The bright sun peeked into the room and onto Haven’s face. She opened her eyes slightly and looked around the room. She felt like she wasn’t familiar with this environment. She was quick to get up and take down her surrounding.

A sudden flash of yesterday night’s events came to her mind. For a moment, she thought she had a one night stand with the man with whom she had left the club.

But she was fully clothed. So that didn’t make sense to her. Why would anyone dress up the girl with whom he had a one night stand with?

She was trying to think of a sensible possibility, when the man from the previous night comes out of the bathroom, with just a towel draped around his torso.

Haven gasped, covering her mouth with her hands.

He smirked and walked into his closet.

“We didn’t have sex.” She heard him from the closet.

He comes out with his clothes in his hands.

“I thought you might want to know what didn’t happen last night,” he said, wearing his T-shirt.

“What happened last night?” she asked.

“Why don’t you try to remember it for yourself!” he continued to wear his clothes.

“The last time you said to me to try something myself, I was struck with a crazy woman.”

His lips twerked up, “Then you should have listened to me and stuck by my side.”

“Whatever!” she muttered and closed her eyes when she saw him throwing away the towel and wearing pants right in front of her.

“What were you doing in the club without a membership ID?” He buttoned and zipped his jeans.

“Um… me… I was..”

His smirk only grew larger. He sat next to her on the bed and removed her hands. He lifted her chin, making her look at him.

“Say it now.”

Haven didn’t know if she should or could tell him the actual reason for her adventurous visit to the BDSM club.

When she didn’t respond anything, he spoke, “Don’t worry about that asshole. You deserve better.”

“Huh? Who asshole?” she asked, confused by his words.

He just chuckled and said, “Try to remember yourself. And text or call me when you remember it.”

He got up from the bed and pulled his hoodie.

“My number is saved in your phone.”

“How did you unlock it?” Haven was sure her phone was locked and was safe with a password.

“I guessed it.”

He must be a genius, Haven thought to herself.

As if he was reading her mind, he said, “That. I am.”

Haven was still in shock. This man was really something else. He cracked her phone password and even read her mind.

“Get your ass out of the bed. I’ll drop you home. Unless you want to stay at my place and warm my bed until I come back.”

Haven shook her head and got up and straightened her dress. This man literally made a suggestive comment. But strangely that didn’t offend her.

They were in the car. The man drove and Haven was looking out of the window enjoying the fresh morning air and light music in the background which was coming from the music system.

He stopped the car right in front of her house and looked at Haven. She was lost in her own thoughts.

He cleared his throat which caught Haven’s attention. Then she notices they had reached her house.

“Thank you. I will call you as soon as I remember about last night.” She unbuckled her seatbelt.

“Yeah. I’ll be waiting. And your car is still in the club. I’ll swing by in the evening to drop it off here.” He gave her a warm smile.

As the car went far from her house, Haven is called her by her neighbor, Mrs. Morgan.

“Where had you been Haven?” she asked. Mrs. Morgan had been anxious all night. She didn’t know Haven’s whereabout. And she had called to check with Olivia. But it was no use. Neither did Olivia know about Haven’s whereabout. The phone call made Olivia anxious too. Haven wasn’t available through her phone. She didn’t notice her phone all night.

“Out with a friend,” Haven tried to brush it off.

“Who friend? I had called Olivia, but she didn’t know about you.”

“Someone from the office,” Haven lied. And felt bad for it too.

“Be careful Haven when you stay out at night. And inform me before you do so.” Mrs. Morgan did really worry about Haven. She is very close to Haven. She just couldn’t sleep well all night.

“I’m sorry for keeping you worrying. I will inform you next time.” She tried to patch things up.

With that, Haven and Mrs. Morgan parted ways to go to their respective homes.

Haven was in her bathroom. She had to go take a shower before heading to work. She was thankful and shocked to know she didn’t have a hangover. She usually gets it even with a few drinks. She wondered how was it possible to not get a hangover this time! It was as if she had taken precautions last night to not get a hangover.

Haven recounted her day from morning, as she shampooed her hair.

Suddenly, shock crept through her veins. She doesn’t remember telling the man her address, but he dropped her right in front of her house. Several thoughts crossed her mind at this moment. Even the possibility of the man being a stalker or a psychopath.

She immediately rinsed the shampoo and had a quick body wash and exited the bathroom.

She grabbed her phone to check his number. Damn! She didn’t even know his name. She went through her contacts list to find a new name.

There she found it. DOM.

She wondered what could Dom mean. And then realized Dom could be Dominant. Right, how else was he able to take her inside the club.

It still bothered her, how was he able to know her address. She thought if he went through her purse and checked her ID just like how he cracked her phone password to save his number.

With the thoughts running in her mind, she got ready and went to work. She took a cab and was successfully late for work. And had to face her seniors for being late.

At work, the first thing she faced was Olivia’s wrath. Haven knew her friend was worried about her.

“Relax, Olly. I only went to the club,” Haven tried to soothe her friend.

They were in the canteen. Standing in front of the coffee machine.

Haven grabbed two cups and handed one to Olivia. Olivia was still angry but took it and made up for now. But she didn’t fully believe Haven. How can she believe it, when she knows her friend very well. She can spot that Haven is lying.

Haven held the coffee cup to her mouth. The moments from last night crossed her mind. The memories of her chugging down the many drinks. And leaving the club with the man and what happened throughout the night.
