Mag-log inLucien's POV
“What the hell is going on here?” I asked , my voice conveyed how fast my patience was drifting. I have the chance to avenge Trivia and I wasn't going to waste it, even if the culprit shared the same DNA with her. “Mummy, is this brother bothering you?” The little girl asked , her look for more intimidating by the second. Suddenly an image flashes in my head and I recall where I knew her from. The image was from a memory of playing hide and seek with the little girl in front of me. And that was over two decades ago. “Cut the crap, Suzie!” I growled angrily. I walked to Angelina's bedside because I already knew what her presence meant. Chase was in the building and I wasn't going to let anyone stand before me and my revenge. The blank face on Angelina was intoxicating. She was still keeping up with appearances even after realizing that she was busted. “You know who I am, brother?” She asked, advancing slowly. Her eyes glowing red and her aura getting despicable as she approached. Everything made sense, she was an alpha's daughter the last time we saw. I guessed her father had passed and she was the new head of their tribal pack. “I don't care. I recommend you leave this hospital and my pack before we make a scene,” I voiced clearly, my head held high as we locked gaze. “Enough,” Angelina disrupted the intensity. She got up from her bed and received new clothing from the man that had just stepped into the room. I recognized him also, he was an alpha. One from the north, brutal people that eat their own kind during winter. “Chase is here,” I muttered with a soft laugh. At that moment I had realized that we had been playing into their hands all along, doing what they wanted and expected from us and it didn't sit well with me. “I didn't mean for it to get here, Lucien,” Angelina said as she took off the hospital robes exposing her naked body. She walked to me, her eyes boring into mine expressing just how much she had gone. “If the bitch didn't step into the picture, all this won't have happened,” “Take me to Chase,” I demanded. The room was silent for a while as she wore the clothes. “Our father is busy,” Suzie replied with a cryptic smile. “He has some runaway pet to capture,” I instantly knew they were speaking of Brielle. My eyebrows cocked furiously and my hand moved on instinct. I grabbed Angelina by the neck and rammed her into a wall. “Come any closer!” I growled as Suzie and the alpha companion attempted to take me. “Just one inch and I will crush the wind pipe of the traitor that killed my mate,” “Lucien… you..shouldn't…” she rasped, barely audible as I crushed her wind pipe. “Give your next words meaning,” I grunted as my grip tightened. “My patience is running out,” “Well she can't speak. You are choking her to death,” Suzie said. I could hear her tiny feet drawing closer to me, taking cautionary steps. “You might be thirty years old in a kid's body but I am smarter,” I remarked and she stopped the move she was about to take. I took a long look at Angelina's red eyes as she suffocated. The gathering tears was a trigger to the already stirred anger. It reminded me of Trivia in her death bed. She wept because she didn't want to and she wouldn't have had to because it wasn't her time. “You killed your sister,” I muttered as I pressed further. The warm feeling of her larynx crushing on my hand was satisfying enough. Just when I thought I would end it all, a voice halted me. “Stop, Lucien. Keep your hands from her or I will eliminate every man, woman and child under this roof without blinking,” It wasn't just the voice that stunned me, it's scent as well. I could suddenly perceive all their scents including the ones that were mingled with the people around the hospital. “What do you want, Chase?” I asked, hesitating to do as he requested but I knew it was going to be futile. They were all alphas and I was alone, the casualties would be colossal. “Let her go,” He responded and I let go of Angelina who passed out on the floor. She wheezed and panted desperately, her vocal chord would be messed up but it was just an affliction that she could heal from. I could never hold Trivia again. “Why come here? What did you do to Zane?” “So many questions,” He retorted with a beaming smile. “Your brother's mind had been warped by Suzie,” “Yay!” Suzie cheered uncontrollably. I looked around the room of psychos with my heart racing furiously. “What are you talking about?” “He doesn't know what those orders are but when it's time, he will carry it out without hesitation,” Suzie spoke, her voice conveying how excited she was. “That's why the sedative didn't work, his subconscious knows and is scared,” I muttered to myself. A smile crept on my face as a thought came to mind. “That smile, I appreciate it,” Chase said as she advanced nearer. “I want you to be strong as I tear your life apart. As I strip you of everything you hold dear, as I break you,” His deep voice echoed as he gazed straight at me. I chuckled softly before responding “You can't win, Chase. I'm never going to be part of your puppets and that scared you,” “Scares me? No little Lucien, it's the most exciting feeling I have ever felt,” He spoke with intense joy. “I have never felt my heart race like this,” He added as he placed his hands over his chest. “Father wants you with us and you will be part of us. Either in pieces or by submission,” Suzie chipped in. “Where is Brielle?” I asked, advancing towards him like a bull ready to run down its target. “Easy!” He held me back, holding back a laughter that infuriated me even further. “My Luna awaits you in the spot you left her. I left behind a gift for her, one you will find…. rather excruciating to watch,” He replied with a wide grin that exposed all his dentals including his unnatural fang. I took one look at Angelina, who struggled to sit back against the wall and I knew I had a choice. It was either I take care of her at that moment and lose Brielle or walk away. “I will tear you apart,” I said to her before stepping out of the room. “It's always a pleasure, Son of Eclipse,” Chase’s voice thundered behind me as I walked away. I didn't look back, I kept walking to the visitors waiting room. I hurried there to see Brielle seated exactly where I left her with a man lying on her thighs. “Are you okay?” I asked, scurrying around for any sign of them. “I'm fine,” she breathed as she reached out to my hand. “Who is this?” I examined the man in tattered clothes. “This was fiance, Ken,” she answered as her fingers gently caressed his head. Something was different about her as she held him. She looked normal, almost happy and that didn't sit well with me.Epilogue Third Person's POV “How are you holding up?” Rio asked Brielle after the council of Alpha that was held in the Eclipse pack. Brielle decided not to attend the meeting because it felt like torture to be around people at the time. “Fine, everyday, a new process and new method of looking forward,” She responded with a smile. Rio's face was covered in slash scars that were still healing. “It's been weeks but I can still feel the tension,” he confessed as he laid his back against a post. “Crescent pack has begun a democratic form of leadership that will be overseen by Eclipse and the Blue Moon. As from now on, they will elect their own leaders,” “You know soon, this method will spread across other packs,” I pointed out. “Looking forward to it,” he replied with a grin. “It surely beats being born into a responsibility you didn't ask for,” “True,” Brielle reacted. “Everything is going fine, I'm free but yet I don't feel free,” He walked to her side and exhaled heavily. “
Brielle's POV“You think anger adds to strength, it doesn't,” Chase's wolf said. I was spooked when I heard it speak, it wasn't possible for a wolf to speak but I knew Chase wasn't a normal alpha like the rest. He had his paws in Lucien, crushing him to the floor. Rio and Zane were holding the rest of the alphas back and Angelina stood by the corner. She was the first one to notice me. “Why are you doing this?” I asked him. They were all shocked to see me on my feet. I held the dagger I had pulled out of my back and a sudden relief came over me. “Impossible,” Chase remarked. “You won't just die,” “No!” Angelina roared. Lucien transformed back and hurried to me. His body was scarred with claw marks and slashes. “How? Where? What's going on?” He was surprised to see me. His hands couldn't let go of mine as tears escaped his eyes. “I'm sorry, I should have protected you,” “I'm here now and we have a job to finish,” I said to him as I wiped his tears. “It's strange seeing you cry
Third Person's POV Everything felt cold, her mind sunk into the darkness and gradually got pulled into a strange void. An occurrence that caused her to gasp suddenly and jolt awake. Brielle woke up in a room, on a bed. She looked around in confusion and fright and realized it was her old room, the one back home in Crescent. She had almost forgotten how it was. “How?” She asked herself, looking around again curiously. She tried flashing back to what she remembered last but it felt blank to her. She remembered being stabbed by a lady called Angelina but it felt like a dream to her. “Sweetheart,” someone pushed open the room's door. She cowered backwards when he stepped in. It was like seeing a ghost and he was a ghost. “Brielle, are you okay? You seem frightened, honey? Is it the nightmares again?” “Dad,” she exhaled heavily, her heart thumping against her chest as she drew closer to her father. “How…how is this possible?” “How is what?” Her dad asked with a perplexed look. “I
Lucien's POV “You fight like a little boy,” Chase remarked as he crushed my windpipe with his boot. I was only able to take down two alphas before they brought me down. I could hear Rio grunting from a distance as he fought against the alpha from the north. The man fought like a beast, moved like a predator stalking its prey. He took Rio by surprise, faster than his size. “I never liked you, Lucien. I told your sister that you are nothing to me and she tried to make your existence somewhat meaningful,” He spoke with pride in his voice as he applied more force on the boot that was against my throat. “Y…you are going to die for that,” I wheezed. The air in my lungs slowly went out but I knew I had to keep fighting, I had to keep Brielle safe, I had to keep my brother safe. It was my responsibility. “I would love to s__” That was the point of his sentence that I heard. My eyes became instantly filled with a buzzing sound that disoriented my entire system. My hands shivered tremendo
Brielle's POV“Where are they?” I asked her. She stood still and slowly, the darkness around began to clear up. It was sucked into a vortex above. That was when I realized that I was in a room with chains and weapons around. “Brielle,* Zane called out behind me. I ran into his arms as he stood by the edge of the room with the Priestess. “How did you get in here?” The priestess asked. “She heard the voices,” Suzie responded as she gently changed into a new pair of shoes. “She could hear the voices of the damned. Maybe because she is part of the damned,” “What is she talking about?” I was curious to know. The look on the priestess face made it scarier to want to know. “Only few people are allowed to hear the other side, listen to what they say, the story they have to say. We call them Whisperers,” The priestess explained as she took a seat next to the fireplace. Her old raggy clothes couldn't hide the fear she felt. “Do you want to tell her?” Suzie referred to the Priestess. “D
Lucien's POV.“I need them here as soon as possible,” I said to the squad leader on the phone. “And General, stay safe,” “Brielle! Damn it!” Rio's voice caught my attention. It was coming from.the dining chambers. I hurried in to meet his hand on her, she was looking almost lifeless. “Rio!” I growled and pulled him away from her. “What the fuck did you do to her?” I held her hand and it was cold as ice. She was mumbling words that I couldn't understand, saying them on repeat as she was glued to the spot she stood. I couldn't move her, it was like moving an unmovable pillar. “She's sucked into wherever they are,” Rio replied as he examined her beside me. “I saw her got called by it. She was drawn to it, they wanted her in there,” “Who is they? You keep saying they, I didn't even know who THEY are,” I retorted. I was falling deeper into the confusion with each glance. I had no idea what to do because both my brother and the priestess that could help were both trapped in wherever
