CHAPTER 39

{AHVI’S POINT OF VIEW}

It is swarthy and the ground is water-soaked underneath my feet as I run deeper into the green forest— behind me is the sound of resonant, low growls that bring a cry of fear out of my throat. I run as fast as my legs can carry me but I don't get far; suddenly my waist is grasped roughly and I whip my head back to come face to face with a pair of red, animalistic eyes and sharp fangs. I let out a scream of horror.

With a startle, I jostle up awake with a gasp of hysteria and bolt to a sitting position to find myself on my bed, in my room. I let out a sigh of relief and brought a hand to my chest to soothe my breathing; it’s just a dream, I think to myself as I look at my alarm clock and it reads 2 in the morning.

What the hell was that? I think to myself and then realize it's the second nightmare I've had since the forest ordeal two days ago.
