Sophie added a final touch to Mayeli's makeup, focusing on the prominent eye bags.

“You look gorgeous”, Sophie complimented her effort with satisfaction.

“I always do”, Mayeli replied, rolling her eyes. She wore a white suit, white Zara heels and a matching white purse. Her hair was packed in a ponytail, and her makeup was perfect.

Today was the final trial for the rape victim she was defending, and the rapist's father had done everything in his power to stop her.

Mayeli had only one goal: win the case, and smile as she watched the rapist being thrown behind bars.

“Is Mama coming? I had better get dressed”, Sophie said, walking towards Mayeli's walk-in closet.

Sophie was staying with her for the time being. They had all been worried about Mayeli, so Sophie came over.

But Mayeli was over it, her depression. Her child was gone, and there was nothing she could do. She had a life to live now, and that was all that mattered. She was back to her job, and killing it already.
