Zara got out of the bathroom and called Mariah…no response, nothing.

She looked at her bed, the pillow was slightly flat on one side like someone had been sitting on it recently. The lamp was still on.

“Mariah?”

Zara checked the kitchen, it was empty, she went outside to check but Mariah's usual spot was empty.

Zara stood in the middle of the small apartment, confused, her eyebrows drawn into a frown.

She slowly looked around the apartment, then she realized Mariah’s jacket she hung by the door
