THE NIGHT BOTH ARMIES WALKED INTO CHAOS

The forest was eerily silent.

Freya sensed it first—an unsettling feeling creeping over her skin as if the trees were observing her. The night breeze brought no hint of prey or threat, only an odd stillness that caused her grip on the hilt of her dagger to tighten.

Next to her, Kael came to a stop. His eyes shimmered with a golden hue.

“Do you smell that?” he asked in a hushed tone.

Freya shook her head. “What do you mean?”

“Nothing,” he answered. “That’s the issue. No wolves, no rogues, no nocturnal creatures. It’s as if the forest is holding its breath.”

Freya’s heart raced against her ribs.

Behind them, their warriors stood in silence—exhausted from days of war preparations, yet ready to obey any order. They believed tonight would be their opportunity to gain an advantage over Alpha Vallien’s forces.

But Freya was aware of the truth. Her instincts warned her that this was not an ordinary night.

“Kael,” she whispered, “we should retreat.”

THE STILLNESS BEFORE THE FRACTURED DAWNThe night enveloped the Crescent Ridge Pack like a heavy cloak filled with tension. The moon hung low—still full, still bright, still observing. It cast a pale silver light over the land, rendering everything colder, sharper, and quieter than it truly was. This silence did not bring comfort… it served as a warning.Elara sensed it instantly. She stood on the balcony of the Alpha’s residence, her fingers gripping the railing as the breeze tousled her hair. The air bore an unfamiliar quality—an unsettling ripple she could not fully define, yet felt deep within her bones. Behind her, the bedroom remained dim, illuminated only by a solitary lantern. Aiden’s voice floated from within, low and resolute as he conversed with two warriors.“Increase the patrols. No one enters or exits without authorization,” he commanded.Elara’s heart ached. Since the attack that nearly dismantled everything, Aiden had grown increasingly protective—almost restless. She

The Shadow MovesThe final words of the rogue resonated in Leah’s mind long after his body had become still. He’s coming.Leah’s heartbeat raced unevenly as she stood before the dungeon door. The corridor felt constricted, the shadows more profound, as if the warning had already awakened something in the atmosphere.Elder Mira secured the iron gate with trembling fingers, her usual composure faltering. “We must incinerate his body at dawn. No wolf afflicted by a shadow curse can be interred.”Leah swallowed hard. “What precisely transpired with him?”Mira paused, her gaze softening with a hint of fear. “A soul-binding curse. Rare… ancient… forbidden. Only an individual with immense dark power can invoke it.”The implication settled into Leah like ice.The Shadow King.“Leah,” Mira spoke softly, “whatever he conveyed to you, it is imperative that you inform the Alpha.”Leah nodded—but her heart tightened. She was reluctant for Kai to hear the rogue’s warning. Not yet. Not while he rema

The Rogue’s WarningThe packhouse was quieter than normal, yet the silence felt anything but serene. It was tense… stretched… uncomfortable. Every wolf sensed the change in the atmosphere following Kai’s outburst. Even the walls appeared to hold their breath, as if they feared that a single wrong sound could provoke his volatile wolf once more.Leah sensed it as well. Her chest remained tight from earlier — the image of Kai’s eyes, wild and aflame, still flickered behind her eyelids. She couldn’t erase the moment he had nearly lost control. Nor could she forget how he had returned to her voice, as if she were the sole thread tethering him to sanity. But now, something else weighed on her senses. A pull. A whisper. A peculiar chill that coursed down her spine. She didn’t comprehend it until Elder Mira approached her.“Leah,” the woman spoke gently. “There is movement in the dungeon.”Leah tensed. “The rogue?”Mira confirmed with a nod. “He has regained consciousness. And… he’s been ask

The Alpha’s Fury UnleashedThe night air was thick enough to taste. An eerie, unsettling silence enveloped the pack grounds—too quiet, too still, as if the forest itself was holding its breath. Leah sensed it first, a tug in her chest accompanied by a cold shiver down her spine. The mate bond pulsed, sharp and urgent, alerting her to the approach of something dark. She hurried across the clearing toward the training field, typically bustling with warriors sparring, but tonight the area was completely deserted. The torches flickered low, casting elongated shadows that slithered across the ground as if they possessed minds of their own. Then she heard it—A low growl.Dangerous. Violent. Not human. Not attempting to be.Leah froze.A figure emerged from the trees, dragging someone by the leg.Her breath caught.“Kai?”He released the rogue he had been hauling like a rag doll and turned to face her. His eyes were no longer the deep storm-grey she recognized. They glowed molten gold, swir

The Whispering DarknessThe stillness following Aria’s explosion felt unnatural—too dense, too complete, as if the forest itself was holding its breath.Leon gradually rose from where he had collapsed, his body still trembling from the shockwave she had unleashed. His gaze remained fixed on her luminous hands, his expression a complex blend of admiration, fear, and a painful sense of protectiveness."Aria… we must move," he said softly, his voice raspy. "That explosion was not discreet. Something has sensed it."Aria wrapped her shaking arms around her chest. "I didn’t intend to—Leon, I don’t even understand how I accomplished that.""We will find a solution." He gently grasped her shoulder, though even that contact felt tentative—as if he were uncertain of the new limits her power had established. Before either could continue their conversation, a ripple coursed through the trees. Not wind.Something different. The shadows elongated unnaturally, bending and twisting, as if a colossal
