Chapter 25

We flew to the castle. But the closer we got, the darker it was. Trees were quickly losing leaves but it was the wrong season for that. The air was cold.

“The keeper is drawing life out of everything within its reach. It has an unending hunger. The devastation will reach the next village by night fall if we don’t stop it now.” Saple rumbled.

I didn’t need a reminder of how scary this was and knowledge like that didn’t seem helpful. But it came from my own dragon! I admired the wisdom that was now available to me and am grateful for the wonderful company.
