Chapter Five: Drowning Under His Rules

Chapter five 

Cassidy's POV 

I stepped inside the royal bedroom,clenching my fists as I settled on the plush cushion.

“ I can't see through him what the hell is wrong with him ?“Many questions pondered in my mind as he was treating me like a slave even though I was his Luna.

Pain grips my heart as his words keep replaying in my head ,a constant reminder that I was not his woman, just a plaything for him to trifle with.

My chest squeezed painfully at the thought of it ,my gaze landed outside the window and my body froze when I saw the royal bedroom heavily guarded by men who were dispatched by him .

I was being locked like a prisoner.

Just then , the door opened and Lucia, his personal maid, emerged from the shadows with tons of maids trailing behind her.

“I'm your personal tutor assigned by the alpha I'm going to teach you the pack rules “she chuckled, her tone filled with disdain and my body shook.

“ What? Pack laws”I exclaimed, frowning in disbelief.

My body stiffened but she maintained a stoic expression dangerously looking at me.

She brought out a large basin of water before me and the maids crossed their hands behind their backs rolling their eyes at me looking at me disdainfully.

“ I don't need your pack laws “ I snapped, my face forming a frown in annoyance.

“ Cut the crap” Lucia snapped angrily.

“ You are weak, pathetic and we will never accept you as our Luna” she snarled, her voice filled with contempt towards me.

A stabbing pain hit me as those words escaped from her mouth.

“ How dare you talk to me like that?”I retorted back, questioning her in an annoyed tone, my eyes blazing .

“ Who are you?” She asked, shrugging her shoulders with a cruel smirk as she walked further towards me.

I gritted my teeth , clenching my fists as I digested those words with anguish in my heart but as I moved forward to attack them,a strong hand shoved me back.

Before I could register,she moved around grabbing the water I used for washing my face and forced my head under the water.

I screamed,the water gulping inside my throat, choking the air in my lungs but she held my hair pulling it in a tight grip yanking it hard.

I felt my scalp sore to the point of tearing.

“ Don't ever talk to me like that ever again” she spat before pushing me to the ground. 

A whimper leaves my lip but I can't move .

I remained on the floor as Lucia turned away and left with a satisfied smile stretching on their face.

I struggled to get up to the bathroom to clean up,my hair soaked to the core,my eyes were filled with sorrow as I saw my reflection in the mirror.

“ You know you don't have to do this “ Rina spoke, her face filled with concern gazing intensely in my eyes  

“It's my only chance to gain freedom” I replied, letting out a heavy sigh in a broken tone.

“ But you don't like the alpha, “ she mumbled softly while I flipped my hair backwards, drying my hair.

“I just wanted a change of scenery but that doesn't mean I like him” I argued as she shook her head.

“I hope you take care of yourself “ she whispered as I drifted into sleep after changing my clothes.

I woke up early in the morning before dawn and strode towards Alpha Thorne private room.I needed to make him lift the barriers placed over me like I was a teenager.

I stepped inside my slippers clicking against the floor but he was not in his bedroom.

My gaze landed on his bed and something glimmered.

It was a sparkling diamond hairpin that caught my attention.

“This is my hairpin, why does he have it ? “ That was the question burning through my mind as I examined the hairpin carefully which looked exactly like the one I had lost years back.

" What are you doing in my room?" His thick voice interrupted me as he came out of the bathroom with a towel wrapped around his lower abdomen with droplets of water sliding down his chest.

 I swallowed my saliva in fear.

“ Nothing” I said and he looked at me and I could feel my legs trembling as he approached.

My heart raced as he stood opposite me,his chest bare, his brows furrowed at me as I stared at his biceps with the most intoxicating scent filling my nose.

“What are you doing? I'm asking what you are doing here?” He gives me a pained look, his voice thundering in the room grating on my nerves.

He takes my chin in a firm grip forcing me to look at him. His eyes pierced through mine,sparks shot from his touch and I gasp at the feeling.

“ You see something you like ?” His voice cuts across the room.

“Hey flasher, cover yourself, why aren't you wearing any clothes? “ I blurted.

“I was showering in my room, you didn't knock, “ he said, giving me a scathing look .

“I don't like when people sneak up on me if it were anybody else I will break their fucking neck” he growls his eyes meeting mine and my breath hitched in my body.

“I am sorry please but I just came to ask you to release me from the confinement” I whispered as he snarled on my face.

“Sure if you behave “ he replied, scrubbing his hands over my face.

“Thank you I will make myself useful” I murmured with the chill air pressing all over my body spreading goosebumps down my skin.

“I haven't agreed to you yet “his gaze remained on me devoid of emotions ,my heart filled with frustration.

“Whoa wait um this is my hairpin what is it doing with you “ I asked nervously dropping his eyes to the hairpin clasped within my palms.

His expression flickered in my eyes, something low

and dangerous.

“Well I should probably go to bed now so see you tomorrow “ I muttered, backing away.
