Ashton's POV

"Can I have a word with you?" My dad asked me, and I nodded my head. We had been fishing for more than three hours, yet the boys were still having fun, especially my little boy.

Axel had been shouting every time Lennon pulled out his fishing hook since he was the one who had been blessed to capture much fish. I was unlucky today; maybe the fishes on the lake felt the anxiousness that I felt in my heart.

I was still apprehensive about my father's change of heart, and I couldn't stop myself from wondering if he was true to his words.

My dad already fooled us once when he acted; he was so eager to meet and be with my wife, only to find out the truth later that he had another thing on his mind, and that was to humiliate my wife in front of everyone during the party he threw for us.

He couldn't blame me if I doubted his intention at the moment. He looked so calm as he sat on the rock while I stood beside him, watching my grandpa Henry, Axel, and my brothers on the bank, waiting for the fishing rods to move.

We brought charcoal and a griller since we planned on grilling the fish we caught. I was excited to eat the fresh fish from the lake. I wished my son to experience the same thing I had as a kid with our grandfather, and I was glad he was about to experience it; I never expected that a day would come when our father would be fishing with us.

"Ashton, I know sorry would never be enough. But still, allow me to apologize to you for everything I have done, especially to your wife. I know how much you love Megan, yet, I tried to make her hate you so many times, and I am glad her love for you was stronger than I thought." He declared as he looked at me sideways.

"I couldn't blame you if you do not forgive me, but I was hoping you would accept my apology, son. I promise to be a good father to all of you, my children, and a good grandfather to my only grandson, Axel." He added.

"Dad, my heart is always open to give you my forgiveness; I was only hoping that this time you are sincere, and you are not going to hurt my wife again, including my son," I responded as I looked at my father.

I could see the guilt and hurt that registered on his face when he heard my words, but I didn't have a choice but to tell him what was in my heart and mind because I didn't want to hope and be disappointed.

"I knew you would find it hard to believe if what I am saying right now was true because of what I had done to Megan. But believe me, son, I am so unhappy right now and miserable, thinking that I have failed my main duty as a father to you and your siblings." He responded.

"As I reflect on everything I did to manipulate all of you, I feel ashamed. I was so worried about Isabelle, and she might think I didn't care for her at all. I was only scared that she would get hurt and Dexter would only use her, but now I know that I was wrong." Dad added.

"I am just glad that Megan is a strong woman, and she didn't stop loving you, and now you are still together; I am so happy to see you, so happy, Ashton, because all I ever wanted is for my children to be happy. Yet, I was blinded by the power and wealth that I have." He continued.

"I thought someone from the lower class would only hurt you, and I didn't want anyone to enjoy the luxury of life that I provided for my children; that is why I asked you to marry someone from the elite society. I was such a fool for thinking; otherwise, I ask you to give me a chance to be a father to you, son." He said as he faced me.

I could see my father's sincerity through his eyes and facial expression. I felt so happy that my father came to his senses, and he is now ready to embrace reality; that wealth is not the only thing that matters in this world, but the relationship we have with our family and with other people.

"I still believe in the saying that goes, "It is better late than never," dad, so yes, I forgive you, and I am so excited for the upcoming days; to spend time with you and our family," I responded with a wide grin on my face.

"Thank you, dad; I am now so excited to celebrate special occasions with you. I am excited to spend my holidays with you too." I added.

"Yeah, I am looking forward to that time to come, Ashton, but before we talk about holidays, I think we should discuss your grand wedding." My father replied, and I was shocked as I looked at my dad.

"I wished to give you the grandest wedding, Ashton, in honor of Megan. I promised to give you that on the day you were born," he added, and I was speechless.

"It would be a day full of fun, and I couldn't wait to witness your church wedding with Megan, and this time I promised you I would be by your side on the altar as you waited and looked at your bride walking down the aisle." My father declared.

"Wow! That would be a wonderful plan, dad, I plan to marry Megan again in the church because I know she wished to have that, even if she didn't tell me, but I was afraid we couldn't give her a luxurious wedding since she only wanted a simple one" I responded.

"I always want to give my wife what she wished for, to let her know I honor her, dad, thank you for that brilliant plan; I appreciate it, dad," I responded, and he beamed at me.

"You don't need to worry about anything, Ashton; I've got it covered." My dad replied with a wide grin.

"I already talked about it with Megan, and I can assure you she wanted to have it, Ashton, because I told her that is what I wanted to give you, and it was my plan ever since you were a child, and I want to fulfill it, son." My dad answered, and I couldn't stop from beaming at him.

"You made my wife say yes?" I asked, and he nodded his head, and I became the happiest man on earth.

We joined the rest and continued fishing. I couldn't stop smiling as I helped Axel with his rod, and before our fishing ended, we got so many fishes in our bucket, enough for us to eat our lunch.

We grilled the fish we caught while returning the small ones to the water. I could smell the aroma of the grilled fish wafting in the air, and I could hear the grumbling in my stomach.

We went swimming after eating out delicious meal, and my brothers felt thrilled when I told them about dad's plan, and Axel was more excited than us.

"I hope dad will talk with me," I heard Cole say, and I turned my attention to him.

"Hey, don't worry, I am sure he was into it, he will embrace us all for what we are, and I am sure this time he will give us support for our choices in life. Don't worry too much, Cole, and I am sure in time, he will finally accept the fact that you love boys more than girls." I stated, and my brother laughed.

"I only love one man at a time, Ashton, and this time I am sure it's him," he replied, blushing, and even until now, I found it hard to believe that my brother was gay, but I love Cole, and I accepted him as he is, and I am proud of him for being so brave.

"I am happy for you, don't worry; one of these days, I will talk with dad about that matter; I will try my best to make him understand you, Cole," I said, and he beamed at me.

"Thank you, Ashton, it means a lot to me," he responded, and he swam towards Lennon and Axel while I watched them with a beautiful smile on my face.

I felt glad we had all fun, and we returned to the house when it was almost sunset, and I was a little disappointed that the girls hadn't returned yet from their shopping spree and salon escapade.

Our son fell asleep after he ate his snack, and I carried him to my room. I watched him with a broad smile on my face after I put her down on the bed.

When I heard the door opening, I didn't need to turn around to know my wife was home, and I smiled when I felt her arms around me.

"I missed you," he said, and I smiled.

"I missed you more, my love," I responded as I could feel my heart racing. I slowly turned around, and my smile widened when I looked at her face.

"Wow! You looked more beautiful, my love!" I exclaimed.

"You like it?" Megan asked as she turned her head from left to right.

My wife had a haircut, and I couldn't stop myself from feeling so hot as I pulled her closer to me and let her feel my excitement through the bulge on my pants, and she giggled as she pressed her body to me.

"I love it, my love, and right now, I am sure you knew I was excited and wanted to make love to you," I replied, and her face blushed; her intoxicating scent made me hornier, and I grunted when she tiptoed and kissed me on the lips, and we shared a mind-blowing kiss that enough to make her moan with excitement.

I realized I felt so happy to have Megan in my arms as my wife, and I am excited to exchange our wedding vows again, and I couldn't wait to marry her again.
