Marvin
“I assume this bar is new?”
We had finally arrived at Danny’s party and entered someplace I couldn’t remember. “Yes,” Panther replied. “They’ve been here for like two years. I heard they’re in charge of the bar at Tiago’s wedding.”
“Times have changed, haven’t they.” I smiled as I walked in further. Four years ago, Tiago was still in high school, and now we were talking about weddings and bars. “Not really. You were just locked up.” Panther chuckled.
“Come on.”
I followed him upstairs to which appeared to be the VIP section, and noticed Danny and his entourage. The expression on my face had changed as I looked at Misty, who was seated on his lap.
It seemed like she did not only got her lips done, but also her boobs and her ass. It was only getting worse and boy had I dodged a bullet.
She let out a surpris
Elena“I’m sorry, my bad.”I pulled my hoodie over my head and reached down to grab my phone as I was determined to ignore all contact with the person who had bumped into me.“No worries,” I whispered as I stormed off and made my way towards the bar. Today was a workday, and the wedding was getting closer, which also meant my meeting with Marvin was slowly getting closer, and I was as nervous as one could be.“If you didn’t want to work today, you could’ve just said so,” Rona laughed as I walked past her. She followed behind me and removed my hood from my hoodie. “You know why I’m nervous,” I spoke. Besides Victoria, Rona was the only other person aware of the mess I had gotten myself into.“Come on, calm down,” Rona reassured me. “You still got some time left, and besides that, it’s not as if you’re going to see the Marvi
Marvin“I don’t have words.” Mario Castillo shook his head in disapproval.I knew my dad wouldn’t be happy with the decision to call agent Clover to arrest Danny Hernandez, but I could not let that man walk free any longer.“Tiago’s wedding is in a few days, and you’re pulling crazy stunts as if getting released from prison wasn’t already enough.” My dad growled out.“I did what I had to do, and I saved all of those girls, so I don’t care what you think of me.”“And we were about to throw him to the wolves anyway, so what does it matter?” I chuckled. “The issue has already been taking care of.”“Yes, and now they know that we have something to do with it!” Victor agreed with my dad. To be honest, I didn’t even know why he was in the conversation. He wasn’t even a real part of the family.“You?&
Elena “Will this be all?” The male behind the counter asked. He frowned at the saw, ax, and planks of woods before his eyes landed back onto me. “That’s all...for now.” I smiled with trembling lips. I knew I looked suspicious and that it didn’t look good, but what else could you expect me to do? Tomorrow would finally be the day that I would meet Marvin, and I had to be prepared. Yes, I was silly enough to be in love with him, but I wasn’t foolish. I had to be ready in case our meeting went wrong. The altercation at the club gave me the wake-up call I needed. What if Marvin was nothing like the emails? What if he was a stuck-up prick who hadn’t changed a bit? I paid for the materials and smiled at the guy. “Thank you, have a nice day!” I told him before I rushed out and made my way over to my car. I was so nervous and excited at the same time. Marvin could possibly end up being the man of my dreams or the worst nightmare of my
MarvinToday would finally be the day.I was finally going to meet the person I just couldn’t stop thinking about. Elena Torres.“The wedding is not today. It’s tomorrow.”I turned around to look at Tiago, who leaned against the door. “For how long have you been standing there?”Even though we were both staying at my parents’, it was quite a surprise that he even came to visit me. “I’ve seen you change your shirt about six times.” He admitted as he walked in further.“Tell
Elena“Come on, just work along for once!” Tori scolded me as she forced her nose underneath my armpits.I could hardly believe that I was just an hour away from meeting the potential love of my life, Marvin. It was already surprising that a goody-two-shoes like me was able to look past all the charges so that I could be with him. What if he would bail on me?What if this was just one of his stupid jokes?“You smell like roses. Let’s keep it that way.” Tori smiled as she placed her hands on my shoulder. She had stopped by my house to do my makeup because apparently, I sucked at it. Usually, I would complain, but this time
Elena“You’re perfect...you literally look...drawn.” I gulped. It hadn’t even been a second, and I had already made a fool out of myself. Marvin snorted at my cringe-worthy comment and brushed his hand against my arm.“Lena.” Marvin smiled. “I know you said you’d heard it before, but you look...perfect.”I felt my heart melt at his comment and took a tiny step back, so I could finally release the breath I had been holding back. I was finally able to see him from up close. My eyes traveled from his thick dark brown curls to his thick, soft, angled eyebrows. He had beautiful narrow almond eyes, which were colored in a beautiful dark brown. H
Elena “I’m sorry, is my smacking annoying you?” I asked, embarrassed as I dropped my fork. I had an urge to enjoy my food but now was not the time. Marvin watching my every move made me nervous. He was someone who was not afraid of eye contact, not even when I caught him staring. “It’s okay. Just be yourself.” “So tell me about yourself. What do you do?” Marvin asked. It was a question that I hated the most because I really wasn’t that much different from a loser. “Oh, uh,” I mumbled as I tried to give him an answer. “I live with my dad. I work at a cocktail bar. I like watching movies...that’s about it.” “Where is your mom?”
Elena“Girl, why the hell wasn’t you picking up your phone!” Victoria waited for me in the driveway. I rushed out of the car and flew into her arms.“Did you get the memo? Did you know that Marvin of yours killed your dad’s partner—agent Maddens?”“H-he what?” I freaked out. Tori’s cruel way of speaking wasn’t that much of a help. I slowly put two and two together as I connected the missing puzzle piece to Marvin’s prison sentence. Did I really go to dinner with the killer of my dad’s best friend?“I—he—I didn’t know!” I hyperventilated. It was quite a surprise that I was able to drive
