Andre's POV
"How dare you!" She moved towards me, her hand in the air, ready to attack. I clasped it tightly. "Let go of me!" She looked really mad, her face flamed up in anger and when I didn't release her, she retorted to doing something else. She stumped on my foot with her riding boot.
"Fuck!" I exclaimed, releasing her at one. She tried hitting me again and like the first time, I held her, both hands this time.
Pushing her back into a wall, I had her cornered. The adrenaline rush was leaving her system and she calmed down a bit. Her once-heavy breathing slowed. She looked like a dear caught in the headlight. I parted her legs, and one of my thighs lay in between before she got any idea like kicking me in the groin.
I stared at her for a while, her eyes closed and she controlled her breathing more. I finally got a close look at her features. Her eyes I once thought were black were a medium brown, like cinnamon. Her lips were craved to perfection with the bottom being fuller, taking a shade of pink. A cute, straight nose lay between both features. Her cheeks suddenly hit up and that's when it occurred to me that I was staring. She looked so uncomfortable and tried to break free but I wasn't having it.
"Are you calm now?"
"I'm coming for you, God, I hate you!" She spoke each word so calmly, that I wasn't sure if she was serious.
I smirked, "it doesn't matter though. At least I'll get to leave this world after tasting you. It would be worth it."
To put it lightly, she was enraged. She gave a battle cry and from nowhere, pushed me. I was caught off guard and stumbled back. She looked me dead in the eye and said. "You'll pay for this."

Catalina's POV
I paced around my office in a rage. I felt insulted and betrayed. Just when I was starting to let my guard down, he went and kissed me! I didn't know what to do but one thing was sure, he was going to pay for disrespecting me. I finally sat, thinking of a plot when my nanny walked in.
"Catalina, what's wrong dear?"
"It's nothing, Nana. I'm just frustrated, that's all." I stopped pacing and walked away from the door.
"I'm not blind, Cat," she called me out. "I may have taken care of you for only a short while but I know that look. Something is bothering you, child. Won't you tell me what's going on?"
"It's nothing, Nana." I couldn't possibly tell her what was going on. She would talk me out of taking my revenge. My pride hung every bit of itself on this revenge. It was the only thing I had left. The only thing that hadn't been taken away from me yet. Nana was a pure and old soul. She believed in the goodness of others and not taking revenge.
"Is it Andre?" She had this playful look going on.
"Who?" I questioned, confused.
"The boy you were in the stables with a while ago, his name is Andre. Your parents and his parents were friends. You two use to play a lot back then, that was until you left and decided not to come back." Her sad eyes bore into mine
"I saw what happened, whatever you are plotting, please think it through. I know that look you have on. It's one where you are about to make a decision you know is wrong but will go through with it anyway. When will you change Cat?" I wasn't liking where the conversation was heading so I gave a lame excuse. "I'm working, can we do this some other time." She gave me a disapproving gaze, shook her head, and left.
I rearranged my thoughts, pushing Nana's warning to the back of my head. Nothing could go wrong, I had to show him who was boss.

"Catalina!" A husky voice yelled. All heads turned to the source. It was Andre."Why did you do it?" I was startled by how close he was. He pulled me out of my seat, my wrist enclosed in his hand.
"You knew how much those cattle meant to me and you still went ahead and bought them." He gave a pained laugh. "Heck, you don't even need them. You have more than enough already so why did you buy them? To spike me?" He asked rhetorically.
"Why are you doing this?" He walked closer, his gaze fell on my lips. "Because of a stolen kiss?" He gulped as his eyes turned cloudy like he relived the memory. "If you hate it so much, I could return it." He dipped his head, aiming for my lips when a loud sound resonated. I slapped him, causing his head to turn from the impact. The hall fell ghost-quiet.
The slap had both of us stunned. His face was reddening, I was sure it would leave a mark. I was regretting my decision when he turned to face me. His eyes which always seemed so playful darkened and I stepped back. He took the initiative and stepped closer. I was about to open my mouth to apologize, he forced me to the ground. I fell to my knees as he held my hand tightly. I tried freeing it with the other but it ended with him tightening his hold. I whimpered, already feeling the loss of blood supply from how hard he held me.
"Beg!" My eyes involuntarily widened. He looked dead serious from how hard his eyes were. His jaw was locked together. He looked like he was holding himself back
"Never!" I replied and spat in his face.
His eyes closed and took a deep breath, he opened them and did what I thought wasn't possible. He tightened his hold, even more, and my palm turned pale. I gasped, holding on to a whitish palm.
"Let go! You are hurting me." His hand left my wrist like he was burned. He looked around and watched as all eyes fell on him, each page of eyes holding different emotions from the next.
I stood up immediately and his eyes came back to mine. They looked hurt and disappointment seemed to settle deep in them. I watched as he walked away, all eyes still fixed on him as he kept us in a trance.
He soon walked out the door and that's when the whispering began. I was in the middle of a meeting when he waltzed in like he owned the place. There and then, I knew the meeting couldn't continue after all that drama.
"You are all so useless! You saw how he had me pinned to the ground and yet none of you tried to lift a finger. I should have you all fired!" Fury ran through my veins like hot lava.
I trashed the meeting, tearing up all the files and kicking the tables to the ground. I let out a pained scream. My blood was pumping, I was thirsty for revenge once more. He pushed me to the wall this time, humiliating me in front of my workers. I felt powerless and I never wanted to go through that again.
"Reschedule this meeting!" I shrieked at them and left.
Catalina's POV"Catalina! Guess who's here?!" Nana's voice rang through my room."Not now Nana," I said, pulling my sheets closer to me. I was still recovering from the humiliation I faced. I wasn't ready to meet the outside world yet but Nana wasn't having it. She opened my curtains, daylight streamed in and I quickly covered my face with the duvet.Nana walked around the room, placing stuff back in place. "It's your aunt and cousin. They are here to see you!" I sighed. "Have them wait for me, I'm not ready to see anyone yet.""Child, that's your aunt. She took care of you. She missed you so she came to see you. I can only imagine how worried she was for her to come all this way."I groaned. "I said I don't want to see anyone. Take them to their rooms or whatever. I'll go see them later." I waved her off, my face still under my sheets."Do whatever you want child. Just don't come crying to me when the regret sets in."I heard laughter a few minutes later. They were happy while I was
Catalina's POVA knock on my door pulled me out of my trance and I turned my gaze to the door. A worried Gilberto walked in. "Boss, I heard what happened. How I wish I had been here. That boy wouldn't have been able to lay a hand on you!" He was fuming as he walked quickly to my desk."It's fine Gilberto, you had to work," I astutely stated, picking up some paper works that had been calling for my attention."Elonzo and those good-for-nothings didn't do anything. I can punish them if you'd like Boss." He suggested with a hopeful gaze. I knew he liked violence but there'd be none on the ranch, at least not while I was here. "I said it's fine. I'll deal with it." My tone was firm"Okay, Boss." "And Gilberto," I called out, not looking at him once."The incident with the fire doesn't happen again," I warned, flipping the pages. Burning his house wasn't the punishment asked I for but Gilberto went ahead anyways."Yes, Boss. I promise it won't happen again."He was about to leave when he
Catalina's POV"You fool, how could you be so careless." I was by his side in an instant, helping him sit up with his back resting on the wall. It looked bad, the wound was slowly bleeding out and I could tell the venom was starting to spread as the veins around it blackened. He stopped moving around and sat still as he stared."Are you yelling at me?! At a time like this? I could be dying." He said in disbelief as he clutched his leg in pain. He winced and gasped. A hand ran through my hair as I felt helpless. A snake bite wasn't a part of the plan."You saw the snake, what type was it?" I asked. This earned me a thoughtful look from him before he gave up."I don't know, I didn't get a good look at it but the snakes found in these parts are poisonous." He was talking between breaths while I stood, torn and having a dilemma in my head."I don't know what to do! What do I do?" I ran a hand through my hair, I felt helpless and confused. I began biting my lips, an old habit of mine."Sta
Andre's POV"What?"She rolled her eyes. "To show my deepest apologies, I'll be helping you with reviving your ranch. Just tell me what you need help with." Her words came out like it was definite and I had no choice.I stared at the lady in front of me. She was different from the woman I met back then. Still cold but crazy has been added to the list. There's no way she expected me to take her up on her offer. "What are you apologizing for? You didn't do anything."An eye roll was what I got in response. "I didn't but I have come to realize I've not been civil and I'll like to make up for it." My gaze intensified on her features but her confidence didn't waver."It's good that you want to make amends but I think fixing the fence will be enough."She wasn't having it, she let out a heavy breath in frustration. "I don't think you understand. I want to help you. I don't know why you'd be bothered about that ranch but it must mean something to you if you aren't going to sell and I'll like
Andre's POV"From your tone and expression, I guess that's a bad thing?" It was meant to be a statement but it came out as a question."My mom is going to kill me! I can't be pregnant. I don't have a husband or a job, I could never raise a child on my own." She dropped to the foot of my bed, the test results tightly squeezed in her hand. I didn't know what to say so I just let her rant on. "My dad walked out on us when he found out my mom was pregnant with me and I vowed never to let that happen to me and now look! I'm screwed." She said as she held her head tightly, her finger digging deep into her scalp. She had gone quiet suddenly in the poorly lit room. A poorly lit lamp was at the far end of the room so I couldn't see her face but loud sobs soon filled the room and her body shook with each one. I move with hesitation over to her to comfort her. My arms awkwardly laid on her shoulders and just when I was about to utter a word, she hugged me tightly. I was beyond stunned. We were s
Catalina's POV"How was your talk with Andres?" I nearly jumped out of my skin. Nana stood by the stairs with a cleaning brush in her hand. She was humming a tune as she cleaned the railings.I sighed, walking closer to her as my hands stayed on my hips. "Not good. He turned me down." "Well, you can't blame him." She shrugged, returning to her cleaning."What do you mean? You wouldn't trust me if I offered you a hand?" Shock was written on my face as Nana laughed."I would because I know you and I trust you but he doesn't and you haven't done anything to make him think otherwise." She was right but that didn't make it hurt any less. Right there, Mariana walked in with distress written all over her face. The color drained off her and she just looked worried. Walking right passed me, she aimed for the stairs. Her usual made-up face was swollen with dried tears all over. Her brunette hair which was perfectly straightened earlier stuck out in all directions."What's wrong Mariana?" Nana
Andre's POVI was discharged the next day with strict orders from Marcario to take care of myself. Catalina picked me and we shared an awkward silence on the way home. The silence was so intense I glanced at her a few times to check if she felt it too. She didn't give off any emotions and just paid attention to her driving. I gave up a few minutes into the ride and made conversation. "The weather seems nice."While waiting for her response, all I got was a side glance. I was going to say something when she said, "it's nice, the sun is out. It would be good for a picnic." I didn't know what to reply to that so I just nodded. We spent a few minutes in another yet awkward silence."So how was your night?"She was talking to me without me starting it first. This was new, and I liked it. "It was good, I slept well even with a blaring alarm in the room."She turned to me, confusion written all over her face. "What?""Marcario snores," I replied with a knowing look"Right, you mentioned it l
Andre's POVAs I expected, Catalina was right on time. She caught me off-guard as I was in the shower and Felipe let her into my room. She stopped by to check the progress of the work that hadn't even started yet."They aren't here yet?" She said, referring to the construction workers. She looked through the foggy glass in the bathroom, her eyes ran frantically, searching for me."No, they aren't. It's still early, they should be here soon. Please leave now," I said in one breathe as I tried controlling my thoughts. Showering soon became the farthest thing on my mind."I wasn't planning on staying, don't kid yourself." She turned, now facing my bedroom door. I took the opportunity to grab a towel, wrapping it around my waist and then I stepped out.Noticing how quiet the room had gotten, she turned to me. "Aren't you going to get dressed? You don't plan on going out like that, do you?" She said as her eyes gave me a look over.I smirked, taking a step closer. "Does it bother you?" Thi
