Dale
Early morning they showered and dressed in a spare set of clothes. Then he allowed his wolf to come forward just enough so he could scent his mate with ease. The trail was fresh, but when they came to the door of the room, he knew without a shadow of a doubt that they were no longer in there.
They had somehow left the room before he and Grant had left theirs. So they went downstairs and asked the preppy young woman if she knew anything about their room number. She was very forthcoming with information when Grant smiled at her and told her the sob story that he was trying to find his sister.
She actually believed him and informed him that they had paid and left that morning, so waiting at the place would have been wasted effort. She did have some more information, telling them that the three had seemed friendly and unharmed, probably in an attempt to soothe Grant’s worry for his ‘sister’.
Then they ended
GemmaShe looked up at Charlie and realized the time had come to play open cards with them, especially if they had no intention of going their separate ways. So she took a deep breath and started with the sad story of her life, sometimes through tears and sometimes with anger for what the wolves had done to her. By the time she was done, Wade stared at her like she’d grown a second head and then gave a slow grin and Charlie chuckled.“Let me get this straight. You managed to create a coup on the pack without a single act of violence? This is priceless!” Charlie cooed with delight.Wade scratched behind his ear for a moment; it seemed to be his way of showing that he had something important on his mind. “A...Gem, you won and lost, there.” He finally grunted out.“What do you mean?” She asked with a frown of confusion.“The owner of the pack lands is the a
DaleRealizing that they would spend the entire morning negotiating with his small human that insisted on challenging everything he said, he decided to save them all the frustration. He was too tired, hungry and annoyed to attempt negotiations. Not to mention that they didn’t want to draw more attention than they already had, herding his human around the corner and into the alley beside the station.Pulling out his tranquilizer pistol, he loaded and shot her in the arm. They could have these discussions at the pack, where they had time and he had probably rested some to deal with her fighting everything. And perhaps they could have a little more privacy to discuss these matters where everyone was not involved. She glanced down at the dart and then glared at him, but he could already see the sedative set to work on her, despite her pulling the dart out. “Was that necessary…?” She slurred out a moment be
GemmaWhen she woke up again, she felt much better, aside from the fact that she had a headache and had to pee really urgently. Nonetheless, she sat up gingerly, unwilling to have the same happen as the last time she woke up.“Whoa, where do you think you’re going?” Grant spoke up from the chair next to the bed. He sounded sleepy and when she glanced at him she realized that he’d fallen asleep in the chair next to her bed.“I need to pee!” She squeaked urgently as she threw her legs over the side of the bed, only to find Grant standing ready to catch her. “I’m fine…” She retorted indignantly.“You forget I picked you up the last time you woke up. You scared the crap out of me.” He answered in a voice so sincere, she stopped and stared for a moment, but then remembered that she had to pee like yesterday. He caught her arm and guid
DaleHe’d spent the night at her bedside, sleeping with his head near her hand so he could breathe in her scent. He’d slept surprisingly well despite the creak in his neck the next morning, but she was still not awake and he had to get to work.Elder Stuart had him work with setting the pack to rights, since he was mated to the new Luna of the pack, so the transition of him taking over would be smooth. Well, it would be smooth around the pack; his mate was another matter altogether.Grant had told him that he would keep watch over her; personally he just thought the loafer wanted an hour or so of extra sleep. But he agreed, knowing that Grant would keep her safe. He went first to the apartment where his mate had slept before; he could only sleep when he immersed himself in her scent. So he’d moved his bag there and quickly took a shower and brushed his teeth. He had breakfast and checked that training was go
GemmaShe had just finished talking to her lawyer about confirming her survival and getting in touch with the commander to arrange a meeting to discuss the pack transfer, when Wade stepped out of the bathroom. He had clearly showered, but he still had the same clothes on, since they had not managed to get him another set of clothes. She had no idea what had become of their extra clothes and her handbag. She glanced him over where she sat in her office chair, narrowing her eyes with interest. Wade tilted his head at her with curiosity, his wild eyes seeming amused at her expression. “We need to fix this…” She muttered as she came to her feet, Charlie raising his eyebrow at her with his own attention, now that he had returned suspiciously fast from a hunt.“Whatever do you mean?” Charlie asked with curiosity.“He just took a shower and he had to dress in the same dirty clothes. DaleHis Gamma came in to report on the border patrol early morning, like he did every day after breakfast, but when Dale looked up at the man he trusted with border security he stopped short and stared for a moment. The man had had long luscious hair that most of the female warriors envied since he’d joined their ranks. But today…today he looked different. “What happened to your hair?” Dale asked in surprise. The man’s hair had been cut into a Mohawk and that Mohawk had been braided down to his back.“Our Luna helped with cutting hair yesterday, Sir. I think some of the men requested some assistance today as well.” Hank Reynolds answered with a barely contained grin.“So you let her cut your hair like that?” Dale asked dubiously. He couldn’t imagine Hank, who had always been possessive about his hair for as long as they’d known him allowing
GemmaBy the afternoon the two wolves that had come to ask if she would teach them how to cut hair were doing so well that she was sitting back with Charlie and Wade, watching them work. She was rather proud of them; they caught on so quickly, she was sure they would soon find themselves enough work that they could open their own little shop together.Once she was free of these wolves, she was considering doing the same, far away from any other wolves that might consider kidnapping her for their own gain once more. While she was watching the wolves cut hair, she noticed a luxury car roll calmly into the yard and stopping in front of the big house, which she had recently learned was the pack house.A well-dressed man stepped out of the driver’s side and buttoned the two buttons of his jacket as he glanced round with interest. Grant stepped out to meet him and they shook hands, but even from here, she could see their smiles were not sincer
GemmaHer nerves were on edge, so she went running again that next morning. It seemed it was not just her the Elders were going to talk about, but also Wade and Charlie. She was terrified for her friends and she needed to do something with all the nervous energy. So early morning, she stepped outside in her work-out clothes and found Charlie, Wade and Grant waiting for her at the front of the pack house. The commander soon showed up as well. She didn’t say anything as she started her run, mostly because her throat was constricted with worry. But soon she noticed something was odd and glanced around to find half the pack running behind her. What the hell was going on?Shaking her head to herself, she kept running, the commander had fallen into step beside her, but she studiously ignored him as she pushed herself to go that little bit further than she had the previous day. The running helped somewhat to soothe the ne
