The next day, Reed woke up from the pain, feeling like the lower part of her body had been ripped apart. She couldn't believe what had happened last night.

On her wedding night, Dave had treated her as if she was his enemy and took her virginity. What Dave had done had ruined all her previous fantasies.

The bed side beside her was already cold. A drop of scarlet blood on the snow white sheet looked particularly irritating.

Reed got up and went to the bathroom to take a bath despite her pain. After freshening up, she looked around Dave's room for a new bed sheet and changed the sheets.

She then proceeded to walk out of the room heading downstairs.

Standing at the entrance of the stairs on the second floor, Reed saw Dave, sitting behind the dining table with a file in his hands as well as having breakfast.

The golden sunshine in the morning shone on his side through the half opened window, making him look warm and holy.

Over the past years he had been visiting the Defiant family home, Reed had secretely fallen in love with his mannerism. But ever since she was told Lita would be marrying Dave, she shook off all thoughts she had of Dave.

Marrying Dave and living under the same roof for breakfast had been something she dared not dream about. But today, she dared not take a step forward.

The way he had ravaged her like a beast last night reminded her that she had never really known Dave Mitaka.

"Miss Defiant, you're awake."

While Reed was staring at Dave, a servant who had already seen her greeted.

Her heart trembled slightly as she nodded at the servant and walked slowly to the dining hall.

She placed the lingering fear that had gripped her mind away as she sat opposite Dave.

The servant then brought her meal.

Reed who had no appetite just ate a few mouthful ceremonially. She looked up and found Dave had barely touched his food.

"I'm sorry I was up late. From tomorrow onwards, I'll wake up early to make breakfast for you." Reed said in a gentle voice.

It was unknown whether she said it to enliven the atmosphere or to keep the marriage whose fate was unknown.

If I do have any talent, it should be cooking. She thought.

After saying that, she was somewhat expectant however, Dave threw away the tableware in his hands and got up.

"Let's go, the car is waiting outside." Dave said indifferently.

"Where are we going?"

At this time, Dave who had already walked to the door replied without looking back. "Let's go back to your family."

...................

We arrived at the Defiant family house in Dave's car. However when I followed him into the house that was suppose to be empty, I saw Lita, whom I had said goodbye to two nights ago, standing with our parents in the living room.

Lita's eyes were overwhelmingly swollen, indicating that she had been crying for a long time.

Our parents who were standing next to her looked angry.

I glanced at Dave and I panicked.

Although Dave couldn't get whatever he wanted in this city, if he wanted to mess with someone, it would be a piece of cake.

As I was wondering what was going on, I saw Dave taking a few steps forward and holding onto Lita who was crying in his arms directly.

He lowered his head and comforted her gently, "Are you okay?"

The gentleness in his eyes was something new to Reed.

As soon as she saw this scene, Reed's heart trembled. Just as she had figured out what was going on, her father came to her front and slapped her, making her stamble back, hitting the wall.

Before Reed could come back to her senses, she heard him cursing angrily. "Reed Defiant, we have been raising you all your life and this is how you chose to repay us?"

There was a smell of blood in Reed's mouth as she stood there in a trance.

She looked at her father and asked confusingly. "What...?"

"How come you have the nerve to ask me any question? Did you assume that we won't find out what you have done? You schemed against your sister, fed her sleeping pills and attended her wedding as the bride. If we hadn't found out earlier and took Lita to the hospital, I don't know if she would be alive by now!"

After that, Mr. Defiant raised his hand and gave Reed another slap.

This slap was more vicious than the previous one.

Reed stood there dumfounded before she fell to the ground. Her eyes were blurred with tears but she wasn't shedding no tears.

Two nights ago, Lita said she had fallen in love with one Michael who claims to be rich. Since their parents feared to go against Dave after finding out, they asked Reed to take Lita's place by marrying Dave. In the end, how was it that she set up Lita?

Reed's mind was a mess.

Things gradually dawned on me, which I didn't want to believe.

My father who seemed to have not gotten off his fury picked up a small wooden bench from the side and smashed it on my head.

I tried to block it as well as hide only to be hit hard in the back.

It hurts!

I was in great pain but I held back from crying and screaming which has been my norm.

All this while, even if I was sick and felt unwell, I didn't have anyone to accompany me. Nor did I have anyone to share my sorrow with.

As time went by, however painful I was, I wouldn't reveal my feelings with anyone.

Seeing that I wasn't crying, my dad was still angry as he proceeded to hit me a few more times, making me bite my lips tightly so as to not make a single sound.

Finally, my mother couldn't stand it anymore as she grabbed the stool and said. "It's enough. You'll beat her to death if you keep hitting her!"

Mr. Defiant threw the stool away and said angrily. "She deserves it."

After hearing the sound indicating that the stool had fallen to the ground, only then did Reed dare to stand up.

She looked up and saw Lita in Dave's arms.

Lita looked at her and said to Dave. "Dave, look, my parents have hit her so is it okay that you just spare her? After all it's inevitable that she has learnt something bad at her age."

Although Lita's tone was sympathetic, Reed could see clearly that she didn't look at her with sympathy but with shrewd calculation.

The look in her eyes was Reed's certified guess.

They deserve each other. I hope poor Reed gets the hell away from the lot of them and they all suffer for their evil, especially the rapist and her sister.

My heart pounded against my ribs as I took a shaky breath, trying to steady my emotions. But as I turned to face the guests, my family, my friends, and most of all, the man standing just a few steps away, my voice trembled with overwhelming emotion."This isn’t just Kim’s wedding," I finally said, my voice thick with unshed tears. "It’s mine too."Gasps filled the air, followed by a stunned silence. Then, all at once, the crowd erupted into excitement.I heard my mother’s joyful sob, saw Kelvin blinking in surprise before his face broke into a smile. Kim squeezed my hand, winking, and Desmond chuckled beside her. But my eyes weren’t on them. They were on Dave.He stood motionless for a moment, his eyes locked on mine. Then, with the help of his crutches, he began to walk toward me, determination in every step. When he finally reached my side, he lifted a hand to my face, his thumb brushing against my cheek.“You’re crying,” he murmured, his voice thick with emotion.I laughed shakily,

Dave surely wouldn't say no to Desmond.Seeing that Dave had personally agreed, Desmond couldn't be more joyful.Hearing Desmond's words, Dave lowered his eyes slightly. Falling silent for a moment, he didn't promise Desmond immediately.I knew what he was hesitant about. In his current situation, it was difficult for him to stand on stage. He might need a crutch. As I was about to refuse on behalf of him, Dave spoke first, "Okay, no problem.""Then I'm leaving. I won't bother you two anymore!"Hearing that Dave had agreed, Desmond left. After Desmond left, I said with some concern, "Desmond is one of us. If you are in a difficult position, tell him directly.""I know." Dave looked up at the rehabilitation equipment on the side and said, "But we agreed on this a long time ago. I can't let him down."It made sense. Desmond had always been by Dave's side. They two should have agreed on this early.Dinner was a quiet affair, but in the best way possible. The kind where words weren’t alw

Dave and I lived in the town for a while. When we lived together, Dave would make love to me against my will with the excuse that it would be conducive to the recovery of his legs.Frequently, we didn't go to bed until the middle of the night. I was so exhausted that I didn't even know when he had gone to rehabilitation in the morning. One and a half months later, Dave's legs had recovered to a great extent. He could walk for a short distance without a crutch. On the last day of the rehabilitation training, the doctor told us in the rehabilitation room that Dave could return to the City, saying that he could finish the rest of the rehabilitation training at home.Hearing this, Dave bought flight tickets on the same day.We went back and packed up our things before setting off.The next night, Dave and I landed at the airport. After going back home, Dave and I didn't get Bryan back to our side for the time being. Teresa walked gracefully and looked at us, asking, "What happened?"She looked as if she was watching a good show. From this, I knew that she surely had been eavesdropping inside for a while and that she surely had known what had happened by this time.Having been in contact with Teresa for a long time, these people were naturally close to her.Hearing her question, everyone told her what had happened.Teresa looked at me with an unconcealable smile on her face, saying to me, "People in this town are clean and simple. How can you act the same way as you did in the City? You are a discredit here.""He gave me the key." I defended myself.Teresa surely wasn't convinced as well, saying, "Even if you are lying, you have to make up convincing lies. Everyone knows that you and I are both kept outside here. He probably doesn't even know that you are here. How would he give you the key?"As Teresa spoke, she had a smug look in her eyes.Sure enough, after she finished her words, the ones arou

Picking up my cutlery and taking a bit of rice, I said, "I'm leaving tonight. I'll come see you every night in the future.""Why?"Hearing this, Dave was a little puzzled.I chuckled, "I won't tell you! Anyway, don't let others know that I've been here."I didn't tell him why. However, Dave was so smart. Seeing my expression, he immediately said, "You want to keep her in the dark, right?"I nodded.Since Teresa had put in so much effort to put on a show, I naturally wouldn't let her act in vain.He nodded. However, when I left, I didn't climb over the wall again. Dave found someone and gave me a key to the back door locked all year round.I left through the backdoor. The next morning, I went to the hospital as usual.Teresa wore a blue and white dress with knee length today.Sitting on the opposite side of the road, she stared at the hospital door in a daze. When I went over, Teresa looked up at me and said with a hint of disdain, "I thought you were gone.""No, I didn't."There was a

A long time seemed to have passed since we made love. However, Dave was quite familiar with my body. Hooking my arms around his neck, I looked at him and said, "I want you."I rarely said so.At this moment, I knew that by seeing what I did and hearing my words, Dave could be infinitely confident.Raising his head, Dave hadunconcealable excitement in his eyes.Reaching out and pushing aside the strands of hair on my cheeks, he said, "You have me.""You have me."After he said so, the ambiguous and warm atmosphere permeated the room.By the time I opened my eyes again, day...Someone outside knocked on the door. A nurse seemed to be calling Dave to do the rehabilitation training.I looked at Dave sleeping soundly beside me with my face slightly blushed. Last night, we had been making love for a long time. Dave seemed to have inexhaustible strength. One or two hours had passed only since we went to bed.Dave, like me, heard what the nurse had said outside. Without opening his eyes, he
