Chapter 10

Tom's POV

"So what do you do for fun?" I asked Ava as we leisurely strolled through Central Park, surrounded by lush greenery. We were out on our fourth date that month just to spark rumours of us being together but we kept our identity a secret.

Ava turned to look at me, her brows raised, "Are you seriously asking me that?"

"Well, yeah. At least I should try and get to know you," I said and she scoffed, "You know, just in case someone asks me a question about you."

"If that is the case, just tell them anything," she said, looking down at her feet as we walked, "after all we are only going to be together for just two years."

"What if …" I started to say but I was cut off.

"Oh no, please no what ifs," she hissed, rolling her eyes.

"Do you hate me that much?" I blurted as I stopped dead in my tracks so I could look her in the face as she answered my question.

"Hate you? No, I don't hate you," she mumbled and I took a deep breath, "Hate is a strong word so let's just say I dislike you.
