Clutching her phone tightly, Mary spoke into it with a trembling voice.

"What did you just say, Mom? What happened to Dad?"

The voice on the other end was filled with urgency.

"I don't know, Mary. I just received a call that your dad was involved in an accident and was rushed to the hospital."

Mary felt the blood drain from her face.

"I just texted you the hospital address. Come quickly."
