Even though Alpha Kaidon wouldn’t tell me where he was traveling to, I didn’t care. Honestly? I was just glad he was going to be away for a while. He needed the break, and frankly, so did I. The packhouse had felt like a prison lately.

Tension everywhere. The kind that clung to your skin like sweat on a humid day. But now, with him gone, I could breathe.

And more importantly… I could play my cards the way I wanted it played.

That maid… Lila. That weak, shiftless excuse of a wolf. She was still breathing. Still walking around like she belonged here. Like she hadn’t turned everything upside down the second she stepped foot into Moonstone. It pissed me off more than I wanted to admit.

I had warned her. I had even given her a taste of what this place could really be like. But no, Alpha Kaidon had to step in, playing hero. Punishing the guards, giving her special treatment, naming her his personal maid like she was some precious flower. I nearly laughed the first time I heard it.

  • The Cursed Alpha and His Wolfless Mate   Who Are You

I knew there was no getting out...I knew my end had come.I didn’t need a soothsayer. I didn’t need a dream or a vision or a voice from the Moon Goddess. I could feel it deep in my bones… cold, final, and terrifying. The kind of knowing that made your heart sink before anything even happened. They were going to kill me. Drake and Clarkson. I was just a weak, shiftless wolf girl. I had no wolf. No power. No one would miss me if I vanished. I’d been a gift, for Goddess' sake. A gift… and nothing more.Just an object.I clutched my knees to my chest, my back pressed against the damp wall. I had cried until I couldn’t anymore. Now, all I could do was sit in silence and wait.I shouldn’t have taken that tray of food to Drake’s room.I shouldn’t have let Sara compel me.But even then, even if I had refused, they would have found another way. I wasn’t supposed to survive this place. I was different. A threat. Or maybe just a nuisance. It didn’t matter anymore. What kept echoing in my mind w

I opened my eyes slowly.Everything around me was dark. My head hurt like someone had knocked a rock against it. I blinked again, trying to focus, but it was no use. I couldn't move my hands. Or my feet.Wait.Why couldn’t I move?I looked down and saw ropes… thick, tight, biting into my skin. My wrists were tied to the arms of a wooden chair. My ankles too. Panic gripped me immediately. My heart started pounding so loudly that I could hear it in my ears. What… What was going on?I tried to speak, to scream, but then I realized something else. My mouth was covered too. Something cloth-like. I whimpered into it, hoping someone… anyone… would hear me. But who was I even calling for? Then it hit me.Drake.He'd grabbed me last night when I brought the food to his room. And there was someone else with him. That man… what did Drake call him? Clarkson. Yes. That was it.They had kidnapped me.I struggled harder against the ropes, twisting my wrists, hoping something would give way. But it d

My hands shook. So badly, the tray I was carrying clattered softly, the metal lid tapping against the plate beneath it. I paused in the hallway, took a deep breath, and tried again to steady myself. But it was no use. My body wouldn’t listen. My feet were ice. My thoughts, frantic. And my heart… my heart had never beat this fast, not even the first time I came to this place. Something was wrong. I could feel it in my bones, crawling under my skin like a parasite. I hated this. I hated how powerless I felt… like a lamb walking straight into the wolf’s den. Why me? Why did Sara insist I be the one to take Drake’s food? Didn’t she know? Or maybe she knew and just didn’t care. Maybe she even wanted this. I stopped in front of Drake’s quarters, trying to swallow down the panic threatening to spill from my mouth. "Just knock," I whispered to myself. "Drop the food. Get out. Simple." But my hand wouldn’t move. I stared at the tall, wooden door in front of me like it was a portal

  • The Cursed Alpha and His Wolfless Mate   Mira was right about them

I was rinsing the last set of dishes when Mira walked into the kitchen like she had just seen a ghost. Her hands were clenched tightly around her apron, and her steps were unusually heavy. That alone told me something was wrong. Mira was always the cheerful one. Always smiling, always humming, always cracking weird little jokes that made the worst chores easier. Seeing her like that… quiet, eyes darting around, lips pressed tight… set off something in my chest. I quickly wiped my hands and walked toward her, but she beat me to it. “Lila,” she whispered, looking around like someone might be eavesdropping. “Can we talk?” I blinked. “Of course. What’s wrong? You look like you saw something.” She leaned in closer, grabbing my arm lightly. “I’m worried about you.” I frowned. “Me?” “Yes, you.” Her voice was barely above a whisper now. “Why?” I asked, trying not to laugh even though my heart was suddenly picking up pace. “Did something happen?” Mira glanced at the other maids still

“Hey, Lila. How are you?.” “Hey, Lila. Got time to talk?.” “Hey, Lila… hey, Lila…” It had become a National Anthem… one I hated to hear. Something wasn’t right. I could feel it. Sara, the head of the maids who once barely acknowledged my existence, had suddenly decided I was her new pet project, one she was determined to see the end of. It started yesterday, right after Alpha Kaidon had traveled. But that wasn’t the biggest thing bothering me. It was Sara. That same Sara who once tossed a mop at me for not cleaning the dining hall fast enough had brought me lunch with a wide smile on her face. Actual lunch. Warm. Extra meat. A bigger portion. No rotten vegetables. “It's just a peace offering,” she had said, as if she knew I was about to say no. I had blinked three times before accepting the tray, and even then, I had only taken tiny bites, half-expecting her to come back and say she gave it to me by mistake. She didn’t. “Thank you,” I muttered, not sure she heard me. La

  • The Cursed Alpha and His Wolfless Mate   Something happened.....

The moment we arrived at the cottage, the front door swung open like the wind itself had warned them of our presence. A man, his wife, and two identical twin girls rushed out, their faces already twisted in fear. Without wasting a second, they fell to the ground, bowing so low their foreheads touched the earth. "Alpha Kaidon... Alpha Kris..." the man muttered, trembling as he knelt. "We’re honored by your presence... please, Alpha Kris, if there’s a punishment to be given, give it to me. Leave my wife and daughters out of it. I beg you, spare their lives." The wife clutched the girls protectively, eyes wide with terror. The girls, tiny little things, maybe twelve or less, peeked at us behind their mother’s dress, unsure whether to cry or hide. I exchanged a look with Kris. “Stand up,” Kris said firmly. “You’ve broken no code, Sam. We aren’t here to pass judgment.” But the man, Sam, apparently, shook his head stubbornly. “Still, Alpha... just in case. I know how unpredictable this

I had sent for Sara, the head of the maids. I knew she'd be hesitant, maybe even scared, but I also knew something else… she had secrets. And secrets were leverages. While we waited for her, Clarkson leaned back lazily against the edge of the table, spinning a coin in his fingers like he didn’t have a care in the world. “You think she’ll play along?” I looked at him and smirked. “I don't think she will; I know she will. She doesn’t have a choice.” He scoffed. “You sound confident.” “Because I am.” “What are you not telling me?,” he asked. “What do you wanna know, my friend?,” I asked, smiling wryly. “What you know about the head of the maids that makes you sound so confident. If I'm gonna help you kill Lila, I need to know everything.” “I see,” I paused. “Well, remember the night I told you I saw someone…” The knock on the door came at just the right time, interrupting me. I didn’t need to answer. Clarkson already stood, crossed the room, and opened it. Sara stepped in hesita

  • The Cursed Alpha and His Wolfless Mate   His absence!

woke up with a weird sort of fluttering in my chest. Not fear, not exactly excitement either. It was something in between. That morning, I was supposed to resume my duties as Alpha Kaidon's personal maid after the long break he had compelled me to take. Just thinking of him made my heartbeat act funny again. Not that it mattered. I was just a maid. A gifted maid, apparently. I tied my apron, rubbed the sleep out of my eyes, and headed to the kitchen. I already knew what he liked for breakfast… scrambled eggs with diced vegetables, slightly crisped bacon, warm honeyed bread, and black coffee. No sugar. No milk. Alpha Kaidon didn’t do “soft,” even in his meals. The kitchen was already alive with the clanging of pots, the faint sizzle of oil, and that quiet tension that always lived in the air here. I stepped in and offered a soft, "Good morning," to the other maids. Nothing. Not a single response came from them. That was strange, really. I tried again, directing my words to the cl
