CHAPTER SEVEN

Feeling a weight on her belly, Hannah groaned and woke up. The room was still dark inside and also outside when she glanced at the window. Carefully, she moved Astrrid’s hand away from her body. Hannah moved slowly from the room, not wanting to wake Astrrid.

After she got her coat, she went downstairs to get herself a glass of water. Most of the lights were turned off as she passed through the hallway. The light coming from the full moon helps Hannah see clearly. When she reached for the modern kitchen, she opened the fridge to get water when she saw a silhouette near the kitchen window.

“Oh God.” Hannah clutched her hand to her heart when it was beating so hard because of the shock. After taking a breath, she fully faced the intruder.

“Oh.” She muttered, realizing who was behind it. Unable to think of what to do, she just jugged the water bottle and left it on the sink, wanting to exit immediately. However, before she could entirely leave the kitchen, he spoke.

“Can’t sleep?”
