Chapter 11. Important Information

"She's delirious," William said after hearing the babbling of the little girl still closed her eyes. "Alana, wake up, dear." William gently rubbed Alana's cheek as the child looked so agitated that she was sweating.

Alana opened her eyes and cried. "Uncle, I saw my father coming," Alana said.

"Then why are you crying?" asked William, "did he make you sad?"

Alana shook her head as she cried. "I haven't seen his face yet, but Uncle woke me up."

"Oh God, then please forgive Uncle." William clasped his hands together as he apologized to the girl. "You seemed restless earlier, so Uncle woke you up."

"It's okay, Uncle. I'm not angry with you." Alana smiled as she held William's hand. "My father wanted to take me away, but I didn't want to be separated from Mom, Alan, and Uncle. I love you more than my father because he doesn't love me and Alan."

William stroked the child's head gently. "Alana, good girl, don't talk like that. No parent does not love their child."

"Yes, Uncle. I'm sorry." Ala
