Magan's POV
"Do you have a ride?" Dexter asked, and I shook my head.
"Ashton dropped me off, and I told him not to wait for me since I thought you would welcome me in your place. I couldn't believe you have a woman in your house." I responded, and my brother's face saddened.
"Her name is Monica, Meg, believe me, she is a nice woman, just give her a chance, and I am sure you will like her once you know her," my brother replied, and I wondered if he was really over Isabelle.
"I am sorry, but I believe that first impression would last," I replied, and he shook his head.
"Come on, Meg, you know that is not true," my brother said.
"I don't know, Dex, I have to be honest with you; I like Isabelle, she is down to earth, and she loves you," I responded, and his face blushed.
"Meg, please, let us not talk about Isabelle, we will never work, and I realized we became different persons as we grew older. It is about time that we should move on with our lives." Dexter replied.
"Maybe we were both living our lives based on the past, and we had forgotten we needed to grow as an individual as well; what was left was the old memories, and the love was no longer there," He added.
I wanted to protest, but it felt like he was so confident since I could no longer see regrets on his face. Still, he looked so determined to move on with his life without Isabelle.
I couldn't stop feeling sad since I was rooting for them; ever since I learned about their love story, I wanted to help them to be together.
"I think you were just hurt, Dexter; you better speak with Belle." I insisted.
"You know me, Meg, I don't want to see Isabelle again; I am sorry if I have to stay away from your husband's family. I don't want to do anything with my ex, and the only way I can find myself and attain happiness is to forget her." My brother added.
"I am so thankful that I've got Monica in my life now, and I hope you will understand me," my brother stated, and I looked at him for a long time before I spoke again.
"I love you, Dex, and all I want for you is to be happy; I don't want you to have regrets; if you are sure about your decision, then I will support you. Don't ask me to be friends with your girlfriend because my sympathy will always be with Isabelle." I declared, and I could see the hurt on his face.
"I need to go now," I mumbled.
"I will take you to the Pritzgold mansion; just wait here, and I will get my car," my brother declared.
"I would be okay, and you don't need to drive me. I understand that you don't want to see any members of her family. I hope you will never forget I am your sister." I said.
"Of course, Megan, nothing changed between us. You will always be my little sister." He replied, and I smiled at my brother.
"I just want to remind you that there will be times that I will need a big brother; I hope you will be there for me when that time comes I stated, and Dexter moved closer to me.
"I promised you, Megan, I will be there," he said as he took my hand.
"Thank you for your understanding," Dexter added.
"Are you sure you don't need a ride?" He asked.
"Yeah, I can take a cab, besides I can call my husband, and I know he will come right away. You better go back to your place now; I am sure your girlfriend was waiting for you." I answered.
I was watching my brother as he walked away from me, and I was still unable to believe that he had finally let go of his first love.
"What is wrong? Why do you look so down, Meg?" My sister asked after I got inside on the passenger's seat of her car.
"Do you know Dexter has a girlfriend?" I asked, and my sister fell silent.
"You knew, and you didn't tell me about it?" I asked, and my sister looked at me sideways before she started her car.
"I knew about it, and I thought it wasn't serious. I am sorry, Meg. I knew you were close with Isabelle. Besides, it wasn't my story to tell. I wanted our brother to tell you about his new love interest," Ava replied.
"He was making a big mistake, Ava," I responded.
"He is no longer a teenage boy, Megan. We can do nothing about his choice. Honestly, I like Isabelle so much, I could tell she is not only beautiful, but she had a good heart." My sister said.
"Yeah, she is, and I don't know how to tell her about this," I said, and I let out a heavy sigh.
"You have to tell her about it, she deserves to know the truth, but you better tell her after the party, Meg," Ava replied, and I agreed.
"Of course, I don't want to ruin her mood. I could tell she was excited about it, and I am sure she would be brokenhearted once she found out the truth." I responded.
"I want a happy ending, and I didn't expect Dexter would decide to forget Isabelle. She used to be the only girl he ever wanted." My sister said in more than a whisper, and we both shared the same thoughts.
I asked my sister to come inside the mansion, but she declined since she would be meeting her boyfriend. I thanked Ava before she drove away from me; my steps felt so heavy as I walked inside the main house.
I wanted to turn around when I saw Isabelle coming my way. I didn't want to see her yet since I felt so guilty that I knew my brother had a girlfriend already. I insisted to Isabelle that she should lower her pride and fight for her love without knowing my brother had already let her go.
"Megan, it looks like you are not feeling well; you look paler. Are you okay?" My sister-in-law asked, and I smiled sweetly at her.
"I am fine," I replied, still wearing the same smile.
"Ashton told me you went to meet some of your friends from High School," Belle added, and I felt glad Ashton didn't mention to his sister that I met with Dexter.
"Yeah, some of my old friends in our neighborhood, I replied, and Belle was smiling at me from ear to ear.
I could tell she wanted to tell me something, and I wondered what exciting news she would share with me.
"I had been looking for you, Meg; I felt delighted that you are back," she excitedly said while I was staring at her beautiful face.
Isabelle was wearing a beautiful floral mini dress that hugged her body perfectly, and I knew I didn't have any right to tell my brother whom he should be with since he has the freedom to love anyone he likes.
"Why are you looking for me, Isabelle?" I asked.
"You should come with me, Meg. I wanted to show you something." Belle said, and I was wondering what it could be, and I felt glad she didn't ask me about my brother.
She motioned me to follow her, and I realized we were going to the second floor since she had taken the grand staircase while I was following her.
After walking through the long hallways, she stopped in front of the massive door, and I knew right away she had brought me to her room.
"Come in, Meg, this is my room," Belle said after she opened her bedroom door. I smiled before I got inside, and as expected, she had a spacious room, and I could see a queen-sized four-poster bed with a luxurious white bedding set. The bed covers were made from the most expensive fabrics.
"What is it that you want to show me, Isabelle?" I asked, and her face lit up as she walked towards her closet, and my mouth hung open as she pulled out a beautiful ruby-red V-neck gown.
"Wow, it's beautiful, Belle," I said as I admired the gown.
"Thank you, Meg; the last time I wore this gown was when I attended a wedding, and do you know who was my escort back then?" She asked, and I looked at her as I shook my head.
"Dexter!" She said, and I almost coughed.
"It was a beautiful day, and we had so much fun that day, and I didn't expect that would be the last day of us as a couple. My father got so angry after she learned I attended the wedding of his friend's daughter on his behalf with Dex.
"I couldn't believe dad would do everything in his power to separate us. And now, I realize you were right, and I should take the first step. I will lower my pride and ask him out, Meg; I am excited to meet your brother this coming Saturday." She said while my face fell.
"Hey, why do you look so stressed, Meg? You don't need to worry about Dexter and me. I am going to tell him how I really felt for him until now. I don't want to mess up again. Do you think he will forgive me, Meg?" She asked, and I cleared my throat before I responded.
"Of course, I know he will," I responded, and I hate lying to Belle, but I don't have the heart to tell her about Dexter and Monica.
"Yeah, I am sure Dex will remember everything about us; I promised to be with him all the time; I don't care if I needed to stay here in Astikoz just to get closer to your brother," Isabelle said.
"Things changed after Dad showed kindness to all of us, and I could tell father would not mind if I got back with Dexter." She added.
Belle beamed at me while I could feel the heaviness of my heart as I realized Isabelle would be waiting for nothing this coming Saturday since my brother would not attend the party.
Megan's POV"You looked so beautiful, Megan!" Alice exclaimed as she helped me with my veil."Thank you, Alice, I know you will be more beautiful than I am today on your wedding day," I responded."Ha! Don't make me laugh, Megan, you knew that is not true, you looked like a goddess while I am just an ordinary woman you can see walking on the street on an ordinary day." She responded and I shook my head."Stop that, you are beautiful, okay?" I insisted and she beamed at me before she hugged me."I am so happy for you, my best friend, so glad that the heavens favored you. You are marrying Ashton for the second time and your son is your ring bearer, and your family is complete." She declared."Yeah, I know, and I am so happy," I responded."We should get out of the car before your husband will come," Alice said and I laughed. She helped me with my gown as I got out of the bridal car, and I inhaled the fresh air, the day looked so bright and I could tell it is the best day of the year to
Megan's POV"What are you doing here?" Dexter asked right away after he opened the door of his place."Dex, aren't you happy to see us?" I asked my brother, and I could see the guilt on his face."I am busy now, Meg, Ashton, why didn't you call me?" He asked."It is something important and I hope you can spare us a little of your time," Ashton responded, and my brother sighed as he turned his back and opened the door wider so we could get inside."Have a seat," my brother said as he motioned us to sit on the sofa. His place was immaculate, and I could see that my brother was anxious like me."What do you want?" He asked as he sat in front of us."Well, I wished to invite you and be my best man since we are having our church wedding in less than a month." My husband replied, and my brother's face fell."I am sorry, but let us face it, if you will invite me, I will be bringing Monica with me. She is part of my life now, she is my fiancee, and it would be an insult on her part if I will
Megan's POV"No, that is not a good idea, Ashton," I said after I heard my husband speak about making my brother his best man for our upcoming church wedding."Why not? I want him to be present during our special day, Megan; I know it would make you happy. I knew what your heart desires, my love." He responded."Thank you for considering my feelings, Ashton, but my happiness will not matter anymore; I don't want Isabelle to be miserable on our wedding day," I responded, and he looked at me for a long time before he spoke."Megan, I don't think it will make my sister miserable; she will be happy to see your brother," he declared."Belle will be broken-hearted, Ashton, Dexter has a girlfriend now, and I hate him for turning his back on your sister." I responded with a sad expression on my face."Hey, we both know they are in love with each other, I am sure Dexter got tired of waiting, and it doesn't mean he didn't love my sister anymore." He insisted, and I raised my hands; I didn't wan
Ashton's POVMaking love with my wife would always make me feel excited and complete, and I couldn't explain the happiness I felt as I watched her sleeping peacefully in my arms after the hottest lovemaking we had ever shared. My wife turned me on like crazy, and I found it hard to stop my erection; the way she teased me blew my mind. Megan became bolder in bed, and I loved it, and I knew she only wished to please me.I was watching my wife's face with a beautiful smile on my face.I loved the feeling that I made her exhausted in bed. I knew we planned to have a night alone in the tree house, but something came up, but tomorrow night, it would be only for us, and I didn't want to stop surprising Megan.I wished to make her happy through simple things, and I knew my dad's offer was hard to decline. Marrying my wife for the second time would be the most especially gift we could give her, and I am excited since it was my father's plan.My dad and mom would be there standing beside me on
Megan's POVI know happiness was a gift from God, and after I gave Ashton's dad my forgiveness, I felt different. I didn't hate him, but I wanted to make Gregory accept me for what I am and as his son's wife.I couldn't deny there were moments in my life I wished I belonged to Ashton's world, but I realized I should be proud of who I am and what I have become."You looked so happy now, did your talk with my dad go well?" Isabelle asked when I saw her in the living room after speaking with my father-in-law."Thank God, Isabelle. Axel and I are officially part of your family," I answered with a broad grin."Of course, Megan, you were already part of our family after you gave birth to our nephew, and when you became our brother's wife, we became happier." She replied."Belle, you can't blame me for worrying because you know your father didn't accept me as your brother's wife. But right now, I was so overwhelmed with happiness that finally, your dad welcomed me as Ashton's wife." I declar
Ashton's POV"Can I have a word with you?" My dad asked me, and I nodded my head. We had been fishing for more than three hours, yet the boys were still having fun, especially my little boy.Axel had been shouting every time Lennon pulled out his fishing hook since he was the one who had been blessed to capture much fish. I was unlucky today; maybe the fishes on the lake felt the anxiousness that I felt in my heart.I was still apprehensive about my father's change of heart, and I couldn't stop myself from wondering if he was true to his words. My dad already fooled us once when he acted; he was so eager to meet and be with my wife, only to find out the truth later that he had another thing on his mind, and that was to humiliate my wife in front of everyone during the party he threw for us.He couldn't blame me if I doubted his intention at the moment. He looked so calm as he sat on the rock while I stood beside him, watching my grandpa Henry, Axel, and my brothers on the bank, waitin
