AVA.
I got into my room, the one I shared with my two triplet sisters, Andrea and Aurelia, though we like to call her Alia. Coleen, my adoptive mother had beaten the hell out of me-again!I wiped the blood off my forehead, turning on the shower. I hope there's water today. The warm water washed my face and stopped the bleeding. The scars on my legs were already healed and I'm sure this one will heal in an hour or so… “You won't want to keep me waiting, bitch,” I heard Mrs.Kincaid's words.Getting up, I dusted my faded top before leaving the room. “I told you to scrub the floors. I don't want to see your blood on them.” She said. I hissed through my teeth, she was the one who caused the injuries but I dare not say that out loud. “I’ll do just that, ma.” I bowed before walking past her to the bathroom. She's in a good mood today. On other days, she will pull my hair back while I walk away.I collected a bucket from the bathroom and a brush. Then I went up to the attic where the wash materials were kept. I took out a pack of detergent and poured a considerable amount into the bucket.I looked at the box of gloves but shook away the thought. If Coleen catches me, I'll be dead. It's better to bear the pain than take her tortures once again. “Are you wasting time?” Coleen said and I looked up to see her locking the door and dropping the keys out of the window. I'm so dead…She held me by my hair slamming my skeleton of a body against the wall. “I was just...,”“Are you talking back at me?” She said with contempt in her eyes. She punched me square in the face. I winced at the pain, was she so heartless.I kept my mouth shut not wanting to beg her, that would give her the satisfaction she wanted... Never!!!– – – – – It was evening already and I was back from the diner where I worked as a waitress. “Ava?” I heard Andrea call, she was about to pass on her chores to me. “What did Coleen tell you to do this time?” I asked rolling my eyes at her as I jumped on the couch. “Just make dinner, not so bad since you are the only one that knows how to make her usual casserole dishes.” Andrea shrugs, going into our room and not waiting for my reply. I got up from the couch and took my smoothie out of the fridge. I never have enough protein so this is totally needed and it's sweet and sugary as well. When I was done drinking my smoothie, I went into the kitchen to begin cooking. No one bothered to learn how to cook Coleen's best dishes except me so I'm obliged to do so.I looked at the clock above my head, it was five pm and Coleen comes back from her place of work by eight or nine which means she'll have to heat up her food in the microwave. I placed the smoothie bottle on the countertop, hoping to have some time to myself before she comes back. Coleen Kincaid and her husband were our adoptive parents. They never treated us like their own children or adopted children even, we were treated like slaves, to do their bidding wherever and whenever they want it done. They managed to help us scale through high school and Alia went ahead to get a scholarship and study theatre arts in Yale. Andrea learnt coding from...God knows where and works with a company where she earns a few stipends to feed herself well. I just used my high school diploma to work as a shopping assistant in a mall on weekdays and at a diner, as a waitress in weekends.I got down from the high stool at the counter so I can take a look at the casserole which was in the oven. I know very well to watch it like a hawk unless I want my butt kicked by Coleen and her husband. Once it was cooked, I brought it out of the oven and went into my room to arrange the messed-up place that has not been cleaned in days. When I was done, I laid on my bed to sleep for some minutes but my sisters came bustling in excitedly. “Guess what, Ava?” I raised my brows up, surprised. Since when did they get this friendly. “Blurt it out already,” I replied in an unconcerned tone. “Be nice, girl!” Andrea said and I rolled my eyes. “We've found a way out of this place and the saviour is in our garden right now!” She said, happily looking at me with her glittering brown eyes. I squealed excitedly,“Can we go meet him...or her?” I asked unsure of what to call this 'saviour'. “You're right, it's a man and yes, we can meet him if you're not so busy tidying up.” Aurelia said looking around the changed room. “Just wanted to give Coleen a parting gift,” I grinned following Alia and Andrea out of the house. In seconds we were at Coleen's garden, with a handsome muscular guy standing by the lilies. “Good evening ladies!” He greeted, smiling to show his dimples. “He's our 'saviour'.” Andrea whispered in my ears excitedly. “You do know that we werewolves have sharp hearing abilities,” He said with a smirk. “Yes, girls. Use the mindlink,” Aurelia snapped. What's a mindlink? Did she expect us to know what it was? Well, I won't disgrace myself in front of the stranger. “Okay girls. I'm Alpha Gavin Stokes, alpha of the GreenValley pack,” He introduced himself curtly. “Umm... What's a pack?” Andrea asked shyly. “Don't be shy, I know you live among humans but a pack is where we werewolves live... just like a mini city.” He explained once more and I could see that Alia was getting impatient so I butted in. “Whats the plan?” I asked wearing a serious look. “A very simple one. We leave for my pack as soon as possible…” Alia didn't let him finish,“Like now?” She asked excitedly. “If it's fine with your sisters,” Alpha Gavin shrugged and Alia gave us a stern look. “Its fine!” I and Andrea chorused.“Aren't we going to pack?” I asked a bit surprised that they were in such a hurry. “Do you have anything to pack?” Alia scoffed and I shuffled my feet where I stood, it's not my fault I don't have presentable clothes.“Actually, yes. My scooter.” I countered sticking my tongue out at Alia. “Then get it, let's go!” Alpha Gavin said and I raced to the garage where I hid my bike.I brought it back and gave it to the alpha. He walked over to the garden gate and jumped over it, we followed him and saw that he had a 4Runner Jeep waiting for him.He tossed my back in the boot and motioned for us to get in the car. Time to get out of this hellhole of a home…AXEl.I arrived at the border of my pack after passing a shortcut. The Sin City. They were known for accepting all kinds of mammals in their city. Werewolves, vamps, humans.. You name it. One thing they repelled were the hybrids. Even though many species lived in the city, they were not allowed to mate with other species apart from theirs. ‘Where the fuck are you, Ivan?’ I asked through a mindlink. I don't have the key to my apartment as I gave them to him when we left for Green Valley. How does he expect me to come in? 'For someone who abandoned his pack, you are pretty bold.' He says. Groaning, I bang on the door to the pack house. Won't he show himself? “Hey! Don't break down that door.” Carlos says and I turn to look at him leaning against the pillar, blending with the shadows. No wonder I didn't see him there, the fucker was as smooth as silk. “I do just that if you don't open the damn door this minute.” I let out a menacing growl. He just walks to the door and opens i
AXEL.I sat at my desk in my room with my phone and a jotter trying to come up with a plan for the fuckers that want to wage war on the werewolf race. I haven't told anyone, not even Gavin because I don't need any help. I'm capable. I've been protecting the rogues all my life, on my own and this will not be an exception... I just need to find a strategy. Ivan called my yesterday and there was a wolf found dead with a letter in his hands. He was a warrior of our pack and was murdered during patrols that night. I told Ivan to send me the picture of this late warrior and the letter in his hands. I'm looking at the body and there’s something off about it... It looks alot as though the guy committed suicide. He had his eyes tightly shut and his fucking mouth was blown up. He was shot in the mouth or rather, someone shot him in the mouth. I'm not going to make any conclusions yet but a gun wasn't found at the scene. If he shot himself, his fucking soul didn't do away with the gun, did
AVA I woke up with a groan unhappy at the voice that woke me up... Andrea! I switched off my alarm yesterday because today is a Sunday but here she comes at seven, pulling my duvet away from my legs.“Can you have some decency to knock before coming in,” I hissed as I got up from my bed.“Gavin needs your attention in his office, now,” She said, turning on her heel to leave my room.“It's alpha to you.” I scoffed and waved her away. “I'll be down in half an hour.”I brushed my teeth, going into the shower and took my bath. After washing my hair, I wrapped a towel around myself and went over to my walk-in closet to choose clothes. The weather was cold so I wore a t shirt and tied my favourite blue cardigan around my waist as I was still warm from my bath. Wearing a pair of ripped jeans beneath the cardigan, I walked out of my room after looking the door. I had swapped the blush powder yesterday night while Andrea joined the Luna to watch a movie in the living room. Unexpectedly, it w
AXEL. I was still looking through the things in the delta apartment when a voice came in my head. ‘Can you pick me up from school today. Please?’ It was Andrea and in as much as I was still a tad bit angry at her, she was my mate and we had an agreement before now. I'm not going to break a promise because of a minor issue that we had this morning. I never break promises and I'm not going to break one now… ‘Okay.’ I said coldly, looking at my watch. It was already 3 PM and I know classes had ended thirty minutes earlier. She had probably debated on calling on me, for a long time. Dropping the stack of books I had been skimming through, I grab my jacket and head out of the apartment, making sure it was locked properly before leaving. I don't want anyone looking through my father's stuff. That made me think… was anyone allowed access into the apartment while I was away? If Gavin allowed that, then he didn't have an ounce of respect for my parents. I switched the ignition of the ca
AURELIAI'm in the kitchen, helping Aunty Kat prepare some dishes that she wants Granny Adeline to take with her as she leaves the house. Granny Ada hates Jake and the fact that I'm his girlfriend irks her so much that she wants to leave as soon as fucking possible. One thing the old hag doesn't know is that I don't give a flying fuck if she’s in the house or not. Maybe I do, because she has made my life a living hell. Alongside her goddamn grandson, Allen who doesn't have two brain cells to rub together. He uses any mistake I make to question my existence and he never fails to bring Jake into it. I wonder why Alpha Gavin had not looked into this because the bullying is getting out of hand. Maybe he is not aware that Allen had this amount of hatred for omegas, he thinks he is a good head warrior who is quiet and cold to everyone but he is actually a meanie and I'm growing to hate him! If I didnt know better that staying at the pack house is not an option, I’d have left the hou
ANDREA.I practically ran out of my class, the minute I heard the bell. Those were definitely the longest hours of my life and for the first time, I’m glad that we can have lunch breaks in the hostels. Leonie is a boarder so I can convince her to take me to her hostel for us to have our lunch. I want to get away from everyone and shy away from the annoying questions that they ask. Oh! There's another one…“Hey 'Drea. Did you find your mate?”The girl asked, trying to keep up a pace with me. “It's none of your business.” I snap at her. I'm not a rude person but they are getting very clingy and annoying. A little birdie probably circulated the news that I’m mated to an alpha and now, they want to hear from the horse's mouth. I won't give them that privilege though. The girl has shied away and I hear running footsteps behind me. The scent hits me before I even see her and I smile, standing for a while so she could catch up. “I can't believe our timetable. We don't even have classes f
