ODEYA

It had been two days since I went back to the forest; I had missed training all because of a boy that doesn't care about me. Sighs, I had two hours of prepping myself before packing my bags with water, energy drinks, and some vitamins like I always did.

“Darling, grab some spinach on your way back. I'll be using them for dinner.” Mom peered from the kitchen as I ran down the stairs.

“Okay, Mom. Love you!” I responded, running out the door. I heard her respond to me as I reached the porch.

Getting on my bike, I started riding to my favorite spot in the world. Soon, I reached and chained my bike like I always did before going to the clearing I train at. However, as I reached, I saw someone sitting on the floor and resting his back against a huge tree with his eyes closed.

He was wearing black jeans and a black shirt again. He looked calm with his eyes closed, I wished he could always be calm like this. Remembering how he had raised his voice at me, I hardened my face and looked away; going to drop my things at the other large tree in the clearing.

“Why are you here?” I asked, my voice cold.

“Finally!” I heard him sigh in relief and hear him stand before walking toward me.

“You should go, I found this place first.” I kept my eyes focused on my bag as I unpacked. I could feel him behind me, he had neared me already.

“Technically, I found this place first. I knew the first day you came here and I saw your train all by yourself. Don't worry, I didn't tell my dad or anyone,” I heard him say behind me. I was stunned, he didn't tell on me? Wow, I thought Herald was really as mean as his father. I turned to him, anger bubbling in me.

“Then why did you yell at me the other day? I was here waiting for you to come. I even stayed longer than I usually do just because I wanted to see you; to talk to you...” I paused and looked at him when I realized I had said too much. However, Herald seemed to enjoy my confession as he smirked, showing off his dimples.

My cheeks turned red from embarrassment and I turned away from him.

“I missed you too, I have been coming here for two days now, just to see you again. Watching you train became a habit that I can't even do without now. That particular day I had been offended by my dad, he said shit about me not being a potential Alpha because I am not as wicked as he is...” He paused, breathing in and then I turned to him.

I saw that he was offended by whatever his father must have told him, there were raw emotions in his eyes. That got to me.

“It is not an excuse to yell at you, I am sorry. That will be the first and the last.” He looked into my eyes and smiled before spreading his arms.

I was reluctant to go into them because this version of Herald wasn't the version I was told. Hence I was scared this version would fade away very soon.

Suddenly, I felt him freeze against my body. This made me disengage from him and for the first time, I saw Herald tremble, terrifyingly. He was staring at something hence I trailed his gaze and saw that he was looking at a rope that had fallen off my bag.

Is he scared of ropes? I wondered, watching him gag in fear.

“The rope?” I asked, and to my surprise, he nodded.

Without asking any further questions, I reached for the rope and hid it back in my back. Turning back around, Herald had fallen to the floor and pulled his knees to his chest, while still trembling.

“It's gone, no ropes!” I told him, moving closer.

I took his hands in mine gently, trying to comfort him. Herald turned to me, his face filled with trepidation.

“No ropes, Huh? No ropes?” Herald looked really terrified and it scared me, I felt bad for him and just pulled him in a hug without saying anything.

“I will protect you from ropes every day, Herald,” I whispered but loud enough for him to hear.

Herald and I became friends that day. He came and trained me every day and I got better with my sword and left hand. Herald even gave me a special silver sword, he said it belonged to him and he wanted me to have a special part of him.

We weren't dating because he didn't ask me out and I didn't want him to. We are werewolves whose partners had been decided by the moon goddess. Who knows we might not be destined for each other. Also, Mom and Dad had warned me never to be in a relationship with a man that wasn't my mate. Hence, I loved our platonic relationship.

However, that night, Herald kissed me in a way that seemed like we were departing. It was as though we would never see each other again and I asked him but he said we would see again. He said he would come back for me. His response wasn't very assuring but I didn't ask any further questions and we just stayed under the moon, watching its beauty.

He did tell me again;

“You got my first kiss, never forget that.”

SEVEN YEARS LATER

Today, Herald never came back. I came to the same spot every day but he never came back for me like he had promised. After Herald left that day, I heard that Luna who was also Herald’s mother had died not long after the day he kissed me. I wondered if this was the reason he left and never came back.

I became so attached to Herald that I couldn't think of any man but him. I have been due for the moon festival for about two years now, but still, I did not go. This was because I was scared, I was scared I would be mated to a man I would never fall in love with. No one should ever experience that from their mate hence I would avoid the moon festival until I have finally gotten over my feeling for Prince Herald.

No, he is now Alpha Herald.

“Hey, are you going to write in your diary until nightfall or come train with me?” her voice sounded and this made me raise my head to her. Her purple fringe got stuck to her forehead because of the sweat.

It was my best friend, Katya. Yes, she came back after a year of leaving. Such a bitch! She left me to read for an exam she never actually passed.

I should be unhappy about it but I never was, in fact, I was extremely happy. No one is leaving Darkjade Pack to study Medicine science in the human world!

“I’m coming, I know you miss me.” I laughed as I joined her.

We started to spar, her coming at me and me avoiding her punches.

“Come on, what are we doing for Debby’s party?” I asked as I turned around avoiding her punch.

She smiled and turned to me.

“Didn’t you see the group chat? We made plans for a surprise party. Don't tell me you slept off again.” Katya glared at me while I widened my eyes. I had truly slept off.

Katya made use of my shocked state and tackled me to the floor, she sat on my stomach and used one hand to pin my hands over my head before using her other hand to slap my cheeks playfully.

I screamed and laughed at the same time while throwing my legs in the air hoping I’d be able to get her off but it was futile.

“Daughter of a fucking bitch!” I screamed.

ODEYA. I rushed my kids to the pack hospital. I couldn't bring myself to imagine what had happened to them. Herald rushed in at the same time that I was panicking. “What happened to them?” He asked. “I don't know.” Tears were rolling out of my eyes now. My heart was pounding wildly in my chest cavity. How come the three of them got stomach aches at the same time? I couldn't place my fingers on what had happened to them. “I’m going to see the doctor.” With this, he went away. I couldn't stand in the hospital any longer. I was anticipating the result and this could make my badge into the room. I had done that three times and the nurses had to ban me from going in. I needed to clear my head. And remind myself that nothing could ever happen to my three bundle of joy. Getting out of the hospital, I saw Katya staring at me. Her lips curled with pleasure, she looked happy and satisfied. “No... No... No...” I marched toward her. “You didn't do that to my children did you?” I asked, t

ODEYA. I ran out of my room after I was lost in thought for about three minutes. Then I used a minute to put on a gown. By the time I got to the living room, Herald was gone. Something wrecked in me. Something hard but fragile. I could place my hands on what I felt at the moment. “Are you okay?” Clara asked me and I nodded.“You don't look fine,” Dad looked at me. “I am going to bed.” With this, I turned around and went back to my room. Tears pooled around my eyes and I tried tossing it off but I couldn't. I ended up pouring it over my pillow and then slept off right there. The next day, I decided that I was going back to the pack house with the kids. My parents and Clara didn't want me to go but I knew I needed to see Herald. The way I felt with him last night was different. The more I avoided him, the more I missed him. Every time he touched me, he was making me love it more. The kids were silent since they were occupied with their games. I looked out the window while the car

HERALD. She was wet, I could smell her. It was driving me nuts hence I moved away because I didn't want to do something I would have to account for again. However, I couldn't help it. I dashed back into the room the same way I dashed out. This time she was naked as though she had been preparing for me. Ahhrrg. I couldn't control it. I pinned her to the wall and took another sniff at her skin. Her scent was heavenly. A cologne I would never get tired of. She shivered as I trailed my lips along her skin. Gently I bent my head and stared into her eyes. Her cute eyes rounded as I stared. They had desires and longing. I moved my eyes toward her lips. Those luscious pumps. I took them into my mouth, licking and biting on them. Her body gently shivered beneath me. She wrapped her hands around me, her fingers nipping at my skin. Fuck, I groaned. It was the kind of pleasure I had never experienced before. I only felt this way with her. As much as I wanted to hate her, she was the only

“Claiming you?” He raised his full yet clean brows, acting like he didn't know what I was talking about. My cheeks flushed. Perhaps he didn't think of it the way that I did. Suddenly, anger scampered through my body. I yanked my hand away from his grip and turned to my room. Before shutting the door, I pointed to the last door in the hallway. “That is the visitor’s room.” After this, I shut my door. I didn't wait for any response from him. I had never felt so embarrassed in my life. I went to the bathroom. The water ran down from the faucet to my skin. I didn't know how tightened my skin was until the water slid through. I ran my fingers on my scalp, gently massaging the tensed surface. As I closed my eyes, all I could think about was the words he said to the people. He claimed me as his own. I actually thought that he meant it. I grabbed the towel from the rack before stepping out of the bathroom and walking to the bedroom. To my surprise, Herald was in my room looking at some of

The pack men didn't realize that Herald was standing in front of me, they blindly threw their thrash at him. He stood like a strong tower as the thrash fell off him including flour. Shit!“It is the Alpha!” One of them shouted, realizing the shit they were doing. I should mock them but I couldn't bring myself to. Herald would murder them for what they just did. The next second, they all dropped to the floor. Their heart was pounding so hard, that music producers could generate tons of sounds from them. Their fear distributed all over the air.Herald gently opened his eyes, his eyelashes flopped upward like butterfly wings. His natural curls made me Jealous. My children took the curly and long lashes from him, no doubt. I have to spend a couple of dollars for lash extensions cause I don't have enough. Herald oozes out anger like a steaming machine. Then he stepped forward, his eyes hovering over the kneeling masses. “W - We didn't know you were here Alpha. We came to chase these ab

ODEYA. Herald knelt beside me, it was weird seeing him like this but it didn't let me lose focus on the game. No one has ever beaten me in flipping bottles and I am not about to make today an exemption. Herald was the first to flip his and to my surprise, he did it perfectly. Savannah and Scarlett cheered him on while I rolled my eyes. “Okay Mom, you got this!” Aaron massaged my shoulder. I did mine and it landed perfectly as well. “Looks like we have a tough game today!” Dad moved forward watching with interest. I am certain he was glad someone was finally competing with me, he had always hated me winning against him and Mom. Herald flipped perfectly again, angering me. We have been at it for more than twenty minutes get he was acing each one. By now he should give up. Everyone was already around the table, looking for who would lose. “Damn it!” I slammed my hand against the table when he made a perfect flip with his eyes closed. “Mom, you have to do it with one leg up,” S
