Mima's POV

He looked at me with hooded eyes. My mate… I had finally found my mate.

My mind was clouded with so many emotions, I felt goddy even though my body ached like was stabbed by a thousand needles and I had witnessed enough deaths to last a lifetime.

He stepped down from the podie that he was on and walked towards me. His face was voidnof any emotion so I couldn't pin his reaction to seeing me.

Who was he?

With his presence, the guards released me and stepped back.

Zahra, stood up watching the exchange between us.

He got really close and the guards bowed their heads. Was he someone of importance?

“Alpha.” The greeted and momentarily, I saw red.

“You… you are my mate.” He whispered. He seemed mesmerised by me being there. He stretched out his hand and stroked my cheek and I leaned in to his touch.

What the— I tried to pull away but I couldn't. My heart was filled with hatred for this man so why was I acting putty in his hands?

My wolf inside me was running around with happiness and no matter how many times I told her to settle down, she didn't.

I didn't want his filthy hands stained with the blood of my family and friends on me.

“Get your filthy hands away from me.” I finally got put, narrowing my eyes at him.

The whole clearing was silent and nobody made a sound.

He raised a brow and pulled his hand away. He took out a napkin from his pocket and wiped his hand clean like I was some filthy, disgusting animal.

“You cannot be my mate” his face twisted in disgust.

What the actual hell is he saying?

“You are a slave, I cannot be mated to a slave and a conquered pack. I am an Alpha, I deserve better than a weakling” he sneered.

“I don't want to be yours either. You killed my family.” I moved closer to him, attempting to claw his eyes back but the guards read my movements and held my hands back.

My body wanted to be as close to him as possible because of the stupid mate bond but I wanted to wipe that stupid smirk off his face with my fist.

“Well, would you look at that.” He chuckled darkly.

“This is unacceptable.” He took a step closer to me and leaned in.

“ I, Dylan, Alpha of the Blood stone pack, reject you, Mima as my mate given to me by the goddess”

The world felt like it had slowed around me, I could feel my wolf inside me moving into a corner in sadness, I could feel the bond breaking like fragile glass, I could feel my heart aching.

I felt like my heart was being torn apart. I crumpled to the ground and let out an ear splitting scream. It felt a whole lot worse than being suomped to death…

And I hated it.

My emotions of the bond slowly tearing me apart overtook the anger that I felt for him and against my greatest will, I felt emotions of sadness and dismay fill me.

“Take them back to the dungeon, this event is over” I heard him say as he walked away.

I was still screaming and shouting as I was dragged away by the guards. I could hear Zahra behind me telling me comforting words, trying to help me but it was all useless. My wolf didn't want to hear any of it.

My cell was open and I was tossed in it, while Zahra was put in the one opposite me. I laid on the cold hard floor, staring at the high window. I felt nothing.

I felt numb.

I couldn't feel my wolf.

I curled up into a ball and ignored every attempt Zahra made to talk to me.

Get up, Mima.

I whispered to myself but I underestimated the mate bond or the feelings of the lack of it thereof.

5 days had gone by. I could tell from the number of times the moon and sun had come up. The cells became emptier, day by day. Soon it was as silent as a church mouse.

I had gone days without food. The guards didn't serve us food or water. It was like they wanted us to die from starvation but I wouldn't give in, I don't want to die a miserable death. I will get out of here, I will live for my family.

For the first time in days, my cell door was opened and a guard walked in.

“Get up”

I didn't even bother to not try this time around. I stood up and looked him in the eyes.

“Keep your head down, you bitch. We are not the same” he hit me as he says this.

I don't reply but keep my head down as he chains me, the silver burning my skin.

He drags me out of the cell and I catch sight of Zahra seated in her cell opposite mine. She was so still that it looked like she had died. She looked up at me with fear in her eyes. She probably thought that I was being dragged to be killed too but I smiled at her.

“I'll be fine.” I muttered and she nodded.

As we progressed, I noticed that the other cells were empty… we were the only two left.

I choked down a sob at the realisation that Zahra and I were the last of the Red claws pack.

The guard led me to a big white building. The building was immaculate and exquisite from the outside. People stared at me as we walked by, the kids, their parents, even shop owners. Must be something to see a prisoner being dragged out to this kind of building, huh especially in rags like mine.

Inside the building is even more beautiful than the exterior. What a beautiful place for an ugly pack. I was led up stairs and finally we arrived in front of a big large white door. The guard knocked on the door three times, announcing our presence.

A dull ‘come in’ sounded from the other side of the door and we walked in.

I was staring at the decorations in the room when my eyes landed on my mate, well, my ex-mate.

He sat on the other side of the desk in all his authoritative glory. Beside him stood a tall blonde. She was slim with curves in the right places and her skin glowed in the sunlight. She just stared at me with no visible emotion on her face but I could see a glint of mockery and anger in her eyes.

“Alpha, I have brought the prisoner like you requested, sir. I shall now take my leave”

The guard informed the Alpha before unlocking my chains and taking them with him.

I stood there in silence as they both scrutinized me with their eyes raking all over my body.

“She will do just fine” I heard the Alpha say.

For what?

What did he mean by that?

“I have told you darling, I don't need another maid. Why can't you just kill her like the rest?” She said to the Alpha with her eyes on me staring at me with visible hatred. I still stand there in silence watching them go back and forth decoding my fate.

“No! My word is final and she will be your maid.”

Dylan said. His loud booming voice sounded across the whole room.

Maid?

He wants me to be a feeling maid to whoever that woman is. I would never in my entire life agree to being the maid of the man that destroyed me.

… I would rather die.

The lady stared wide eyed in shock before she regained her composure and nodded.

“Mima, this is Stephanie, my Luna. You will work for her and do as she says. From today, she is your master and you will serve her.”

“No” I siad loudly, enough for the both of them to hear.

“What did you just say?” Dylan's venomous voice said, staring up at me from his desk.

“I said no. I refuse to work as the maid of that woman or work as anything in this stupid and crazy pack of yours.” I spat at him.

“Oh really?” he stood up from his desk and I let out a gasp as in seconds, he was in front of me and my back was slammed into a wall.

I let out an audible gasp as my back throbbed.

He held on to my neck and I could see joy in his eyes at the position he had me in. He squeezed my neck and my hands flew to his, trying to pull his hands away from my neck.

“You are in my territory and you would do as I say. Got that?” He yelled in my face.

“No.” I said moving closer to his even though I could barely breathe.

He slammed me into the wall again and I yelled. He did it again and after doing it the third time, he removed his hand from my throat and let me fall to the floor.

“That should teach you not to go against me. Now you would serve as a maid and that is it “

“I would only do that if I get to dance on your filthy grave.” I retorted and I'm back to being slammed against the way.

My back was about to give out when I raised my knee and kneed him the balls.

He screamed and fell backa Nd I jumped on him, slashing his face with my claws that I had managed to bring out in time.

Blood streamed down his face and was about to throw a punch when I was pulled off him and the silver coated chains were placed on my wrists again.

Stephanie stood steps back, staring at me with anger in her eyes. She must have been the one to call the guards.

She ran to Dylan and tried to help him up but he just pushed her away and getting up himself.

“Since you would not listen willingly. Guess I'll have to force you.” He dragged me by the chains and upon all my protests, he turned a deaf ear.

He dragged me across the halls till we got to a room. He opened the doors and threw me in, slamming the door shut and locking it.

“You would as from today be a maid in the house. I don't care for your opinions or thoughts or refusal. You are my property. MINE. You have no right to have thoughts of your own.” He yelled from the other end of the door.

His retrwtajing footsteps were the last that I heard before I struggled to get up from the floor, the chains still stinging my hands either very move that I made.

Before he could strike again, the door burst open with a force that echoed through the room. Every head turned. Mima's POV I woke up with a start as I stood up from the bed. There was a beeping sound in the room and the walls and ceilings were white. I was confused about where I was but after looking down and seeing the numerous tubes attached to me, I remember that I was in the pack clinic.I had sweat gathered on my forehead from the nightmare I had. Seeing my brother die all over again. A tear slipped from my left eye and I raised my bandages hand to clean it. I looked down at myself and noticed that my clothes had been changed. My wounds were bandaged. Basically all of me was covered in bandages. Any small movement I made would make me wince. I was still observing my wounds when someone entered the room. It was a small lady in a white nurse gown. She must be here to check my health. She held a clipboard in her hand and asked how I was doing, giving me a small smile that didn't reach her eyes. She did all she came to do and left. The door opened seconds later and Martin wheeled himself in.

I finally got discharged from the pack clinic after four days and I went back to my normal life. Julia, the head maid, had been discharged a day before I was. My wounds were almost completely healed and I could move well without crutches. The scars were still there though and once in a while, I would feel aches and pains in my sides. After the night that Dylan came into my room, my wounds slowly started to heal by itself. My Wolf's presence even came out just a little. I could feel her. I wondered what motivated her to come out.I tried to not think that it was Dylan, because why would she come out for the one that rejected her? I sometimes spoke to her even though she never replied or gave me a sign that she was listening. I limped to my room when I felt my hair dragged and I almost fell backwards as I stumbled. I didn't need a soothsayer to tell me who I had just encountered. I turned around and there she was, Stephanie looking at me with red eyes, puffy eyes. She looked as if she

All I could hear was the only sound that mattered.. and it was the deafening silence in my heart.Mima.My fingers brushed her cold, lifeless face as I cradled her in my arms. Her skin was pale, the life that once burned so fiercely in her eyes now snuffed out. “Please…” I whispered, my voice barely a breath as I bent over her. “Please, Mima… don’t leave me. Not like this. Not after everything.”My wolf howled in agony, pressing against my chest as if it, too, could feel the emptiness inside of me. The loss. The endless ache. The weight of her death was too much to bear. My chest tightened, my lungs burning as I fought to hold onto the fragile hope that somehow, someway, she would open her eyes again. But as I sat there, helpless, holding her in the midst of the chaos, a sinking feeling

Stronger. It had been three weeks since training started, and a while since Rake and I mated and somehow everything was falling into a rhythm. The packs, once strangers and even enemies, had found a weird sort of harmony in blood and sweat.Kian had leveled up so fast it was almost scary. His elemental power had gone from flickering sparks to full-out flames, literal ones and his forcefield gets stronger as more impenetrable per day.At one point, he scorched the edge of the training field and Frederick nearly had a heart attack. Ria’s speed was unmatched, and she’d been training stealth maneuvers that left even seasoned warriors blinking in confusion. And me?I wasn’t just shooting fireballs anymore. I could shoot bigger ones and I could use my powers for a longer time without feeling tired easily.Rake noticed it first.“You’re glowing,” he said bluntly one night.I snorted. “What,
