I thought because of what Dexter had experienced under Gregory's hand, my brother didn't trust him anymore. I wished Dex will be there during the party so he will know Gregory Pritzgold is now a good man.
