Megan's POV

"No, that is not a good idea, Ashton," I said after I heard my husband speak about making my brother his best man for our upcoming church wedding.

"Why not? I want him to be present during our special day, Megan; I know it would make you happy. I knew what your heart desires, my love." He responded.

"Thank you for considering my feelings, Ashton, but my happiness will not matter anymore; I don't want Isabelle to be miserable on our wedding day," I responded, and he looked at me for a long time before he spoke.

"Megan, I don't think it will make my sister miserable; she will be happy to see your brother," he declared.

"Belle will be broken-hearted, Ashton, Dexter has a girlfriend now, and I hate him for turning his back on your sister." I responded with a sad expression on my face.

"Hey, we both know they are in love with each other, I am sure Dexter got tired of waiting, and it doesn't mean he didn't love my sister anymore." He insisted, and I raised my hands; I didn't want to argue with my husband.

"You will speak with Dex; I am not doing it," I stated.

"Okay, my love, you don't need to do it; I will talk with your brother. I want our church wedding to be perfect. I like your entire family to be there for us because that is what you wish, Meg, and I want to give you the best wedding we could ever have." My husband replied, and it melted my heart.

I knew he was trying to be the perfect husband, and I didn't want to insist what he wanted was impossible. I don't wish Ashton to get disappointed with my brother. I am aware Dexter would never change his mind.

"Don't worry, I will come with you," I said, and his face lit up.

"You will?" He asked, unable to believe what he heard.

"Yes, he is my brother after all, and I felt more responsible in asking him to be part of our special day," I replied, and I couldn't stop the Knots in my stomach as he smiled at me.

The way my husband looked at me would always make me lightheaded, and how he smiled at me would always give me a different kind of thrill.

I was drawn into his mesmerizing eyes as I felt his hands on my hips, and when he whispered in my ears, all the hair on my skin stood up, and the way he trailed his lips on my neck was enough to make me grip his hair.

Sharing a searing kiss with my husband always made me feel happy and contented, and I realized I had made the right choice.

We went back to Astikoz City, and his parents, especially his dad, begged us to stay at the Astikoz hills together with the rest of Ashton's family at their mansion until the day of our wedding.

Our son became so excited, and Axel was having so much fun with Ashton's siblings, and our stay became more enjoyable since Ashton's grandparents came with us to their mansion.

In the days that followed, we became busier meeting the wedding planner and discussing the wedding requirements and our special requests, and taking time to balance my time to monitor the operation of my company even if I was away. Same with Ashton, he was always busy with his phone talking to his team, but he always found time to be with me.

I could trust Alice, but there would be times she needed me to make colossal decisions for the company. I like her working attitude; even if she is my best friend and I trust her with everything, she always gives me respect that I don't even need; I realized that is why we were best friends until now.

"So, now that everything is set, I think we need to meet your brother," Ashton said after we had eaten our dinner. I was sitting on his lap while we were enjoying our time alone on the balcony in his room.

My husband was caressing my hair while I ran my fingers through his arms. I could feel the evening breeze tickling my skin. Axel was in the family room with Cole and Lennon, and I am sure they will take good care of our son. I am just glad they trained him to spend only a little time with computer games; most of the time, they would be playing board games.

"Okay, I think it would be best to visit him tomorrow night. I will text him that we will be visiting his place." I responded.

"Okay, that is great; I want to finalize the invitation and give them to our honored guests as soon as possible." Ashton responded.

"Meg," he mumbled after a long silence.

"Mmm," I replied while my eyes were closed since it felt so good to feel his breath on my neck.

"Don't get angry with me; I knew you wanted a simple wedding, but I want it to be the grandest wedding of all time." He stated.

"And what is the problem now, my love?" I asked as I slowly opened my eyes and found his compelling eyes looking straight at mine.

"I invited all our classmates in high school." He replied, and his answer made me stand up in shock.

"What? Why do you need to do that, Ashton?" I asked with a raised voice and no matter how I tried to control myself, I couldn't stop feeling irritated.

"Hey, relax, okay?" He said, and I could see the guilt written all over his handsome face.

"How can I relax? You were right; I wanted a simple wedding. I don't need those bitches to witness the most important event of my life. They made my high school life miserable, Ashton." I declared while I could no longer stop the shaking of my shoulders as I remembered all the wicked things they had done to humiliate me.

"I had a purpose why I invited them, Megan." He responded.

"No, I don't want to see any of them; I only wanted to invite Oscar and Zachary." I replied.

"I know, but you need to listen to me, my love; I want to let them know we belong to each other now, to make them realize, in the end, our love for each other prevailed." Ashton explained as he came closer to me.

"I wished to show them that, finally, you had become my wife, and you are mine alone." He added as he put his hands on my waist, and I know every time my husband is near, I will lose my sense of thinking, and he will take control of everything.

"Don't you want to show them your sweet revenge, Megan? Just remember the day they laughed at you when you were thrown at the swimming pool, and they made fun of you. I was so angry that time and I knew I was such a jerk for hurting you so many times, yet still thankful that I was given a chance to be with you." My husband continued.

"I love you so much that I wished to show the whole world that you are mine," he said as he leaned his forehead on mine.

"I don't need to have revenge, my love; having you as my husband and being the father of my son and loving us every day was enough." I responded, and the gorgeous dropping panty smile he gave me made me tremble with excitement.

"But if you want to invite them since they were your friends in high school, I still believe in second chances; maybe some of them grew up and became better individuals; who knows? I am excited to meet them, but not because I wish to give them my revenge." I responded.

"Oh, I didn't know what I had done to deserve you as my wife, Meg, you are an incredible woman, and I love you even more." He said, and I giggled as I saw his facial expression.

"You are the best husband I could ever ask for, Ashton. Do you think we can invite Gael?" I asked, and his face darkened, and he slowly let go of me, and I knew it was a wrong question, but he couldn't stop me from inviting the person who made me what I am today.

"I am sorry, my love; I know with regards to Gael, I should control my emotions, but I couldn't stop myself from feeling pissed every time I remembered what he had done; collaborating with my father to hurt you was unacceptable." He declared.

"But, I knew Gael was one of the people I should thank and appreciate what he had done to you and our son. I owe him a lot for giving you comfort and for taking good care of you and Axel. If you want to invite him, I will call him and ask him to witness our union." He said as he looked at me with tenderness.

"Thank you, Ashton," I mumbled, and he chuckled.

"I couldn't believe we would invite those people who made our love story complicated," I stated as I stood beside him near the railings.

"Well, they made us stronger, and more in love with each other," he responded with a beautiful smile on his face, and I couldn't disagree with my husband, and we fell silent as we got inside his room.

"Are you ready?" My husband asked as he drove Lennon's car, and I nodded my head since I was not confident my brother would say yes.

We were on our way to Dexter's place, and I couldn't stop feeling worried that he would not welcome us or, worst, ignore us. After our last encounter, I haven't received any text messages from my elder brother. He didn't even reply to my message that we were coming.

He used to send me forwarded funny messages and positive quotes to light up my day. Still, after I showed to his face, I wished him to be with Isabelle, he stopped communicating with me, and it bothered me, but I wished to give my brother enough space since I knew he was hurting.

My husband and I were silent for the rest of the ride, and I was anxious since I knew my brother was upset with me. I was hoping Dexter would give us a chance to speak with him because it meant a lot for my husband to make our wedding day extra special by being surrounded by our family members and close friends, even with our enemies or the people who wished to tear us apart.

I was unlucky today; maybe the fishes on the lake felt the anxiousness that I felt in my heart.I was still apprehensive about my father's change of heart, and I couldn't stop myself from wondering if he was true to his words. My dad already fooled us once when he acted; he was so eager to meet and be with my wife, only to find out the truth later that he had another thing on his mind, and that was to humiliate my wife in front of everyone during the party he threw for us.He couldn't blame me if I doubted his intention at the moment.
