Zach met the family having breakfast when he arrived. Delilah stood up to welcome him with a hug and a huge smile on her face.
" Welcome home, Zach. " She greeted.
" Thanks. Good morning, everyone. " He greeted.
" Morning. " They chorused.
" So, are you done with the business now? " Jennie asked as she puts a piece of meat into her mouth using a fork.
" I am not done with business and I will never be as long as I am alive. You didn't let me enjoy my stay and meeting there as if I was gone for a year, mum. " Zach spoke as he pulled out a chair and sat on it. He wasn't going to eat breakfast in his state, he just wanted to have a chat with the family.
" I am your mother of course, what do you expect? " Jennie glared at him and Zach chuckled.
" How was the business trip? " Ezekiel asked his son.
" It went well. The contract was sealed and they proposed to invest more in the business. " Zach replied with a smile. Everyone was happy at the news and made a toast to the company's progress.
" I need to go and freshen up. " Zach said and stood up.
He headed towards the staircase.
" Do you need someone to send your breakfast upstairs? " Rose asked.
" I will be in my room. " Zach replied as he climbed up the stairs to go to his room.
" He is a responsible man now. " Jennie praised.
" He took after me. " Ezekiel replied and Jennie frowned.
" Are you by any means insinuating that as his mother, I am irresponsible so he couldn't get that trait from me? " She asked.
" What? No, our Rose is a responsible lady as well so she takes after you, darling. " Ezekiel said the words he could think of so as not to annoy her. The two ladies, Rose and Delilah smiled at their banter.
" Speaking of him being a responsible man, don't you think he should settle down as soon as possible? " Jennie mentioned all of a sudden.
" You mean we should get him married? " Ezekiel sipped his juice. At the mention of Zach getting married, Delilah's ears were invisibly longer than usual to know what their opinion was.
" Yes. " Jennie answered.
" Excuse me, I need to make a phone call, please. " Delilah said.
" All right, dear. " Jennie smiled at her and she left.
" But mum, don't you think that is quite too early? He is only twenty-six. " Rose said, not sure of her mum's decision.
" Nonsense. He has everything a lady could ever want in a man. He is rich, he has good behavior and he is very responsible, he is one of the eligible bachelors in this city and Country. Did I forget to mention that he is handsome and quite hot? So, why would any lady refuse to marry my son? Moreover, he isn't getting any younger. There isn't anything hindering him from getting married as well so the earlier the better. " Jennie explained.
The father and the daughter pair acknowledged that concept.
" And I think I have the perfect match for him. " Rose giggled.
" Who? " Ezekiel asked.
" Delilah. " She whispered.
Delilah who was at a hidden corner smiled at the mention of her name. She was very anxious at first when the marriage thing was mentioned so she had to excuse herself to make a fake phone call. Now that everything was settled, she could rest assured about what position she held in this magnificent family.
" That's right. She is the candidate I have in mind as well. We have known her since childhood so she is the perfect daughter-in-law. " Jennie accepted that. Ezekiel said nothing to this but he did not go against it. Delilah came back and settled down for a while, pretending not to have heard a single word.
" Aunt, I think I should go and serve Zach breakfast in his room. " Delilah suggested.
" It's no problem, my dear. " Jennie chuckled and instructed the maid who was standing not too far away from the dining table to dish out Zach's breakfast for Delilah. She carried the tray and left the dining room.
" She will make a good wife and daughter-in-law," Ezekiel commented.
Jennie nodded. To be frank, she couldn't wait to tell this piece of information to her friends that she would soon become a family member with Delilah's mum and their friendship wouldn't just be an ordinary friendship anymore but a mother-in-law one. All she needed was to bring the two of them closer and boom! they would be married. This seemed like a perfect plan.

THREE MONTHS LATER.Hera was standing in front of Austin's picture. She was staring at it with mixed and complicated emotions in her eyes before rubbing her hand on it. She smiled at the picture and sighed.Zach came behind and kissed her neck. "Hey, Are you okay?" He asked her. "Yeah." She answered and turned around. Hera placed her hands around his neck. "I was just remembering what had happened in the last few months." She said and received a kiss on her forehead. "Hmm. It's probably for the best." Zach answered this time around. The best? A happy ending? "Come on, let's go. We don't want to be late, do we?" He held her hand and the two of them walked out of the room in matching outfits. Zach locked the door before opening the car for Hera. They both entered and wore their seatbelts at once, causing Hera to smile.Today was Thanksgiving and Ezekiel alongside his wife had invited her over to join the rest of the family. As he drove them, there was a song playing un
Hera was crying while sitting inside the station. She really missed her son and prayed that nothing would go wrong with him. The more Zach watched this, he was going crazy but he couldn't do anything because the cops were still trying to figure it out. Also, the process seemed to be slow to him. He sat beside her and placed her head on his shoulder while she was crying. "I am sorry. He will be fine, I promise."Hera thought, how could he promise such when he didn't know what to do? She just wanted her son back no matter what. "We have been able to find the location." The cops informed them and Hera stopped crying immediately. She stood up. "Let's go." "Sure."Just then her phone rang and she answered it. "Have you done the video yet..."Someone started shouting from beneath and it seemed that a fight was going there. Hera and others could hear Austin scream. It was evident what they were fighting for because the swearing and shouts were just too much. But Hera could hear the s
"I love you, Uncle Ben," Austin said eagerly to Ben but the man was less concerned. He was frowning deeply. "You love me? I can't see how you love me. You exposed me in front of Mrs. Young. Do you know the problem that you have made me go through? Now I will end up in army school." He answered. "So what? You will become stronger and you will be serving the country as well." Austin saluted and Ben just covered his face with his palms. Why was he babysitting this boy? He was too old for his age. "Do you need ice cream?" Ben asked him after a while because it would be better if he pleased the young boy and he gives a good report about him at home then he wouldn't have to go to the military. "Yes," Austin answered and Ben nodded. "Wait here, let me get you one..." A van suddenly came from nowhere and Austin was grabbed into it fiercely...the kidnappers not bothering to check for any physical injuries or if Austin might have hit something with any parts of his body. Be
"Hello there. Good evening. It's lovely to see you tonight." Elizabeth grabbed Jennie harshly to hug her. Ezekiel had invited them over for dinner with his family and even Hera alongside Zach was shocked to see them. He stared at his parents suspiciously as disappointment showed on his face. Why were they here in the first place if not because his parents were trying to make him go against his wish? He hissed and wanted to leave but Hera pulled him back. "You have to be patient. You can't just jump to a conclusion without knowing what is going on." She convinced him. "If this has to deal with me leaving you then they should forget about it because it's not going to work at all." He replied and Hera sighed. Sincerely, she hoped that it wouldn't come to that. "Where is Gabriel?" Ezekiel asked Cyril. "Oh, he went back to the country. He said that he had a concert or something like that. Delilah will check up on him anyway." he answered. "That's great," Ezekiel responded. Jennie could
By the time Jennie got back home, she just needed somewhere to rest and also someone to keep her company. A lot of things had been happening and she had been thinking a lot lately which was not good for her health. She held the side of her gown while holding to her fashion bag as she walked into the mansion, her expensive heels clicking against the surface of the hard tile. She looked around wondering where everybody could have gone but she didn't see anyone except a few maids working at a distance. Just as she was about to climb the staircase, she started hearing some noises that later seemed to be whispers and after a while, grew into a full-blown loud conversation.Ben came out of a corner talking affectionately to someone on the phone. "Yeah...I know and I love you too. Babe...babe, just listen to me, okay? I will get you whatever it is that you want and I will come and visit at school...a lot, darling. There are business engagements and stuff for me to run. Hera isn't working
