The waves were higher this time, so beautiful the birds had to look down to see its beauty. The damages of the last few days by the water wasn’t a funny one. The knotted bamboo sticks we’re scattered around the sands, some were being returned by the water. The girls hadn’t been spared from the wrath, the house roof had to be repaired multiple times.

Phoebe Fresher took a walk round the house and frowned, the roof was alright and well fixed but the windows weren’t in their best conditions. She took the nail and pinned it to the wall, grabbing the hammer when she got interrupted by Drake.

“Hey baby,” her boyfriend whispered calmly into her ears, holding her by the waist, he wasn’t too slow giving her a great kiss, “and what do we have here, Phoebs?” obviously what he calls her.

“Trying to fix the windows,” she pulled back and took the hammer again, “it’s damaged.”

“Why don’t you get another one done, get the Islanders and pay them a little cash.”

“Like you’ve got some cash on your or something,” she felt crossed.

Drake swallowed the great remark and collected the hammer from her weak hands, “I don’t have coins here but I would when I...what about Sloane? She got some money, right?”

“What? No she doesn't, we lost a lot this month, our business went wrong. I need to come up with a plan for our next move.”

“Go somewhere else, like France, Spain, Saudi Arabia…”

“Are you seriously thinking right now?” Phoebe yearned, dragging the hammer right from his fingers, “you’re the worst.”

“Okay, you could go to Manchester, California, Philadelphia. Take a look at Manchester or even California, they have wealth implanted in their soil.”

Phoebe moved closer, her eyes scanning the area, it seemed like an idea just popped into her head, “you’re right, California, Sacramento, yes!”

“Nice, right?”

She gave a stern look then smiled, “nice, come here darling, let’s go check the system for clues.”

Phoebe walked him into the room, she pushed the dressing table aside and brought out a laptop putting it on, “Drake, you know when I get enough coins we’ll go on a vacation to Hawaii.”

“Yes,” he kissed her again, “and I’ll make sure you enjoy every…”

“Wait a minute!” Phoebe snapped, she had inputted some words into the system, some words were springing out, some codes. A woman’s pic was all over the internet, she had reported a case of theft and had told the police she had footages, real one, “we’re in a big mess,” the woman, Mrs. Smith, the governor's wife said in her report that she had met a strange man in the store who had stolen her bag from her, the next day, her house was robbed, though she had suspected there would be a robbery after her bag was stolen so she had played a smart one by exchanging the real gems with fake ones.

“Oh no, this is bad.”

“Mrs. Smith said she had a camera footage and she might have given it to the police, but we blocked all the CCTV cameras.”

“Or maybe you didn’t, maybe she knew you guys were coming,” Drake added, “maybe she knew something vital in her bag was missing,” he leaned on the dressing table., “Maybe.”

Phoebe sighed, “and she still had us take the diamonds, it all makes sense now, why she had made it so visible, and the gem collector had rejected it. Was it all planned out?”

“No it wasn’t,” Sloane had just entered the room, she was awkwardly dressed in a bikini and a jean jacket as cover for her sun dried skin, she turned to Drake, “Hi!”

“Hi Sloane, have you been listening to our conversation this whole time?”

Sloane nodded and sat close to Phoebe at least to look through what she was busy doing, “she said she had footages on the internet? Doesn’t she fear we might return? And moreover she said a man, that’s Jack's men, she would never suspect they were girls.”

“You said it wasn’t planned out.”

She almost forgot, “Mrs. Smith is a very cunning woman, she just need attention from the government, remember, they had threatened to impeach her. I blocked all the camera footages, I accessed the code, there’s no way she has proof.”

Phoebe didn’t want to buy the positive thought, “and what about the diamonds, she made us give our last coins to those we owe in thought that we’ll get a bigger gain through the diamonds and it was all fake,” she gave in a deep breath, “ it’s obvious it was all planned out. She might have a footage.”

Sloane took a slow move towards Drake and smiled, “don’t be a coward Phoebe, not everyone gets whipped in the ass and still sit back.”

“You daughter of a…”

“Stop!” Drake shouted, “if you girls think this is the best way to solve things then we could go to the ring or something. Sloane,” he turned to Sloane who was already looking angrily at him, “try to listen to Phoebe and understand her problems.”

Sloane asked, “which is?”

“Moving away, to somewhere else, like California…”

“Never!” Sloane cut her off in the most annoying manner, “we’ll stay here in Rhode till I get another client.”

“But…”

“That’s final,” Sloane turned to walk away.

“Why? Because your mom resides there or what?” Phoebe snapped back at her, “you know you can run but can never hide, you know it’s all about crime, our lives are painted black by our crimes, don’t prove to be so innocent.”

“You fool!” Sloane pounced on her, throwing a hard punch on her left eye.

Drake pulled her away, cautioning her to stay far away, “c’mon girls,” before he could finish the sentence, Sloane had stormed off, “Okay.”

Phoebe stared at Drake with a swollen eye and fell in his arms, “I just want the best for us all.”

"Hmm, what an interesting discovery," the lady in red muttered again, filling another empty cup with red wine. Her eyes were fixed on a bracelet on the table, the one she had taken, no, stolen from the library, even as she muttered her thoughts out, she couldn't get her eyes off it.She dipped the wine out of the cup in a despicable way. "You know, the girl, Sloane isn't useless, she could be of some help.""How?""Oh Amy," She uttered, it was obvious her mouth was filled with unsaid words as she stared at the maid sitting right in front of her. To her, Sloane wasn't one of her options, she was her only option. "The lady is planning to leave.""You did a great job spying, Demi,"Demi gave out a rude laugh with her eyes following every trail of it. "Did I? I have my ways Amy. Thanks to her.""So what is next?"She smiled, lifting her legs off the table, staring at the bracelet. She walked to it and held it between her fingers. A ten carat diamond br

  • The CEO's Stolen Moments   It's all so frustrating

The street was dark by the time she got there. Was it really the street or was it her life which had always been filled with darkness? She alone had the answers to the questions building up in her head, she alone could make things right, but how? things had already escalated to a point of no return. She saw darkness in the walls of lightness, it was so little, so tiny that she had taken it and built her life in it. 'Sloane, the thief of her time.'The restaurant wasn't far from her standing point, in fact she could see Rey sitting miles away. He was checking around with the corners of his eyes and when he finally sighted her he gave a hand up to the air.Sloane waved back and headed for the restaurant. Her legs were exceptionally swift as she ran to the door and pushed it open. Rey had already walked to her, helping her to the table he had chosen for them. "Thanks," she managed to say as she gasped for breath."Please have your seat Sloane," he pointe

She could had left immediately after the woman in men clothing but her mind couldn’t stop racing. Something deep told her the woman was someone she knew so well, someone she despised and even when she was looking directly at Fred, her heart couldn’t stop beating fast.“You could leave now,” Fred ordered, walking to sit on the bed.Sloane still stood in the same spot, not moving at all. She had met her past and she knew about everything. Phoebe was right after all. She didn’t know when she fell on the bed into Fred’s arms.He was looking directly into her eyes. Could he see her pains? “What are you doing?”Her legs were stiff looking into his eyes, she was so stupid for going on a mission this risky, her lips were closer to his as she tried to move away but the more she tried the closer they were. And soon her lips were on his. She could feel the intense love. No! She shouldn’t fall in love.Fred pulled away and left the bed, leaving her lying helplessly. “You sh

Rose stopped the cab at The Manchester’s mansion and paid the taxi driver, grabbing her coat on the chair handle. Her legs made loud noises as she walked on the wet ground with splashes wetting her hard boot.It was a not too good weather for a woman of her type. The last time she had visited this mansion was twelve years ago when she was still in good terms with Sloane’s father. The citizens had been invited for the wedding between Ray Manchester and Nike Raymond, an extended family to Maxwell Manchester that was the first and last day she had entered the building. From day one she had the feeling that Phoebe knew something about her long lost daughter and the feeling was right, Phoebe was Sloane’s friend. She thought about all this as she made her way to the back of the building, dodging all eyes. But why was she at the back of the building? It was still raining heavily and the tall building was beaten by the unfor

The window to the mini apartment flung open by the wind as the heavy downpour began. The meowing of cats and hooting of the night birds made it even worse to think straight. It was a scary hour in Mission Hills.Phoebe ran to the door of the apartment with hand tucked to her pocket, she knocked on it with the strength left in her after a whole race from nature, finding no excuse to bring the door down if no one answered, but there wouldn’t be a need for that as the door creak came loud in her ears and someone signaled her to come in.With hands still tucked to her pocket, she walked into the lit house.“I’ll help with your coat,” the woman smiled, helping her pull off her jacket. She took it away from her hands and hung it on the wall close to the door. “Please have a sit.”Phoebe smiled and sat in the old couch, with furs on it like that of an unshaven yeti. The apartment was not too bad as she had thought, the lamps were brightly lit like those in scary movies

  • The CEO's Stolen Moments   Darn it! i'm stuck!

When Fred woke up, he felt a sense of relief, one he couldn’t place.Drinking to stupor wasn’t a norm but the best relief during the times of pain. He could remember her touch, feeling her breath on his bare chest, but her face was blank. Shit! He shouldn’t have drank to stupor. Two empty bottles of whisky on the floor was an evidence of his carelessness. He wouldn’t be heading to the company today, he would spend some solid time in the library since his annoying father had left for a meeting in New Orleans. The chirping of the birds drew him to the window where he witnesses, again, a clear view of utmost victory, Fremont. A smile was worn on his face seeing beautiful families roam the streets; husbands kissing their wives, turning their little kid’s face away, wives cautioning their husbands to play it cool. Fred smiled. It was a tradition in the family to get married at an early age, he had broken that rule as the oldest ag

“Where’s my father!”Fred welcomed everyone with this words, his eyes filled with rage. He was perambulating round the living room, his hands sweating from the edginess inside of him.“What’s wrong Fred?” Mrs. Kareena walked up to him.“I need to see that man who calls himself my father, that selfish man.”“Enough!” Mr. Manchester appeared from the opening passage, his smirk filled with pure evil. He slowly walked to his son. “Here I am.”The workers had their eyes on what they called the unending father and son drama.“What did you do Mr. Maxwell? What happened to the funds for the charity home?”Mr. Manchester smiled, he was smiling so hard and refused to speak.“Talk to me,” Fred drew his father closer. There were gasps from all corners of the room.“Everyone go in!” Mrs. Kareena ordered and they all obeyed. His hands were still on his father’s neck collar. “I raised a million dollars each for four charity homes only for me to wake and it

Phoebe hung up, turning to the woman by her side. The woman had been staring at her for a long time now. They were sitting by the water fountain, the woman had a pet, a cat, in hand.“What’s wrong?” Phoebe said to the woman who still didn’t take her eyes off her.“You were speaking on the phone not realizing my cat had scratched your elbow,” the woman chuckled. Her wrinkled neck revealed behind her hood, she was looking really rough and depressed, with her sagged boobs also revealing behind the heavy clothing.Phoebe looked down at her hand and saw the mark given by the cat, she was so caught up in the call and was eager to know what was up with her friend that she didn’t realize the injury. “Oh shit! I was so caught up in the conversation with Sloane that I didn’t…”“Sloane?” the woman replied, carefully running her fingers though the furs of the little cat. “I had a daughter na

A gigantic house like this should have signboards, this was what she was thinking, trying to get a clue on which passage leads to the bunkhouse. The frustrating old lady had ordered her to call the workers herself since she was being paid for job, if truly she was the one getting the money then she wouldn’t be wasting her time trying to steal from the arrogant and insensitive Fred Manchester.“I despise him!” she cursed, heading towards the first passage at her sight, it was separate from the building, definitely not the one leading to Fred’s room. The lobby was a dark one with flames building up at one angle and at the other was a caged dove, one would think it was a lane for sorcerers. She was still moving, searching every opened door with her eyes. Phoebe had warned her not to ruin their plans but it seemed like there was nothing to ruin since none of her plans had been carried out without being seen by the old lady, if only someone had told her there was
