>>>>>GABRIELLE's pov<<<<<

Everyone was perplexed, this was unexpected!

"W-what?" I shuttered at Mr. Reagan, and he smiled cockily at me.

I barely even know the Reagans in person, I have nothing to do with them. So, why was I chosen by Mr. Reagan himself to be engaged to his son, Hidalgo?

To be sincere, I don't know how I feel right now. I'm not even prepared to be engaged, let alone to be a married woman at this current stage of my life.

I know getting married to someone as powerful as Hidalgo simply means I will be extraordinarily worshipped, the entire world would bow at my feet and I will be the envy of every woman outta there.

But come to even think more about it, what gave Mr. Reagan the chutzpah to choose a spouse for me when he doesn't even know me?

No way, I don't have any other option but to crash this engagement, right here and now!

"What are you doing, Father? I'm not gonna marry that lady, I'm highly against this proposal!” Hidalgo vibrated, he was very disgruntled at his father's assertion.

“Son, I'm only doing what's best for you!” Mr. Reagan gruffly told him, but why do I feel like this man has another motive?

"I support my son, Reagan!” A woman suddenly chips in, she's standing beside Mr. Reagan.

She glared at me, turning aside to her husband and she said "What did you just do, Reagan? Lucy was meant to get married to Hidalgo and not this...." She glance at me, throwing deadly daggers and she added "This swine who's not fit to be a part of Reagan's family," she tells.

"Don't worry, Gina. We will discuss this better when we both get home," Mr. Reagan replies to his wife, placing his hand on her shoulder and she simply sighed in defeat.

"This is unfair!" A cry was heard next, it was Lucy's mother, she was now tearfully hugging her daughter who was still laying unconscious in her arms.

Hidalgo stood up dominantly on his feet, his hand was tucked inside his pocket while the other hand was tightly fisted.

A group of people rushed down to the woman, I guess they are her relatives as they assisted her in carrying her daughter out of the hall.

"I'm disappointed!" Lucy's father put in at the moment, he was quaking in vexation and I know he feels humiliated.

Certainly, this catastrophic display will be on every headline tomorrow morning!

I feel guilty for everything I have caused here, It's all my fault!

If only I hadn't scooted into this engagement party just to be protected from the men who were after my life, everything would have worked out perfectly fine here and ended well too.

Glancing at the door entrance, I could no longer see the bastards who had made come here —I swear, I will uncover them and make them pay dearly the very second I get out of here.

The silence in the hall was suffocating.

I glimpse at Hidalgo and I saw his cold eyes on me, his fury violently causing my skin to crawl, his jaw clenched and I immediately make a say to Mr. Reagan.

"I'm sorry, Mr. Reagan. But I can't...

"Take her to the mansion!" Mr. Reagan steely ordered before I could complete my sentences, and five burly guards emerges from nowhere and trapped my arms.

"What! You can't take me away like this!" I flared up, battling in between as they pulled me out of the hall "This is absurd!" I yelled, tussling with them as we were suddenly out of sight.

Approximately two minutes, we got to an open space and a black tainted helicopter could be seen, loitering for us to pass in.

Hell no, I can't be taken away like this!

Before I knew what was happening, the men aggressively propelled me inside since I was reluctant against entering the ride.

"...please fasten your seatbelt, because we will be taking off soon!" The pilot openly announced.

"Hey!" The muscular guard in front of me barked raucously, I was squeezing his shoulders in an attempt to push him off while he was vigorously fastening my seatbelt.

"Curse you!" I angrily spat at him, watching him move to one of the seats which were close to the window while the other guards nest on the seats behind me.

Hence, the helicopter started taking off, and my grips held tighter on the armrest as I shut my eyes in trepidation —I'm scared of take-offs!

Right at this moment, I recalled my mother and my heart began to hit my ribcages. Ugh, not like I care about her. But then, I know she will be very troubled and I whimper.

>>>MOMENT LATER <<<

After a few moments later, we arrived at space again which seems to be an airport, and the men dragged me out from the helicopter.

The wild breezes smooched my face, ruffling my red long hair and my dress too while we were striding briskly towards the pickup cars.

Reaching the car, I reluctantly hopped inside when one of the guards pushed me forward. He entered the car too, sitting at the left window side, while I recoiled at the other right end.

The rest of the men rushed towards the other car behind us, and we departed from the scene.

It was close to five minutes when we got to a secluded area, it's territory was silent with no houses around but simply tall beautiful trees surrounding the region as we arrived upon a gigantic golden gate.

The automatic portico opened on scanning us, and the driver drove into the vast yard, riding through the right bridle path as it pulled up in front of the tremendous mansion.

—Hades, this place looks more like an unmistakable paradise. Everything here glistens in raw gold.

The massive mansion is a rare one, I must truly confess that I have never seen any type like it in the whole world.

I wish I could describe this ineffable building ahead of me, but I do know one thing —the Reagans did squander quite a fortune on this mansion.

At that moment, an aged woman in her fifties steps out of the mansion while we were alighting from the car.

"Lady Bellamy!" One of the guards called, and the aged woman approached us and stopped in front of us.

She glance at me and looked away. But then, she peeks again directly at me with enlarged eyes this time around as if she had known me from somewhere.

"Starlight?!” She gasped, her shoulders hung up in shock and I was taken aback for a second.

"I'm sorry, ma'am. I'm not Starlight!" I was forced to reply to her, although I was confused as to why she called that name.

"Oh, sorry!" She quickly apologized to me, now turning to the men and she said "Father Reagan orders she should be taken to the blue room" then, she turns, walking back to the house.

"Blue room?" I murmured, confusingly.

The guards move towards me, clutching my arms again, and someone else was seriously blindfolding my eyes as I battled reluctantly.

Hence, I felt a hit on the creek of my neck, and I gasped. My eyes lids became heavy for me, and I blacked out.
