TWO MONTHS AGO

"ONE part of the Black Shaol?" Chloe asked. She was standing at the doorway of the dining room, her arms crossed against her chest, with Neptos sitting at the table, gulping down his mug of beer. Jucel was across him, fiddling with her cup of tea.

After Lucian and the others left for school, the trio gathered for a meeting. Chloe and Jucel immediately told Neptos of the Black Shaol's release from its prison in the Dark Forest.
