AESPIA POV

I fell to the bed and felt a hand at my back, someone was holding me back from hurting my legs.

I raised my head and looked at who it was.

" Alpha King?" My eyes widened in shock.

His hands were careful beneath me, holding me back from slipping to the ground. His eyes were on me, his lips looked so good.

" You should be careful," he said, as he helped me to my feet.

I looked at Cara and saw so much anger and hatred, her eyes felt like they were going to fall off, and her hands vibrated,like they were going to hold my neck and pressed it to death.

The next second, Cara was on the floor, she was shaking, I rushed to her to know what it was.

" What's going on with her?" I asked, I was confused as hell.

I ran out to seek help. Luckily for me, her group of evil maids were around the place. I pleaded with them to follow me, they refused but as soon as I mentioned Luna's name, they rushed at me.

We got to the room and she was still shaking, then her hands were on her stomach, pointing towards her stomach.

Her stomach?

What the hell was wrong with it? The guards came in, I was pushed to the side and she was taken out of the room.

My hands were shaking, I was shaking all over. I followed the guard till they got to the door, she was taken out of the house and dropped in an open car. The other guards got in and they sped away.

Alpha Xyren was standing there, watching. There was no fear in his face, he never made an attempt to carry her as well.

Why was he so cold towards her?

" You never attempted to do anything, she could be dying and you are just going to stay there and do nothing about it" I said.

Even though she was a bad person, I felt some pity for her.

" You should watch your mouth in this place, and for Cara? She will be fine" he said it like it was nothing and he made it seem like it was something that had happened before.

He walked away. Why was he so cold towards her? He looked calm and not bothered about anything.

Slap!

I turned to see who just slapped me, it was one of the maids that worked with Cara.

" How dare you?" I wanted to slap her back but I was held back by the others, I was surrounded.

" I know you did that to her, you were the one who did that to her, you are going to pay for it" she said.

I was going to pay for something I have no idea about, it was funny to me and very unnecessary.

" You think you are in that useless place you came from? You are not going to stay here, you can not stay here, you will leave soon" she said.

I scoffed, there was no need for the threat, I want to leave as well, I want to disappear from here.

The only thing I am ever going to miss is Alpha Xyren's body and those sexy lips of his.

I went back to my room after walking out on those silly maids.

I was shaking,I was scared. What did the maid mean when she accused me of being the reason she was in that state?

I never did anything to her. I kept thinking about it but nothing was coming to me.

I did not hurt her, I could swear it, it had nothing to do with me. I wondered why they were accusing me, then it hit me, it has always been that way.

My life has always been that way, from one accusation to the other, not like I did any of them.

But what kept bothering me was that this was a new place for me and I did not want a stain on my name just like Dalia did to me.

My stomach began to rumble, I was restless, my eyes kept going to the window, I kept watching, terrified of their return.

Cara was going to side with the narrative that her maids already made, she is going to be happy to see that I am disgraced.

My legs refused to stay at a place, it kept moving all over the place, my face frowned each time a car drove in and it was not Cara or any of the guards that went with her.

I had become restless for a long time before that very car pulled into the house. I rushed downstairs to hear what they had to say.

Everyone was eager to know what was wrong with her. I turned and saw the Alpha King there as well. My heart began to race so fast.

" What is wrong with her?" He asked.

" It was reported that a substance was put in her coffee, the coffee she took this morning," the guard that had gone with her said.

My heart sank into my stomach.

" What in the world was put in her coffee?" Alpha Xyren asked.

I began to feel dizzy, the same coffee I had made this morning for her? Why was this happening to me? Why was my life this way? Why were all bad things happening all at once?

" It is something poisonous," he said.

Poisonous?

Impossible, that can not be. I made sure I was very careful about what I was doing, no one added anything to her drink, what were they talking about.

" Who made the coffee?" Alpha Xyren asked.

My heart began to beat faster than normal, my eyes were getting watery.

" She did," a finger was pointed at me.

What?

I froze as Alpha Xyren's eyes met with mine, my legs became too heavy to move. I was weak and it seemed my voice was taken away from me.
