(Willow's POV)
After a lot of thinking and consideration, I avoided my mum. I couldn't bring myself to look at her even after so many apologies and ways to get me to talk to her.
I sat by the river imagining what my life would be like after this. I've made my decision and there's no going back.
"Finally" I heard his voice. Do I really want this? Am I ready? Well, I perfectly know the answers I needed.
"Jordan right?" I turned to him. It took me a week to make this decision and I know he waited.
"I guess she told you everything?" He walked past me. "She still remembers me"
"My mum is the last person I want to talk about. She's in my past, I don't wanna hear or see her ever again" I breathed. "I'm ready to accept my identity, that's who I wanna be" I simply said to him because the sooner the better. I saw him smile. "What's amusing?"
"The fact that you think it's that easy. You don't have a single idea how or what being a wolf is" He rolled his eyes.
"Then teach me" I commanded. He quickly moved closer to me.
"You don't tell me what to do" he said angrily.
"And what's up with your temper? Did I say anything wrong? Okay please Jordan, teach me" I said to him looking straight into his eyes.
He placed a hand on my shoulders and pressed me down so I was on the same level as his chest instead.
"Ouch" I cried.
"Next time you talk to me, never look me in the eyes and don't you dare stand up to me" he pushed me to the grass.
What an asshole.
I quickly stood up.
"Will you teach me?" I asked. He stared at the water.
"You'll have to do everything I say, with no question" he suddenly said.
"Yes, I will" I eagerly nodded. I'm beginning to like this.
"Take off the necklace" he commanded.
"But...I promised…"
"I'm leaving" He started walking away.
"Wait! Wait! I'm taking it off" I followed him.
"The next time you complain, you'll never see me again" he turned to me. He watched me take it off and that was it.
"What next? Do I get to meet the pack? What section will I be appointed to? And the alpha? I want to meet the luna!" I was already excited and a strange heat building inside of me.
"Calm down, horsie! You're not part of the pack, yet. I need to know if you can be one of us, if I can trust you. Then I'll take you to the pack house. But firstly, you need to learn how to shift" he said but I immediately felt weak at the knees.
What is happening to me? Why all this pain and heat? I felt like I was being massaged by the sun.
"Argh!" I laid on my stomach. "Goddamn!" I looked at him with tears in my eyes. "What is happening?" I cried holding my stomach. I felt like my skin was ripped in chunks, slowly.
"This is what happens when you tame your wolf. It is desperate to be free. So free it" He sternly said to me.
"How!?" I shouted and some of the birds on the nearby trees flew away.
"Let go! Stop holding back!" He commanded.
"How!" I shouted again. He sighed kneeling beside me.
"Stop fighting the pain, accept it" he said again.
"I...can't! Necklace please" I begged him. "Argh! Ouch!" I sobbed.
"No! You need to accept your wolf Willow" he calmly said.
"No! Ugh! Please Jordan!" I held him by the collar.
He pushed me off him and picked my necklace from the grass placing it around my neck which calmed me down immediately.
"Thank you" I breathed laying on my back.
"For what exactly? You are such a coward" he stood up. "I'm leaving"
"Wait!" I tried to stand up but I felt so weak.
"Meet me back here the same time tomorrow" he said, disappearing into the woods. I would have followed him secretly of course and found out where he lives if not for the excruciating pain in my joints.
"That will be fine" I sipped the coffee Iris served me in her room. We now share the same bed. I don't know how I went from hating this place to living with my new best friend.
"You mostly eat meat, don't you want something leafy!? Maybe a salad?" Iris frowned her face when I emptied the fourth plate of breast wings.
"Salad? I don't think I'll be satisfied. Do you have beef?" I asked. My sudden uncontrollable hunger for meat is clear to me now but there's no way I could tell her.
"No"
"I have to leave, I have a very important thing to take care of" I said, wearing my hoodie.
"What about the job you got?" She asked.
"Right now, that's the last thing I want to talk about" I shrugged. "I called and told them I don't want the job. Right now, I'm not in the state of working. I can't even think right and I have a lot on my plate"
"What about your mother? She was here yesterday and today too"
"Oh please Iris! Tell her I'm okay" I turned to her.
I hated the fact that I'm making my mum suffer but I can't bring myself to forgive her for lying to me and trying to deny me my identity.
How long did she think she could hide it? If she never wanted me to find out, why did she bring me back into their territory?
"Where are you going? And where did you go yesterday?" She suddenly looked excited.
"Um, nowhere mummy. I just want a fresh breeze" I smiled.
"Have you seen the boy next door? He is such a cutie" she giggled.
I couldn't believe she thinks I'm going out to see a guy.
"No, not interested" I said. Maybe because I got my eyes on someone else. I smiled.
"Who is he?" She rushed to me holding my hand.
"Who!?"
"The guy you just thought about with a smile" she grinned. I pushed her off.
"I have to go" I ran out.
Locating the river was now easy because I'm already acquainted with the place.
The river is my happy place and this attraction I have towards Jordan is unexpected but yet magical. I'm not the type to have high school crushes or fall in love with the cute boy next door but Jordan is one of those things I have to figure out.
What if he already has a girlfriend?
What exactly are you saying Willow? You don't even like him, you just admire him and I'm sure you'll get over him just like the rest.
The last time I was with Jordan, I felt a sudden pull towards him. I can't explain it but it felt good for the second it lasted. He looks like someone that can never be romantic but I'm sure he has a soft spot somewhere.
This is not what I should be thinking of, I know. And what did he mean by accepting the pain?
I never want to feel what I felt yesterday. I just want to shift just like in the movies and see what I look like.
What color of wolf would I be? Honestly, I can't wait because I feel like I'm in a dream I don't want to wake up from.
Who wouldn't want to be a werewolf?
Jordan was nowhere to be found as I looked around.
I sat by the river for almost an hour before he showed up.
"You're late" I heard his voice. I stood to my feet.
"Me? You're late, not me" I frowned.
"If you'd come here earlier, you'd have met me" He said indifferently.
"But I've been waiting!" I argued.
"If I say you're late, then you're late" He said.
"Why are you so damn arrogant?" I asked.
"I'm used to doing what I want" he folded his hands.
"But I am not good at taking orders" I folded mine.
"And I'm good at making people do what I want. I always get what I want. Are you ready?" He stretched out his hand to me. I placed the necklace in his palm.
"Don't hold back, you have to accept your wolf. That means you'll have to feel every ounce of the pain or this won't work and you'll hurt yourself. This should have happened a long time ago, that's why you're having a hard time" he sighed.
Is he complaining?
"You think I don't know? And this isn't easy you know" I want to get this over and done with. "Do you know the excruciating pain I feel?" I groveled.
"I do, do you think I magically woke up a wolf? Everything in life has a process" he knelt beside me.
"Then help me not make me feel worse"
"What do you want me to do? Share the pain with you?" He scoffed.
"You're unbelievable Jordan!"
"C'mon, you need to tap into your wolf. It wants to be free!" He was impatient!? Can't he be at least sympathetic for once? He has to be the worst person on this earth because what the fuck!? Can't he see I'm suffering?
"Here goes"
(Willow's POV)It wasn't anything like what I watched in the movies. All my life, I thought shifting was just like magic. That's what they made us believe but the pain is absolutely unbearable. Like my soul was ripped out of my body. But I still wasn't able to shift.Jordan looked down on me pathetically and after an ear full of my pleas, he gave me back the necklace. He left angry and I knew it. He is an ass but I felt like I failed him.No matter how hard I try, I can't shift.I parked my car in the driveway and walked into my house. My mother was sipping coffee and was lost in her thoughts."Sweetie!" She gave me a huge hug."I'm only here to ask about my father and the necessary information I need because I'm still not able to shift," I stated."I have little knowledge about shifting sweetheart. How can I possibly know how it's done? Maybe a little patience" She smiled."I took off the necklace, but nothing happened. I thought I'll be able to shift immediately. Jordan tried his be
(Willow's POV) No matter how hard I tried to look for Jordan, I never succeeded. Nobody seemed to know him at all and it became frustrating. Two weeks and I heard nothing from him. I tried to take his advice and move on, get a job but I couldn't bring myself to do it. All I wanted was to be with my kind and it wasn't fair that he is depriving me a chance. I tried to do it myself but I almost died yesterday. It was harder considering the fact that I have no one. I can't even open up to my new best friend and it is killing me. I felt anger. I felt disappointed. If I can't go to Jordan, maybe he will come to me. The last time I shouted his name, he appeared. But I have tried that already. I went to the river eight times just to shout his name but he never came. I even looked deep in the woods but nothing! The only difference was that I was in danger and it was dark. Just maybe, if I scream for help in the woods at night, he might show up. But what if I get into real trouble?
(Willow's POV) I felt his eyes as they bore into my skin. I quickly sat up and hugged my knees to cover my breasts. Why won't the earth open and swallow me? I wished I could disappear. I didn't dare look up because I was pink with embarrassment. What is going through his head? Is he looking at me or looking away like the gentleman he is supposed to be? I gathered enough courage to look up and he was staring right at me. My heart jumped to the pit of my stomach. He didn't say anything and we just locked eyes. I couldn't read his eyes. "Have the decency to look away" I glared at him. "Nothing I haven't seen before" He casually said. Was he for real? "I can't go home like this" I tried to shield myself with my hands but it was useless. "Get up" He ordered. I blinked and waited for him to make sense but he just stared back. "W...why?" I stammered. "I can't go home like this, '' I repeated. "Okay then. I guess you'll be spending the night here. I'm leaving" He took a few s
He looked out the French windows with a pen clicking in between his fingers. His current investigation failed and he is stuck. Regardless of how hard he tries, it always leads to a dead end. "Jordan" A man with brown eyes walked in. "What's new?" Jordan swirled his chair to face his beta and friend. "We have nothing" The man replied with a slight bow of his head. "And Willow?" "She is at the river, as usual" "You left her alone? You know she should never be alone" Jordan stood up. He knew he couldn't trust Willow to be on her own. It's either she seeks for trouble or trouble seems to find her so he had to keep a close eye on her. "Don't you think you should bring her here? She is a werewolf" Japh said. "She doesn't belong here. Not every werewolf stays with its pack. Do you know how many wolves choose humanity over their wolf?" "But she wants to be here, that's the difference!" Japh exclaimed. "I know what's best for her because she doesn't know it," Jordan replied. "A
Willow couldn't tell what was happening because she was blinded by tears and speechless with fright. Two of the men shifted but Jordan didn't.One moment she was crying in a corner, the next moment, Jordan and a brown wolf bashed in tossing and stabbing the three drunks who tried to rape her.Jordan looked straight at her. His eyes filled with anger as blood dripped down his hands. As much as she was glad that he saved her, she dreaded going close to him. Something wadded her off but she still found herself wrapping her two shaking hands around him.Japh shifted and put on some of the clothes he found in the cabin. He gave Jordan a cloth to clean his hands. She quietly cried on his chest and for a moment, he let her until he painfully grabbed her arm."I regret ever looking for you" Jordan growled and dragged her out. Japh cautiously followed them."I just wanted to…""You didn't have to do anything!" He let her go with a slight push. "You are a problem!""We need to keep moving guys"
Willow stared at Jordan. He just stood at the door. No expression and no movement. His eyes shifted to her body and back to her face again. Willow cursed herself for wearing his shirt. "Hey Willow" Japh walked into the house. "I'm Japh. Jordan's beta. I couldn't introduce myself earlier due to…" "I understand" She finally took her eyes off Jordan and followed the other man in. "Are you alone?" He hardly looked around. "Yes. Um...They are all out" She said, trying so hard not to look back at Jordan. "How are you?" Japh asked. Willow smiled when she saw the genuine concern in his eyes. She wished Jordan was more like Japh. "I'm good" She said and watched Jordan from the corner of her eyes. He finally walked in but moved as far from the both of them as possible. "Well if you need anything, let me know. I want to help in anyway" Japh slightly tapped her on the shoulder. "Thank you Japh…" "You are coming with us to the pack house. You need to inform your mother right now" Jor
Willow looked around the room.It was bigger than Iris's room and it looked okay to her. Everything was set and neat. The room consists of a bed, side table and a comfy looking wingback chair. The bathroom was connected to a walk in closet and the bathroom windows overlooked a beautiful view of wherever she was.At some point, she thought she'll be living in the woods and eating fresh meat but this is completely comfortable and perfect, too perfect!"Until you receive instructions, don't leave your room. Here's your key" Star said with a straight face and tossed the key at her."Thanks" Willow caught it. "And thanks for showing…" The door slammed shut. "... me around"Willow threw herself in the bed and wondered if everyone's room was nice like hers. This is a new beginning for her. She quietly vowed to do her best and make herself proud."Most especially Jordan"Willow jumped when she heard the voice again."Who are you?" Willow looked around. What is following her? Is she talking to
Jordan and Star chased after the wolves who took Willow. There was nowhere to escape so they were captured and Jordan didn't waste time sinking his teeth into their throats when they refused to provide important information during the interrogation. "I told you to triple your defense! We cannot have them attacking us anytime they want!" Jordan furiously said to Star. "I'm sorry" "I don't want your apology! I want you to do as I say" He walked to the window and watched some wolves clean up the blood on the training grounds. "Star did triple the defense. I think their strategy is to keep attacking until we are weak" Japh said. "If you are so good at strategies, why don't you put that to use and prevent this from happening?" He took a deep breath. "We have pups here. Nothing can happen to them!" He turned to Japh. "Take the pups to Woodville. They are better off staying there. This place is no longer safe for them. Whoever is attacking us is mainly focused on Willow. Star, nothing s
