Chapter Four: The Caged Luna

Cassidy POV 

“ She is now the Luna of the pack and everyone has to answer to her or you court death “ Thorne Wilder announced ,his voice cold as he spoke to them worthy of being a true ruler .

His icy presence sends a chill through the room.

I swallowed the lump in my throat as the officials lowered their heads narrowing their eyes at me who was sitting before them.

Terrified gasps rippled among the crowd in the ceremonial hall as no one dared to speak up against the Alpha himself.

“ She has the absolute power to make decisions and she deserves the same respect ,regardless of her status “ he added, his voice cutting through the air like a knife.

I look up sharply, it's suddenly hard to breathe.

The pack members clenched their fists , their hands trembling as they nodded in agreement.

“ Well since Cassidy is already my Luna she will start her training and all necessary check ups must be done to ensure she fulfill her duties as expected “ he continued his eyes piercing into my emerald eyes.

“ She must observe all protocols and she is not allowed to leave her quarters or accept visitors without my permission” he declared his words sending a chill down my spine.

The feeling became worse.

My heart sank,his words cutting through me like a dagger unable to say a word.

I froze.

“So if there are no more questions you are all dismissed “ he said, his voice sharp as they slowly turned away, closing the door behind them. 

“ What do you mean by that announcement?” I queried him with confusion swirling in my gaze.

“It is just as you have heard “ he said brushing his fingers burning through my flesh ,his warm breath was hot against my skin.

My breath hitched. " What are you talking about?"I gasped in shock and look at him in disbelief.

“ What are you doing? Is this a kind of joke ?” I asked heat flaring up my cheeks slowly as he pressed me harder on the spot, inhaling his scent deeply which was utterly overwhelming.

It melted my heart completely,his eyes made my heart racing.

“ You are grounded for three months and will only serve me, or you want to be treated as an omega “ a smirk stretched on his lip, his expression unreadable.

My eyes widened in horror almost popping out of its socket.

“There are no idlers in my pack, if you think this is a vacation you are in the wrong place “ he added his lips curling into a cruel smile and I stared in confusion.

“Excuse me,an omega ? My jaw tightened, gritting my teeth rolling my eyes at him widening in shock but his face remains aloof.

A shadow falls on his face making him look deadly and dangerous.

“You can't do this to me, I'm the Luna , you can't just lock me like a bird in a cage “ I cried my voice sounding dry , yelling at him angrily.

“A Luna you say? You are my Luna in name only” he glowered over me with his nose.

“Don't you dare shout at me “ he yelled, his voice cold and merciless, his eyes blazing with anger.

“ Why are you so mean to me when I didn't offend you ? I whispered, my voice breaking.

“So what's so special about you “ his thick voice pierced through the air settling on me.

“ Don't even think of trying to get into my bed” his voice sounded like a harsh command making it hard for me to breathe turning me speechless.

“ I don't even like you I think you are a savage and I like a gentleman “ I blurted out, meeting the eyes that pierced darkness into my soul.

“Did I ever say I was a gentleman?” he retorted back with a straight face glaring at me with his obsidian eyes.

“I am not afraid of you, I'm not relying on a demon slayer for my freedom “I hissed angrily locking gazes with him.

“You are nothing but rude and a tough nut to crack, I don't have time to argue with children”he looked at me mockingly like I was a joke to him.

“Accepting spoiled children in my pack I have to find ways to deal with you, watch your temper and you have to rein that temper in my pack” he warned glowering over me with his nose .

“Come on, I can protect myself, I don't need a bodyguard,”I demanded with my lips quivering .

“No you can't “ he shot back hissing with a menace that made my body turn rigid.

“Until you prove your worth you won't last long “ he said his voice devoid of emotion with brutality lurking in his eyes.

“And if I don't “ I asked with a wild grin on my face.

“Then I will kick you out and feed you to the rogues “ his lips curl into a malicious smirk playing over his lips with pure amusement radiating from him.

“I bet you don't have any skills anyway “ irritation flashes in my eyes as he lifts an eyebrow.

“Fine I will play by the rules and prove my worth “ I ball my hands into fists my blood boiling with rage.

“Well my dinner is on you “he said and I clenched my fists at those words.

“ What the hell ? Do you expect me to cook when you have thousands of chefs who can make you good meals unlike a wild girl like me ?” I let out an air of disbelief because this has got to be a nightmare.

My shoulders slump as I look at him.

My heart is in pieces on the floor as it felt like I had been stabbed by a knife.

“I don't know how to cook” I pursed my lips, my chest aching making it feel like a cat was clawing at my throat.

“Figure it out yourself, deliver the dinner to my study, I have other matters to attend to ” he declared storming out of the hall.
